India Today misrepresents Zabiullah Mujahid’s words in its headline, saying that he said there was “no excuse for any group to kill in the name of Islam.”
In reality, he said: “There is no excuse for any group in the name of Islam to carry out any attack or kill the people or make the war last. The people of Afghanistan, as a nation, have the right to live a peaceful life, and we will work hard in this regard.”
Clearly he is referring to the Islamic State killing Afghan people, as he refers first to “the people” and then “the people of Afghanistan.” His statement is based on Qur’an 4:92, which forbids Muslims to kill other Muslims. However, Islamic law also mandates death for heresy and apostasy, and it is on that basis that the Islamic State (ISIS) kills people who reject its claim to be the caliphate, the sole authority to which all Muslims theoretically owe allegiance.
For India Today to represent this as Zabiullah Mujahid saying that it’s wrong to kill in the name of Islam is the height of journalistic irresponsibility.
“No excuse for any group to kill in the name of Islam: Taliban spokesperson on ISIS-K | Exclusive,” IndiaToday, August 30, 2021 (thanks to Henry):
Firmly repudiating terror outfit ISIS-K and its activities in Afghanistan, Taliban spokesperson Zabiullah Mujahid said there can be no justification for any group to kill innocent people in the name of Islam.
In an exclusive conversation with India Today, Zabiullah Mujahid denounced the suicide bombing at the Kabul international airport on Thursday which killed at least 169 Afghans and 13 US service members. The ISIS-K has claimed responsibility for the deadly attack.
“There is no excuse for any group in the name of Islam to carry out any attack or kill the people or make the war last. The people of Afghanistan, as a nation, have the right to live a peaceful life, and we will work hard in this regard,” he said.
Asked how the ISIS-K suicide bomber managed to evade Taliban checkpoints and patrolmen to reach the perimeter of the Kabul airport, Zabiullah Mujahid claimed it was not a security slip-up on their part and the US military is in charge of the area where the attack took place….

There is a stoned-to-death woman and a slaughtered musician whose deaths testify that the Taliban have many excuses to kill.
How can you tell if a Taliban is lying? He’s carrying a gun to help you believe.

IN Islam’s horrendous, totally evil 1400 year history, I believe that over 270 million people have been slaughtered by Muslim scum, so, of course, what the the India Today reports would be utter bullshit. Anything any Taliban sadistic scumbag says is bound to be a lie anyway. They will soon be murdering endless people in Afghanistan. Peace and Islam do not go together. They never have and they never will. Murderous violence is in islam’s DNA.

Thanks, Michael. I’d say that that is perfect summary of what is at the core of islam, this evil, murderous ideology, despite all those clowns who still don’t seem to get it and keep telling us that islam is basically peaceful..

India Today claims Taliban spokesman said there’s no excuse to kill in the name of Islam; he didn’t say that
………………
More foolish Infidel whitewash of Islam, intentional or otherwise.
Infidel says
India Today has devolved from what used to be an objective news organization in the 80s to a mouthpiece of secular i.e. pro-muslim Indians today. And they’ve fallen behind the likes of rags like The Print, The Wire and Quint, since the latter is like Politico, Buzzfeed and Axios here in this country
peter says
You are right but when they say secular in India they mean leftist media anything that is opposed to right wing ideology or BJP . India Today is very similar to MSNBC ,NBC ,CBS etc .I will assume whatever these so called “secular media” says ,the opposite must be true .
JimJFox says
“secular i.e. pro-muslim”
How did you arrive at this ridiculous assertion?
Infidel says
Anybody who knows the first thing about India knows that for a fact!
gravenimage says
Not all secularists are pro-Muslim.
Infidel says
All the ones in India are!
peter says
I would agree . Secular means in Indian context pro-muslim .Unfortunately very true .
