Yes. Erdogan recently said regarding the Taliban: “Turkey has nothing that contradicts their beliefs.”
“Taliban say it perceives Turkey as an ally, want to build close ties,” Duvar English, August 15, 2021:
The Taliban has said that the militant group doesn’t perceive Turkey as an enemy, but as an ally instead.
Speaking to The Independent’s Turkish service, Mullah Mohammad Yaqoob, the son of Taliban founder Mullah Omar, said that they want to build close relations with Turkey.
Yaqoob also said that the militants expect President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to be respectful towards them.
“Turkey is a country that houses many Afghans and that we want to build close relations with. We perceive Turkey as an ally and not an enemy,” he said on Aug. 15.
Yaqoob oversees the group’s military operations. He was proposed as the overall leader of the movement during various succession tussles, but he put forward Akhundzada in 2016 because he felt he lacked battlefield experience and was too young, according to a Taliban commander….

Should the other NATO countries continue to see Turkey as an ally? It appears Turkey’s future is in the East I can see Turkey and China and probably all the other ‘stans’ setting up their own military alliance. There is more that unites them than divides them.

I suggest doing it differently. Since Turkey gets along so well w/ the Taliban and Pakistan, have them complete any of the residual NATO ‘obligations’ towards Afghanistan. There will be no more green-on-blue attacks since the only ‘blue’ will be Turkish
Oh, and here’s the catch: the next time any jihadist attack is traced back to Afghanistan, hold Turkey, amongst others, responsible

Our President House Plant Biden I am sure can send his son Hunter to Turkey with a “fresh” laptop to pick up some good$$$ no show jobs while sending billions in “aid”(bribe money to you un- washed scum of average American citizen whose taxes pay for it ) money to please pretty please condemn the Taliban publicly in his speeches to keep the gravy train coming. I am sure Germany, France ,England and much of Northern Europe can except the new flood of refugees from Afghanistan mostly military aged men trained in both the use of Soviet style weapons and American style weapons left behind in Afghanistan.

This makes sense: one of the 16 Turkic empires that Turkey honors is the Ghaznavid empire, which first islamized Afghanistan. So both Turkey and Afghanistan – as well as Pakistan – consider that a part of their heritage. In fact, despite the fact that population wise, neither country’s people are Turkic, Turkey should invite both Afghanistan and Pakistan to join the Turkic council

Erdogan is a staunch jihadi make no mistake about that, he sees eye to eye with the most radical islamic groups such as the taliban and isis.
I constantly ask myself the question, when the hell is the US going to remove its nuclear arsenal out of Turkey? and I keep getting the same answer, NEVER. While Erdogan is in power the only way they will be getting them back is in an offensive attack, I hate to say that, but he so badly wants his hands on those weapons.
John says
He already has
