Orban, in response, noted that today’s migrants “are all Muslims” and said: “I asked Pope Francis not to let Christian Hungary perish.”
But the Pope doesn’t care about Christian Hungary. He sees no obligation to open himself to the thirst of the natives of Europe who want to be safe from jihad and Islamization. His pastoral concern is strictly one-sided.
“Pope urges Orban’s Hungary to be more open to needy outsiders,” by Philip Pullella and Gergely Szakacs, Reuters, September 13, 2021 (thanks to Henry):
Budapest: Pope Francis said on Sunday that Hungary could preserve its Christian roots while opening up to the needy, an apparent response to nationalist Prime Minister Viktor Orban’s stand that Muslim immigration could destroy its heritage.
Francis was in Hungary for an unusually short stay that underlined differences with the anti-immigrant Orban, his political opposite.
Closing a Church congress with a Mass for tens of thousands of people in central Budapest, Francis used the imagery of a cross to show that something as deeply rooted as religious belief did not exclude a welcoming attitude.
“The cross, planted in the ground, not only invites us to be well-rooted, it also raises and extends its arms towards everyone,” he said in his remarks after the Mass.
“The cross urges us to keep our roots firm, but without defensiveness; to draw from the wellsprings, opening ourselves to the thirst of the men and women of our time,” he said at the end of the open-air Mass, which Orban attended with his wife.
“My wish is that you be like that: grounded and open, rooted and considerate,” the Pope said.
Francis has often denounced what he sees as a resurgence of nationalist and populist movements, and has called for European unity, and criticised countries that try to solve the migration crisis with unilateral or isolationist actions.
Orban, by contrast, told the Bled Strategic Forum in Slovenia last week the only solution to migration was for the European Union to “give all rights back to the nation state”.
The Pope has called for migrants to be welcomed and integrated to tackle what he has called Europe’s “demographic winter”. Orban said in Slovenia that today’s migrants “are all Muslims” and that only “the traditional Christian family policy can help us out of that demographic crisis”….
“I asked Pope Francis not to let Christian Hungary perish,” Orban said on Facebook. Hungarian news agency MTI said Orban gave Francis a facsimile of a letter that 13th century King Bela IV sent to Pope Innocent IV asking for help in fighting the Tartars….
Jim says
The Pope lives in an ivory tower called the Vatican. There is a real world, but he has forgotten what it means. He has more protection than the people he rules over, and thinks they have the same safety from enemies that he has.
maria says
The Pope is not a real pope. He is an Argentinian communist, far left and suddenly he became p Catholic priest and via different intrigues he became a “pope”
He is an AntiChrist and should not be allowed to be a Pope
mortimer says
The pope doesn’t have to pay income tax to support illegal migrants. That money should go to the citizens of Hungary and Italy.
john smith says
Well said Maria, as righteous as the pope believes himself to be, he is anything but. He has taken the side of those who wish to harm us, and slaughter us. His spirit is that of the anti-christ, his policies are truly evil.
Peter S Forella says
The pope is a globalist , who cares nothing about Christian values. He sees a one world religion.heresy at best.
Pawson says
First you demonize Muslims, then the pope, who’s next? Your neighbor?
gravenimage says
Note that Pawson here doesn’t say how characterizing Islam as violent is “demonizing Muslims”–nor does he say how objecting to someone demanding that we import hordes of those who adhere to this violent creed is demonizing them.

Stay strong, Victor. Resist the snake oil salesman from Rome.

Pawson says
Forgive them Lord for they don’t know what they do.
gravenimage says
Now Pawson is implying that anyone who objects to bringing in lots of those whose creed tells them to rape, rob, and murder us is the same as those who crucified Jesus. Just *sickening* false moral equivalence.

He told the “bishops” who refused service to baby-killer biden, ‘not to get involved in politics’ but he doesn’t follow his own ‘rule.’ “Do as I say, not as I do,” applies both to what he told his underlings, and what he is telling the leaders of nations and all of the abuse he has heaped on Christians.
He isn’t out there stretching his neck for the sword, he doesn’t have little daughters that mozlum rapists are ravening to destroy, and he’s not inviting them into ‘his’ household so they can eat, and whine about the food, sleep in his bed and soil it, bend and bow to satan on ‘his’ carpet, so it’s “do as I say, not as I do,” because, i pope guy, am a hypocrite of the worst kind; ‘What does Jesus Christ think of me? I don’t give a care what He thinks; I’m in charge now.’
This guy is an ad for how to be evil and pretend to be holy. Slap the hand of the little woman who wanted his help in a touch, and order everyone else to welcome those intent on forcing obedience and submission to satan the devil.

Clifford Fodor says
The good news is that there is a prophecy other than in the Bible that said the last pope will be evil before the 2nd coming of our Lord. Hopefully, we won’t have to endure too many years of this evil pope.
john smith says
True Clifford, this prophecy was by Saint Francis of Assisi about a future pope (ironically this pope was named after him) .
This is part of that prophecy, “A Man not Canonically Elected, will be raised to Pontificate..In those days Jesus Christ will send them not a true Pastor, but a Destroyer”.
According to wikileaks pope Francis wasn’t canonically elected, he was installed by George Soros who paid the Vatican hierarchy vast amounts of money to force Pope Benedict to resign.

Thank you, for providing that information and to John for the added part.
Want to read something that could be labeled “believe it or not”?
Back in 2013 when all of the stuff was going on with the ‘choosing’ of a new pope…not being Catholic, I don’t pretend to know much about the whole setup…my daughter and I were listening to the news on tv and one of the reporters wondered to the audience what name the new pope would choose for himself.
I looked at my daughter and said, “Francis.” She said, “What,” and I said that’s what he’s gonna call himself, whoever it is they choose to be pope.
When the choice was made, the white smoke and all that, and they said the name he had chosen….well, you might be able to imagine how I felt.
I didn’t really care, not looking to him for guidance, but I think he chose wrong, because of there being a real Francis and how this guy is a fake shepherd.
Spideyweb1 says
Bravo.. I’m a devout Catholic and this “Pope” is the epitome of all hypocrisy. Satan has a man on the inside with him.. Marxist dictator from Rome.. Shame on him… Christ will prevail.. not the gates of hell against her Church.

I have contempt for this man, an antithetical “christian”. This man is very poor in the knowledge of God’s word and equally pathetic in mixing his globalist ideology and with his inept knowledge of Christ’s teaching.

Luke 14:27 “Whoever does not carry his own cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple.
Philippians 2: 8 Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.
This man is fake and preaching loony stuff with “trendy” economics. Which cross is he referring to? Some modern day cross?
If wellsprings are in Hungary, why are they not in Sharia states?
Let them enjoy Sharia and enjoy misery, If God/natural law allows that what is his problem?

Well said. And just to add one little thought: Jesus said if one denies Him on earth, Jesus will deny that one to His Father in heaven.
mozlums “deny” that Jesus is God’s Son and the Only Way to the Father. By propping up mozlums everywhere and demanding that Christians accept and help them, (he calls mozlums “brothers”), this fool, lying, pretend “shepherd,” is also denying Christ.
Pure evil, indeed.

Good response from Prime Minister Orban. Now, if only he was as sensitive to other Christian countries, such as Armenia, and stopped playing footsie w/ countries such as Turkey, Azerbaijan and China
GreekEmpress says
Right, Infidel,
I can’t figure that out either. Hungary, Greece, etc. spent centuries under the Ottoman boot. And Erdogan wants to put them back under it again.
Infidel says
I do have an explanation: it’s that after decades of state sponsored atheism, people of the former Soviet bloc are turning to not religion, but ethnicity to discover their compatriots. It explains, in the -stans, why Azerbaijan is pro-Turkey despite being shi’a like Iran, while Tajikistan started out as pro-Iran despite being sunni, but is now leaning more towards Zoroastrianism, since they had a fallout w/ Iran. Similarly, Hungary is looking for ethnic comrades, and seems to think that the Turkic people are it (not sure about the relations b/w Magyars and Turks), and so they’re also an associate member of the Turkic council
gravenimage says
Sadly likely the case, Infidel.
Wellington says
Seems this Pope, arguably the most destructive pontifex maximus in papal history, doesn’t realize that Christianity is not a suicide pact.
Additionally, all Far Left and Far Right ideologies, secular or religious, are totalitarian in nature, inflexible, mortal enemies of freedom and always needing some “other” to hate. Islam is a Far Right ideology (and no other major faith is either Far Right or Far Left) and it matters not that many Muslims do not implement all of Islam’s dictates. Many Nazis and Communists did not implement all of their respective ideology’s dictates but this never made Nazism and Marxism all right.
Islam is completely incompatible with Western Civilization. It detests liberty, full equality under the law, is ungracious, parasitical, inimical to the female gender, and by its own admission seeks eventually to place all the world under Islamic domination (no more dar al-harb, everything part of the dar al-Islam).
Orban is on the right track about Islam and Pope Francis is on a negative track so awful that decimation and destruction awaits the West everywhere if he continues to get his way. Francis is at best a colossal fool, at worst something far worse than merely colossally foolish. Following Francis on the matter of Islam and Muslims will make the West into what the Islamic sphere of mankind already is, i.e., an intellectual wasteland where repression exists everywhere.
tim gallagher says
Spot on, Wellington. I agree with everything you said there, and especially that being a Christian doesn’t mean you have to be so welcoming, as in welcoming barbaric Muslims, that you commit suicide or that being a Christian simply means being a doormat and you have to let this vile enemy of our entire civilisation, Islam, into your country. I wonder if this fool of a Pope knows that Muslims are killing Christians every day in many African countries. He should concentrate on defending and protecting Christians, not being cosy with the Muslim enemies of Christianity.
Wellington says
Too bad, Tim, that Francis isn’t like his immediate predecessor. Benedict XVI, who comprehended Islam’s “true worth” rather well (I still can’t dismiss the possibility that Benedict was forced to resign behind the scenes). This present Pope is to Catholicism what Biden is to America—an utter disaster.
tim gallagher says
Wellington, I agree that this Pope is a disaster although I suspect that many Catholics don’t give a rat’s arse what he thinks. I am a Christian and a Catholic (well, sort of, I see myself as maybe more of an Anglican because I disagree with Catholicism’s obligatory celibacy for clergy and the opposition to women priests) and take no notice of this embarrassing Pope, especially on the topic of Islam. I barely noticed Benedict. He seemed to be there for such a short time. Biden is even more of a worry. He is in a far more important position (for the entire world) and is way too far gone mentally to do that job. You can’t simply ignore Biden’s crap, which you can do with the Pope, because Biden’s decisions really do have extremely important consequences for all of us.
Raja says
Wellington,
Great Comments as usual.
Wellington says
Thank you, Raja.

Until I watched the excellent movie “Walking With The Enemy” I was unaware of all the turmoil Hungary has been through, especially during the WWII years. Good for Orban. Hungary has a leader who knows his history.
James Lincoln says
Prime Minister Viktor Orban’s made one mistake:
He should’ve banned Pope Francis from entering Hungary.
It would have sent a strong message…
somehistory says
He could do that now. Tell him not to let the door hit him on his way out and change all the locks on the doors.
Infidel says
Only problem: of all the Christian denominations out there, Hungary happens to be Catholic. It would have been easier to ban the Pope had Hungary been, say, Eastern Orthodox
gravenimage says
Unfortunately, Infidel, many Orthodox leaders are as bad.
Here is Patriarch Kirill, the head of the Russian Orthodox Church:
“Patriarch Kirill: “Our common task is to counter demonization of Islam””
https://tatarstan.ru/eng/index.htm/news/694472.htm
All he *really* hates is the West. He blames things like same-sex marriage for the “tension” between Christians in the West and Islam. Not like Jihad terror has anything to do with it–he blames this equally on Muslims and Christians “who behave themselves inappropriately”.
Infidel says
The Russian church is just one case (albeit the largest), and that too b’cos of Putin’s influence w/ Sergey Kirill. But in other places – the Greek church, if you recall, did something some months back to upset the Turks/muslims, which seems reassuring. I don’t know where the Ethiopian church stands, but I don’t blame the Egyptian Copts for being ‘islamochristian’, given that they’re based in a 90+% muslim country
It’s different from countries like Italy, Britain, Germany, Sweden, et al which have no reason to be pro muslim or pro islamic, but are
gravenimage says
Infidel, it is true that Egyptian Christians are threatened dhimmis who cannot speak freely, The same should not be true of Russian and Greek Christians.
Raja says
Infidel,
I always contend that the more traditional a “church” is, the more woke the so called priest is. The result: Wokeness everywhere! people go bonkers.
Should anyone be surprised at all?
gravenimage says
Actually, a lot of less traditional denominations, such as the Unitarians and the Quakers, are if possible even more “woke”.
James Lincoln says
Infidel,
Perhaps it would prompt the Catholics in Hungary to ask the reason WHY the Pope was banned.
It could start a worldwide dialogue…
somehistory says
My thoughts are along the same lines. If he was banned….and Catholics asked “why,”…they could be informed as to his coziness with satan’s children and his demands that they be the same.
Raja says
James Lincoln,
Good proposition…Hope this becomes reality in all the “Christian” nations. (There is nothing called Christian nation)
Alternatively, he is welcome to Islamic nations if he has circumcision done and ….You see, age should not be an hindrance to enter the “paradise” of 72 bosomy virgins and pearly boys!
Mike says
the question is to this POPE how many has the Vatican brought it
and if none WHY NOT
tim gallagher says
I remember from reading Robert Spencer’s book, “The History of Jihad” that there were Popes and other church leaders back at around the time of the Crusades who identified Islam as the evil ideology it is. This present day Pope is one to ignore. His attitude to islam is idiotic. I’m sure that Orban would take no notice of this present Pope’s ignorant ideas about islam, about which he is so deluded that he thinks that islam is “peaceful”. I wonder what the Polish Pope, John Paul II, (I think that was his name wasn’t it?) who helped smash Communism, would say about islam. He seemed to be a fearless person and I suspect that he would have called Islam out as the evil thing that it is. This current left wing Pope is someone that I ignore completely. There is no excuse for his ignorance about islam’s true nature.

Vatican City in more than just a citiy .It’s a recognized State by the UN . Vatican city even has it’s own national flag , bank and issues its own postage stamps.
The point being , pope Francis should practice what he preaches and receive Muslim migrants into the Vatican nation to live instead of trying to force the head of another nation to take in those Muslim migrants , some of whom might be dangerous jihadists or criminals.
Walter Sieruk says
Pope Francis is safe inside his papal palace , with his Swiss guards and his Vatican police force ,from violent and deadly jihadists attacks ,unlike the typical citizen of the nation of Hungry.
By the way. isn’t it right that the tall ,thick strong walls that surround Vatican city originally constructed to keep the Muslims out ?
CogitoErgoSum says
My question to the Pope is this: Just what is the one thing for which these migrants thirst? Do they hunger for the body and blood of Christ? Are they seeking to be baptized into the Catholic Church? Do they really see the Cross of Christ as a symbol of salvation or do they actually hold it in contempt? Personally, I think they want to replace Christianity with Islam – and unless you, Pope Francis, are able to convince me otherwise I will continue to see helping these people in their effort to overrun Europe as being the same as driving nails into the hands and feet of Christ and I will see you, Pope France, as being no better than Judas Iscariot.
James Lincoln says
CogitoErgoSum,
Perfectly stated, my compliments.
Prince Eugene says

Goofy says
It is amazing that the Pope is so Islam friendly considering that it denies everything which makes Jesus Christ the Lord and Saviour of all Christians, he being the Son of God who died on the cross for sinners that we may have eternal life.
That the Roman Catholic church has found “elements of truth” in Islam is an abomination and it makes Islam a religion of blasphemy.
In this way Islam is even more blasphemous than the Roman Catholic church with its so-called Holy Father, a title which belongs to God alone!
What the two religions have in common is their absolute neglect of their own scriptures. In the Qur’an Jesus as a little boy made doves from clay and blew life into them, an act of creation which only God can perform!
It is amazing that the Pope has never raised his voice against Muslims decapitating church goers in their own churches and he has never condemned “Love Jihad” which entails kidnapping of Christian and Hindu girls for forced conversion to Islam and forced “marriage” with Muslim men for sexual exploitation.
In the Old testament there are numerous references to “shepherds”, almost all of them criticizing them for their corruption and exploitation of their sheep. This is why Jesus refers to himself as the “good shepherd”. The Pope is a representative of the corrupt shepherd tradition.
Giacomo Latta says
From the photograph it appears that Orban is first checking to see if anybody’s home. Good decision.
Dorothy Davies says
I thank God for Victor Orban. He is rightly named. I wish I could live in a country that stood up for our Christian heritage, instead of in a “secular” state that the once-great Britain has become. I would gladly welcome the persecuted Afghan Christians and the Pakistani Christians. It is a pity the Pope is so secular.
Rooster says
If I were Orban I would ban the Pope from Hungary. Muslims are all about themselves and will cause havoc to all who do not conform to Islam. Ametica is a prime example of how Islam has become a cancer to democracy. If I had my way there would be no Muslims in America, LOL so much for my way.
BE SMART ORBAN AND DO NIT ALLIW MUSLIMS IN HUNGARY!!!!
OLD GUY says
The Pope is the shepherd of his Catholic flock the same as a shepherd of sheep it is his responsibility to protect the flock from the wolves and danger. His actions are putting Christians in grave danger. WHY?
Pawson says
Because he’s a Christian and that’s what Christians do, namely witness to Truth even if this puts one’s life in danger.
somehistory says
Christians witness to the Truth, being willing to put their own lives in danger. This guy doesn’t put his own life in danger. He endangers others with his fool’s words and demands to Christians.
He can’t even bear to be touched by a woman who wanted his blessing. He slapped her hand and had such an evil look on his face. No Christian is he.
gravenimage says
The claim that allowing in hordes of dangerous Muslims is being a witness to truth makes no sense at all.
And this doesn’t just endanger those who make the decisions, but also all of the innocents who will die in Jihad terror attacks–most of whom have not asked for this.
The claim that Christianity demands that you put others in danger is madness–where has this ever been preached?
Arclight says
Stand your ground Mr.Orbin , The Vatican sponsored carpet bagger is a new world order foot soldier .
Pawson says
The pope is right and anybody that doesn’t agree rejects Christ’s teaching about loving, hating, enemies. Hatemongering isn’t a Christian thing, charity and love are. Christians are not Muslim and we mustn’t act as some Muslims do, namely hate, murder, deceive. Romans 12:17-21
somehistory says
This ‘pope’ doesn’t have Christ’s teaching…about anything. He is a pretend ‘shepherd’ and is a “wolf in sheep’s clothing.”
This guy even contradicted the Bible, saying it was wrong. No true follower of Christ would even think about saying such a thing, or even to begin to think that the Bible is wrong and an imperfect human can point out its error.
And he has called on Christians to bring these killers into their homes…when the Apostle John wrote under inspiration and direction from Christ, “If anyone does not bring this teaching, never invite him in to your homes or say a greeting to him.”
And way back in the Book of Psalms, we are told to “Hate was is bad.” Hate is acceptable when it is directed at evil. It is commanded against evil.
The 5th Proverb even tells us what our Father in Heaven hates, and Jesus commanded us to “Be as your Father in Heaven.” So, we are commanded to hate “lying tongues, hands shedding innocent blood, feet hurrying to badness, a heart fabricating hurtful schemes,” and these things mozlums do and are taught to do.
Lumping “murder and deceive” in with your comment is misleading as no one here is saying that Christians should lie or murder.
As for “charity,” the Apostle Peter said that he had nothing to give, except the Good news. And the “charity” in the Bible was directed toward other faithful ones, not toward their enemies who hated and wanted to kill them and to keep them from preaching the good news.
Read the Bible and then compare what it actually says opposed to what this creature is dishing out.
gravenimage says
You can love your enemies without inviting them in to rape and murder your children. Is Pawson here saying that we should have invited in hordes of Nazis during the Second World War?
Then, the idea that objecting to Muslims flooding into our lands is morally the same as raping, robbing, and murdering is grotesque false moral equivalence.
And how is telling the truth about Islam and example of deception? Of course, Pawson does not say.
Then, his claim that Romans 12:17-21 says that you have to let your enemies into your own home is quite false.
gravenimage says
Further, note that Pawson has never once said *anything* critical of Jihad here–and in fact has never posted here until today, and then only to excoriate good Anti-Jihadists for daring to say anything critical of Jihad. *Ugh*.
Prince Eugene says
Beginning In The 14th Century
Muslims attacked Hungary for 150 years. Finally after the Battle of Mohacs in 1526, the Jihad conquered the land and enslaved the people. For the next 192 years Muslims devastated the Hungarian Christians. Freedom for the remaining few was finally restored in 1718 through the efforts of Prince Eugene of Savoy and the Holy League. Hungary had to be re-populated by native Germans. Victor Orban knows what the invasions of Muslims bring and opposes that nincompoop bishop. Thank God.
