My latest in PJ Media:
What could be more capitalist than American Express? After all, the credit card behemoth made $2.3 billion in profit last quarter alone. Since the social media giants are massive corporations, too, and they seem to be all in on the woke corporate nanny state, why not Amex? Christopher F. Rufo of the Manhattan Institute revealed in the New York Post Wednesday that Amex invited Khalil Muhammad, a professor at Harvard Kennedy School and the Radcliffe Institute and the great-grandson of the founder of the Nation of Islam, Elijah Muhammad, to give a lecture to employees on “race in corporate America.”
Employees were made to enter their “race, sexual orientation, body type, religion, disability status, age, gender identity [and] citizenship” onto “an official company worksheet” and use this data to determine whether they were “privileged” or “marginalized,” no doubt in full accord with the Left’s hierarchy of good to evil, in which white American males are the carriers of the original sin of racism. Amex offers resources (including, of course, the timeless classic writings of Ibram X. Kendi) to “learn about covert white supremacy” and take up “the lifelong task of overcoming our country’s racist heritage.” Some of the featured resources call for efforts to “force white people to see and understand how white supremacy permeates their lives.”
As in other places, the CRT training at Amex identifies even the renunciation of racism as racist, stigmatizing as “microaggressions” phrases including “I don’t see color,” “We are all human beings” and “Everyone can succeed in this society if they work hard enough.”
Everyone can succeed in this society if they work hard enough, but Khalil Muhammad, Harvard professor, was having none of that and was determined to make sure the Amex employees, or at least the white male ones, became aware that they were racist oppressors. He told his captive audience of credit card wonks that capitalism was “founded on racism” and that the Western world had been profoundly influenced by “racist logics and forms of domination” for centuries. “American Express,” he declared, “has to do its own digging about how it sits in relationship to this history of racial capitalism.” He laid the guilt on extra thick: “You are complicit in giving privileges in one community against the other, under the pretext that we live in a meritocratic system where the market judges everyone the same.”
There is more. Read the rest here.

Capitalist Giant American Express: Capitalism Is Racist
………………….
Surely if American Express *really* believed this they would have to destroy themselves?
But this is really about these companies “getting out in front” of unhinged criticism.
Never mind that that there is nothing *less* racist than free trade.
And, as noted, the very success of those like Khalil Muhammad gives the lie to these claims, in any case. How can it be more absurd than to have a well-off, influential member of a minority tell you that it is impossible for their group to make it in a Capitalist society?
Here’s Muhammad, claiming that all policing is racist–never mind that it is often African Americans in rough neighborhoods who are main the victims of crime. Of course Muhammad doesn’t care about them.

If American express real believes that capitalism is a racist tool against the masses they could just do away with their interest rates or lower them to what you get in a savings account around . 025 percent say .Put their dollar into the woke zone for real?

Dear Amex
I’d like to transfer all my credit card balances to my AmEx card, and then have you write it off, b’cos I’m a BIPOC. Can you do it? Please? Pretty please?

AMEX card just hit the shredder.

Dear Infidel
We would welcome your business, and are only too happy to transfer your other credit card balances to your Amex card. This is because we know our latest initiatives will not be too popular with our existing customers, many of whom will cancel their accounts wirh us, cut up their Amex cards, and basically send us down the financial gurgler. So in the not too distant future, we will probably be able to accede to your request for a write off of your unpaid loan obligations with us.
Yours sincerely
Amex

“Critical Race Theory”… What does that term even mean? Why do people on the Right keep insisting in calling it that instead of what it really is: Anti-White Hatred — this is what’s at the core of it. Why are people afraid to call it out in that way? If the situation is reversed and the core teachings and texts of “CRT” replaced the word “white” with “black”, do you think the leftists everywhere would still call it “CRT”? Of course not. So why do the people on the Right keep insisting in calling it by its name? By doing so, you indirectly validate its existence as some valid scholarly theory.
For someone who is not informed on what it teaches, they might agree to it merely based on the name: “What’s wrong with teaching kids about racism?” most uninformed people would say. But if you call it Anti-White Hatred instead, you’d get a completely opposite reaction. So please, to anyone reading this, do not be afraid to call it what it really is: a communist, leftist, wealth-distribution, anti-white ideology that seeks to subjugate white people and reduce them to second rate citizens by taking everything they own and giving it to non-white people. Do that and you might see more people opposing it.

LB,
Great point.
CRT is right up there with islamophobia…

Prior to this feature article, I had considered getting an American Express credit card.
Now – NEVER…
Infidel says
Problem is that 3 of the 4 major cards – AmEx, Visa and Discover are all heavily woke. Not sure about Mastercard
I hope to get to a point where I clear up all my credit card debt and then never need to use them again
James Lincoln says
Infidel,
I’d like to do the same but I travel a fair amount and need hotels and rental cars…
Infidel says
Apple Pay and Android Pay too are options, except that those companies are the kings of woke. Otherwise, one could just connect one of these two to one’s bank account, and charge it

Thanks for the feedback, Infidel.
