An immense victory for the global jihad, courtesy of the mismanagement and willful blindness of Joe Biden’s handlers. It is good that the U.S. is getting out of Afghanistan, but the withdrawal couldn’t have been handled more poorly.

KABUL, Afghanistan (AP) — Taliban fighters entered Kabul on Sunday and sought the unconditional surrender of the central government, officials said, as Afghans and foreigners alike raced for the exit, signaling the end of a 20-year Western experiment aimed at remaking Afghanistan.
The beleaguered central government, meanwhile, hope for an interim administration, but increasingly had few cards to play. Civilians fearing that the Taliban could reimpose the kind of brutal rule that all but eliminated women’s rights rushed to leave the country, lining up at cash machines to withdraw their life savings. Helicopters buzzed overhead, some apparently evacuating personnel at the U.S. Embassy. Several other Western missions were also preparing to get staff out.
In a stunning rout, the Taliban seized nearly all of Afghanistan in just over a week, despite the hundreds of billions of dollars spent by the U.S. and NATO over nearly two decades to build up Afghan security forces. Just days earlier, an American military assessment estimated it would be a month before the capital would come under insurgent pressure.
Instead, the Taliban swiftly defeated, co-opted or sent Afghan security forces fleeing from wide swaths of the country, even though they had some air support from the U.S. military.
On Sunday, the insurgents entered the outskirts of Kabul but apparently remained outside of the city’s downtown. Sporadic gunfire echoed at times though the streets were largely quiet.
Workers fled government offices, and smoke rose over the city as embassy staff burned important documents.
Taliban spokesman Suhail Shaheen told Qatar’s Al-Jazeera English satellite news channel that the insurgents are “awaiting a peaceful transfer of Kabul city.” He declined to offer specifics on any possible negotiations between his forces and the government.
But when pressed on what kind of agreement the Taliban wanted, Shaheen acknowledged that they were seeking an unconditional surrender by the central government….

97% or more of Afghans have few doctrinal differences with the Taliban, but most dislike their methods.
Now, because they did not resist the Taliban, the Afghan people will suffer the consequences.

Islam is actually quite functional. Nothing stands in the way of Islamic hegemony. It is the opposition to Islam which is dysfunctional. Religion of peace? A religion? Seriously? It is neither peaceful nor a religion.

Absolutely spot on, Terry! Not only does nothing stand in the way of islamic hegemony, but organizing an opposition to islam is an uphill task in itself. For instance, if you wanna discuss the perversion in islam, be it bestiality, rape culture, sex slavery or anything in that area, it’s hard to do it in polite company w/o having people have a very unfavorable impression of you. Similarly, muslims do things that are so heinous that no one wants to discuss them
For what it does, islam is remarkably successful, dominating 50 countries, having 20-25% of the world’s population, the bulk of it their younger population. A lot of other religions would love to have the success that islam has in this department

Terry, I know you have demanded many times that we change the meaning of our words for Islam–but I think we have already bent over backwards for Islam enough. Islam is indeed a religion by all definition–it is simply an evil religion.
And your implication that we cannot oppose Islam unless we change our language is not borne out–good people opposed Islam for centuries–often quite successfully–without ignoring reaity.

It should be obvious that we never stood a snowball’s chance in the fiery deep of succeeding in “Nation Building” with a culture solidly rooted in 7th century barbarism. China, who just caught the bouquet, will not either. But will ONE person out there give me one reason why our “Military” Commanders abandoned our valuable taxpayer bought weapons and equipment in the field, loaded and ready to be picked up by an enemy as we fled in fear, and why they shouldn’t be court martialed. It seems we WILL see video of helicopters leaving from the roof of our Billion-Dollar Embassy after all.

The Taliban are imbued with the Salafist death cult ideology. The way out is a massive deprogramming of Muslims worldwide. Once Muslims see the Koran is written by humans, they instantly abandon it.
If NATO countries had spent a fraction of cost of conventional warfare on ideological warfare against Salafism, then many Muslims would now be ex-Muslims and ex-jihadists.
De-programming Muslims is dangerous work, and so it must be done by the intelligence agencies in deep cover. We can do it.

Then, the idea that Kufar can “deprogram” the Taliban–and the entire population of Afghanistan–is just odd. Afghanistan should be isolated. I don’t want to see any more Infidels dying there.

There are no troops on the ground to fight the taliban. The war is over. There is no apetite for nato troops to go in. The war is over at least for now.

There is no reason for NATO troops to be there either. If we have to, we can have ‘NATO member’ Turkey go on, and work in tandem w/ their best buddies Pakistan to manage the situation in Afghanistan

It was only yesterday that the Biden administration announced it was sending 5,000 troops to Afghanistan. Today Kabul fell to the Taliban. Biden is on vacation. Not that it makes any difference. The 20 year misadventure in Afghanistan is finally over, but the war on America by the Democrat Marxists continues apace. Could the Biden administration be more clueless? About everything?
