So the Indians have been some of the vigorous critics of Biden’s actions.
One of the big variables in the Taliban triumph and the shameful rout has been the abandonment of Bagram Air Base. Biden and his people made the decision to abandon Bagram Air Base and focus on securing the Kabul embassy. The abandonment of Bagram not only cut off our only reliable exit strategy, but also led to the Taliban liberating thousands from a nearby prison that included their own fighters, Al Qaeda, and ISIS-K.
Now there appears to be a direct link between the abandonment of Bagram and the suicide bombing at Kabul airport.
The Islamic State suicide bomber who killed at least 169 Afghan civilians and 13 United States soldiers outside Kabul airport last month was incarcerated in Afghanistan’s notorious Bagram prison for the past four years, thanks to Indian efforts, Firstpost has learnt through credible intelligence sources.
Senior Indian intelligence sources familiar with the case have told Firstpost that he was handed over to the United States’ Central Intelligence Agency by the Research and Analysis Wing in September 2017. However, the jihadist walked free on 15 August along with thousands of other dangerous terrorists held in the high-security prison, taking advantage of the chaos that ensued in the aftermath of the United State’s hurried exit and the Taliban’s swift takeover of the entire country.
Identified as Abdul Rehman, the jihadist was a former student of an engineering college in India and hailed from Afghanistan’s Logar province. He was the son of an Afghan merchant who frequently visited India for business.
His arrest had led to the termination of a plot by the Islamic State of Khurasan Province (IS-K) — the Islamic State’s regional wing in Afghanistan — to stage suicide bombings in New Delhi and other cities across the region, probably on the behest of Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence Directorate (ISI).
“America’s disorganised retreat from Afghanistan has led to hundreds of highly-competent and highly-committed terrorists being set free to rejoin the Islamic State, al-Qaeda and other terrorist groups,” one officer who worked on the Abdul Rehman case said.
“Literally a decade’s work on counter-terrorism has been undone by the US’ failure to secure key prisoners in Bagram,” he said adding that the consequences of this failure will be “very far-reaching.”
The Islamic State’s South Asia magazine, Sawt al-Hind (or Voice of the Indian Subcontinent) also confirmed in this weekend’s edition that the suicide bomber had earlier been arrested in New Delhi, in the course of a failed suicide-bombing plot.
You can see why India is mad.
If true, Biden, Austin, and Milley’s actions led to the murder of 13 Americans and undermined the counterterrorism relationship with India.
This is something that Congress needs to be looking at because there is a direct line here between Bagram and the suicide bombing. And that means the decisions by Biden, Austin, and Milley have left the blood of American military personnel on their hands.

………………
Yes–I’ve said the same myself. Not only was the bomber one of the Jihadists locked up at Bagram, but also the air force base was defensible–and defensible by US troops. Kabul airport was not really defensible at all, and we relied first on the Afghan army–such as it was–and then on the bloody Taliban. Just madness from beginning to end.

Seems all of our non-Muslim allies (Great Britain, Israel, India, … ) were upset with how the US pulled out. Maybe even Saudi Arabia was upset.
Think how valuable Bagram would have been AB would have been if the US ever goes to war with Iran for whatever reason !

Hate to post the obvious, but please forgive the repeat in my post above.

The thing I couldn’t figure out is AUKUS – a new alliance that Biden has cobbled together ostensibly to confront China in the Indo-Pacific. A pretty redundant exercise, since 2 of the countries in it – US and Australia – are already a part of the Quad alliance w/ India and Japan, making all of them regional stakeholders, while the one country that has been added – UK – is not local to the region. It’s like adding India or Japan to NATO – that’s how stupid it is
And in the process of doing that, they signed a deal w/ Australia to sell them nuke submarines and totally jettisoning a deal that the latter already had w/ France, which is what caused Macron to recall their envoy to DC. One would have thought that those people obsessed w/ Russia the last 5 years would have pulled something similar to get Germany to buy oil and gas from us instead of from the NordStream pipeline

I don’t think we could maintain Bagram indefinitely with the Taliban back in power in Afghanistan–but certainly that should have been the last place to abandon–and only after all civilians and military personnel were evacuated.

Your comment, g, makes me think of a ship going down and the Captain stays with the ship while all of passengers, if any, and his crew, abandon ship. If he can then get off, it is allowed, but he is supposed to be the last one to leave.
I have watched movies where the Captain went down with the ship because he felt it was his duty not to leave her.
This entire debacle, in my opinion, was on purpose. It left the terrorists in charge with a lot of expensive weapons and a passel of cash with the mozlum world congratulating each other over their victory.
mozlums see this as a bigger victory than it is, and it gives them the idea they can take over the world…as they have threatened.
The “captain” in this …biden…should go down.

America is now led by doofuses—Biden, Harris, Milley, Astin, Blinken, Sullivan, Pelosi, Schumer, Fauci, Walensky, Wray, McConnell, Romney, Big Tech, Big Business, the MSM, the colossal fools aplenty in academia, and even Wall Street, et al. Sadly, it’s a long list. Very long.
How the Hell did America, arguably the greatest polity in man’s history, come to the point that it is now led by utter mediocrities or worse? A long and involved story I would contend.
And tending to prove Polybius’s cyclical view of history. I wish it didn’t but it appears it most certainly does.

Their hands are dripping. Glenn Beck and others have revealed just how guilty these scum are in deciding to leave Americans and others there, but also to keep Beck and others from getting them out…keeping Mr. Beck and others like him from being able to get the planes they leased out of the country with plane loads of people that biden and his crew deliberately abandoned.
They brought terrorists into the country and left citizens behind. And, as this article shows, they are guilty…directly…for those killed in the terror attack at the airport.
They have so much for which to answer. And answer, they most certainly will.

Many Indians (the majority of them, in fact) voted for Biden in the US. That was the worst decision they ever made. Trump was a strong supporter of India and on 24 Feb 2020, when he was in Delhi, and the Moozlums were running riot in Delhi, he did not make any statement to embarrass New Delhi. In contrast, you had Obama, who came to India and lectured them on minority rights (read Muslim here). This guy, Biden has to go and Trump must come back. Biden is very very weak and mentally past his due date.
Infidel says
Yeah, although Trump got more of the Indian-American vote this time than last time, Biden still got the majority for 2 reasons.
One being immigration and the H1B issue – although even as a former immigrant and now citizen, I still support America First restrictions on all immigration – illegal and legal until we attain zero unemployment, and manage to onshore back a lot of sectors. Indian-Americans are doing themselves no favors by supporting higher H1B numbers, as it’s more often than not people who’re gonna compete w/ them for jobs or drag down salaries, just like Hispanics have discovered illegal immigrants as doing
The other being the perception – partly valid – that the GOP, if not Trump, wants to Christianize India, and that’s not been helped by USCIRF reports that used the same sort of propaganda about the CAA that muslims and Leftists used against India not including muslims from those 3 countries in who they gave refuge to for religious persecution. The USCIRF was pretty heavily loaded w/ washed up members of the Christian Coalition, such as Tony Perkins, and they all came down heavily on India for putting the kabash on Christian missionary activity, and equated freedom to practice ones own religion to the freedom to convert others
Otoh, you had the Dems being heavily supportive of the opposition to Modi and the BJP, you had all the 5 Indian-American Dem congresspeople oppose India when Article 370 was repealed, you had Ilhan Omar question India’s status as an ally, and so on. Indian-Americans who voted based on the way the US treats India (I didn’t) would have done well to sit out the election, if they found it impossible to vote for the GOP. I do think it’s rational for Indian-Americans to support the America First agenda but oppose any attempts to force missionaries on India or ding that country for its ‘religious freedom’, when we were discussing just a few threads ago how India ain’t that much different from Pakistan when it comes to the impunity w/ which muslims mistreat Hindus

Australians are horrified with Biden, as Auzzies apparently weren’t warned of the rapid exit and were lucky to get out. Biden with his allah willing, like Islamist Obama is not a supporter of freedom, democracy…but does all he can to fund and arm our Islamic enemies and allow them to flood into america to destroy America. It’s a lefty/Woke/Islamo-fascist/communist movement allied with big tech and big media who hate our beautiful free countries and happily destroy our kids futures. The Indians, Australians, Brits etc need to be very careful of Obama/Biden and crew. Australia has been forced to take Afghan muslims which we don’t want. Why aren’t they sent to other Islamic countries?? This seems to be a way of forcing muslims into the non-muslim world and endangering it while there is no movement of others or freedom for others in the Islamic world. We are committing suicide.
