Biden’s legacy encapsulated in a photo.
“Elite Taliban unit wearing US gear appears to mock iconic American WWII photo,” by Emma Colton, Fox News, August 21, 2021:
A Taliban fighting unit called the Badri 313 Battalion was spotted patrolling Afghanistan with U.S.-made gear, and posting one photo appearing to mock the iconic World War II photo, Raising the Flag on Iwo Jima.
Propaganda videos posted this week on channels affiliated with the Taliban show soldiers in the little-known Badri 313 Battalion carrying U.S. and U.S. ally-made weapons and gear that appear to be stolen from allied militaries while patrolling parts of Kabul.
In one propaganda photo, members of the Badri 313 Battalion are seen hoisting a Taliban flag in a similar fashion to the six U.S. Marines who raised the U.S. flag on Mount Suribachi during the Battle of Iwo Jima in 1945….
The Badri 313 special unit differs from typical Taliban fighters as they are made to look more like U.S. soldiers, with camouflage, combat boots, and body armor. They also carry M4 carbines and drive armored Humvees, the Sinclair Broadcasting Group reported.
“With the Taliban now in power, there is every reason to believe the militia could grow in strength,” Aroor added. “Expect to see much more of the Badri 313 in the weeks and months ahead.”
President and founder of Eurasia Group, Ian Bremmer, also posted a photo of Taliban fighters “with their new American gear” on Twitter Saturday morning.
The U.S. gave Afghan forces an estimated $28 billion in weaponry between 2002 and 2017. But now, “everything that hasn’t been destroyed is the Taliban’s now,” a U.S. official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, told Reuters.
The seizure of American weaponry, such as advanced aircraft, serves as a propaganda tool, as insurgents are unable to operate the aircraft without training….

I can tell you that members of our military with lives on the line today, those of us that once served as well as those of us long gone from service, would all put our lives on the line now to get this job done! Done right! Biden and his Marxist Regime DOES NOT represent the strength and heart of our military past, present or future! We want those that helped us kept us safe and their families out of these horrific terrorist controlled areas ASAP. Of course with all Americans as well. Our troops there are chomping at the bit to get out there and recover them- bringing them to safety. After that is complete, it’s time to remove those from office that have put all involved needlessly in harms way and brought our country to a very disgraceful time due to those “Running” our government!

Absolutely disgraceful , beyond my comprehension as an American !
And insulting to American armed forces everywhere. Dimentia joe Biden
is a weak lying liberal, intent on destroying our armed forces! This debacle of his
in Afghanistan will go down In history as an embarrassment for the ages!
Where are our army generals and Sec of defense when America needs them most?
We must stop the insanity. Biden needs to be removed from office ASAP!

The British, French, American troops are in a precarious position at Kabul airport. They are surrounded they are essentially under the Taliban good will. Nowhere out of there, only flight, which can be shot down.

We know that the Taliban are going to hold abandoned American citizens hostage as part of their evil design to use them as bargaining chips. Watch them demand the release of 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheihk Mohammad and his buddies from GITMO…on 9/11…or the beheadings on live TV begin. That is a nightmare scenario that will likely happen just to humiliate the US more.
We can blame the do-gooder defense lawyers from JAG and pro-bono lawyers from Holder’s old DC law firm and elsewhere and feckless Pentagon/DOJ idiocy. KSM should have tried, convicted, and hanged within 2 months of getting him into our custody in 2004. What will the overly self-absorbed Pearl-clutching lawyers say then? Remember the Nazi saboteurs we caught during WWII after they landed on Long Island? Tried/convicted/executed nice and quick and NO QUALMS! The 9/11 anniversary is right around the corner. We have failed our honored dead from that horrific day. Watch them get Maj. Hassan released from Fort Hood prison and flown to Afghanistan as a bonus. Or free airline ticket to Johnny Walker Linhd whose whereabouts we have no idea since his too-early release from Des Moines federal pen.

Never to be overlooked or forgotten is that the Taliban are representative of true and pure Islam. The Taliban are extremely fine Muslims and the more devout the Muslim is to his faith the more of a menace he is to the rest of mankind, especially that portion of mankind, effectively the West and the West only, where principles of liberty over the centuries and millennia were developed and re-developed.
The few non-Western societies which have essential liberty—Japan, South Korea and India being examples—have liberty to the extent they do PRECISELY because of Western influence and temporary dominance. One knows this or should know it.
The photo above unwittingly demonstrates how perverse Islam truly is versus America at its best. America came to liberate and the Islamic world seeks to oppress. Miss this and you’re missing almost everything.
If one cherishes Western Civilization and if one cherishes arguably its greatest achievement, i.e., freedom as no other civilization or society remotely has, then one must despise the Taliban and despising the Taliban entails (no wiggle room here) despising Islam.
I do. You bet I do.

Kind of a twist of history when your conquers become your liberators.
Alexander the Great put an end to many types of blood worship and cannibalism as he conquered the known world also.
Props when its due: The Taliban did a good job with the photo and mock.
Its now on the citizens of the USA to set things straight. We need a change in governments
even more than a change in governors.
Time for some special elections. Past time

But, roberta, I aver what I stated is true—minus the West, virtually no other civilization or society developed freedom. Because of the British Empire democracy exists in India. Minus Britain out of the history of the Subcontinent and the chances freedom would exist to the extent it does is practically non-existent. But for America, South Korea and Japan would not be free societies. And so on to the benefit of the ONLY civilization which prized real freedom, i.e., Western Civilization.
Go outside the West and freedom disappears, if ever it were present in the first place, real fast like. Put another way, the West, and only the West, developed true liberty. I stand upon this assertion–yes I do—as I stand upon another assertion and that is that Islam, all of it, is inimical to liberty and I’m sick of silly Kafirs (e.g., Bush 43) and silly Muslims (e.g., Irshad Manji) maintaining otherwise. Such people are a hindrance to freedom and not a conduit to greater freedom
roberta says
Yes, the truest liberty is from the West, I just kinda steered the conversation off coarse a bit.
Agree with the Bush 43, Im not fond of any Bush, but 43 really dropped the ball with all of his ”islam is a religion of peace” mess. I dont even want to get started on his letting the House of Saud off the hook.

Why do they claim that Alexander the Great was unable to conquer what’s today Afghanistan? Part of that country was a part of Achaemenid Persia, and that empire was completely overrun by the Macedonians. Eastern part of it – today’s Kabul, Jalalabad – was a part of Indic kingdoms, and some of them either lost battles or surrendered/switched sides, and it wasn’t until he came into contact w/ Paurava/Porus that he hit a roadblock and started seeing a mutiny from his troops
Walter Sieruk says
That affront of arrogant Taliban mockery against American Patriotism and American soldiers is a result of that villian ,bogus “President ” Biden.
Joe Biden is no a real United States President ,that despicable vote stealing fiend is pseudo US “president.”
James Lincoln says
You are correct, Walter.
Biden is an illegal resident of the White House.
The undeniable massive organic / cyber fraud in the 2020 US Presidential Election is getting further and further exposed…

This is just dumb. The Imperial Japanese were a much more formidable foe than the Taliban could ever dream of being. The Battle of Iwo Jima resulted in the death of 18,844 out of 22,060 Japanese soldiers on the island. After the US Marines were done 216 were captured. Does the Taliban really want to go that route?
Crusades Were Right says
Last year, the West stood back and did nothing to stop the Mohammedan Azerbaijani onslaught on little Christian Armenia.
Armenians – both soldiers AND civilians – were slaughtered, and deprived of their lands, churches, businesses and homes, and the West looked the other way.
Another “quarrel in a far away country, between people of whom we know nothing”, as British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain said of another small country in 1938.
Once again we see that ignorance makes a very poor shield against the forces of evil.
