Doesn’t Attia Adlan know what every non-Muslim politician in the West knows with unshakeable certainty, that jihad terror groups have nothing whatsoever to do with Islam? How did Attia Adlan come to misunderstand Islam in this way?
“Member Of Qatar-Supported International Union Of Muslims [sic] Scholars: The Taliban Are Paragons Of Steadfast Jihad; We Do Not Fear Them But Fear For Them,” MEMRI, September 1, 2021:
Following the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan and the Taliban’s rise to power there, religious scholar Dr. Attia ‘Adlan, a former Egyptian MP and current member of the International Union Of Muslims Scholars (IUMS), which is supported by Qatar and Turkey, published an article on the IUMS website in which he defended the Taliban against its detractors….
It should be noted that other members of the IUMS published articles in a similar vein, in which they welcomed the Taliban’s return to power and the expulsion of the Americans from the country.[1]
The following are translated excerpts from ‘Adlan’s article.[2]
“The current situation of the [Islamic] nation is puzzling! Is [this nation] so steeped in sorrow that it is incapable of feeling joy? Or has it fallen [so often] into the traps on the path of death that it has begun looking around [in fear] even when treading on safe and level ground, because ‘once bitten, twice shy,’ as they say[?] Although I find it puzzling, I understand this anomalous situation and treat is as a short and passing illness. But what troubles and disgusts me is the concern expressed in public by ‘Muslim intellectuals’… who apparently fear that [all] the achievements of human civilization [will be lost] because of these course desert people [the Taliban], who have overthrown the ‘civilization of Kabul,’ and whose ‘extremism’ now threatens women’s freedom and the rules of the democratic game.
“They say [the Taliban and the U.S.] made a deal. So what? Where is the shame in that?!… [Perhaps] such deals will enable us, if not to [actually] rule Egypt, Syria, Libya, Yemen, Iraq, Lebanon and Tunisia, then at least to release the detainees and abductees, rescue those who have been sentenced to death and return the preachers to their mosques and the exiles to their countries. The world of politics is a big bazar where wild beasts and hyenas struggle [for survival], all based on deals and on intersecting interests, and in which [transactions] are made in interests rather than cash. The Treaty of Hudaybiyya,[3] for example, was a deal which the Prophet’s companions regarded as a humiliating compromise – until the extent of the achievements [it afforded] became apparent, [achievements] that had been concealed under a thin outer layer of flaws and concessions, which was all that could be seen at the time.
“I do not fear the Taliban. On the contrary, I fear for them. I am not concerned about [the fate of] Afghanistan under the Taliban or about the future or reputation of Islamic action. First, because the [Taliban] are admirable people, all of them graduates of Deobandi shari’a schools, [4] known for their independence, ingenious teaching methods, sound education and rightly-guided curricula. Second, because they are Maturidi Hanafis[5] who do not deviate from the tradition and do not commit sins… and who, thanks to their steadfastness and jihad, have become a byword for their power, impact, persistence, patience and honesty, for their organizational awareness and military maturity, and for their outstanding ability to maneuver and manage their struggle. The third reason is that, when they rose [to power after the American] withdrawal, they did what was expected of them and extended their hand in forgiveness, avoided taking revenge [on their rivals] and spread genuine security and calm in the land….
“The future importance of the Taliban’s experience lies in the [fact that] the Islamic world needs a role model… which will restore its revolutionary [fervor] and renew its achievements, so it can begin the process of building: constructing an [Islamic] state, an economy and all the cultural systems. We are optimistic about this experience, welcome it and [believe that] good tidings will soon be coming out of Kabul…”
Walter Sieruk says
That the International Union of Muslim Scholars actually praise the Taliban’s steadfastness” in their jihad is revealing that they really are of the same Islamic mindset of the violent and murderous jihad as the Taliban. Therefore the I.U.MS. are just a evil as the Taliban.
In addition, when the Bible is read through the reader will discover someone else who is very “steadfast” in pursuit of his goal. That “someone” is Satan.
Furthermore, concerning the I.U.M.s giving praise to the Taliban . The Bible teaches ” Those who forsake the law praise the wicked, bur such a keep the law contend with them.”
Proverbs 28:4.[N.K.J.V.]
Michael Copeland says
How did Attia Adlan come to misunderstand Islam in this way?
Obviously he has “distorted ideology”.
The Police Chief of Counter Terrorism South East knows that.
Beneath the Veil of Consciousness says
What a despicable, lying, deceitful, filthy pig (and no, not Biden, though he fits this description quite well).
tim gallagher says
These moronically stupid Muslim “scholars” actually have an International Union. Imagine the drivel spoken if the members of the Union ever get together. From many of the statements that come out of these Muslim “scholars”, I think that Muslim “scholars”, who I guess have rotted their brains by reading that piece of evil crap, the Koran, too many times, have to have IQs below 40 points or they are considered too intelligent to become a Muslim “scholar”. As for this report where one of these “scholars” praises the taliban for “steadfastness and jihad”, I think he is really praising the total murderous viciousness and inhumanity of the Taliban, which, of course, makes the Taliban very much devout, pure Muslims. The more inhuman and the more evil and murderous a creature is, the more of a pure Muslim that creature is.
Michael Copeland says
“The essence of his doctrine was violence and lust: to exalt the brutal over the spiritual part of human nature.”
— John Quincy Adams,
sixth president of the United States

Michael, I commented on John Quincy Adams’ opinion about Islam on that report of necrophilia with Raymond Ibrahim. I personally find that Adams’ opinion about islam’s vile nature, which I recall that that quote comes from, is the best comment that I have read about islam’s nature. I read it, and many other people’s comments on Wikislam I think it was, and Adams’ comment impressed me most of all.
Michael Copeland says
Adams did what no modern Western leader has done.
He informed himself about Islam.
More shame on today’s leaders.
tim gallagher says
That’s right, Michael. I thought that Adams saw islam very clearly and, from what I recall of his opinions about islam, which included that quote, his comparison between Christianity, with its high ideals and spiritual aspect, and the evil and vicious and this worldly focus of Islam was spot on in my opinion.

Yes–and John Quincy Adams’ father John and fellow Founding Father Thomas Jefferson also educated themselves about Islam.

Tim, the International Union of Muslim Scholars (IUMS) has issued Fatwas in favor of suicide bombing. They also sacralized Jihad against the US re Iraq, saying this was obligatory for all Muslims, inside Iraq or out. They have also called for the destruction of art and shrines–including some Shia ones in Iran. They are pro-Hamas. They have condemned the cartoonists at Charlie Hebdo for daring to criticize Islam.
Insanely, *Ireland* has allowed them to headquarter there. Sickening dhimmitude.
tim gallagher says
Clearly, a delightful bunch of people, gravenimage, there’s no doubt about that. That list of things they have done is pretty much what I would expect. And Ireland has welcomed them there. Absolutely unbelievable. That really does qualify as one of those things where you say, “No, you truly couldn’t make that up, it can’t possibly be true”. Was Ireland paid a huge amount of money by the oil rich Muslims to have the Union of scumbag “scholars” there? Surely, that would have to be the only possible reason for Ireland to allow that mob to headquarter there. As you say, a sickening level of dhimmitude. It is also a bit weird that, with so many Irish people having gone to the USA, Ireland would support a mob who sacralised Jihad against the USA. It is such a bizarre world these days.
gravenimage says
Tim, I doubt that these Jihadists actually bribed Ireland. I think it is more that the Irish are not paying attention and are in denial, and assume that an organization of religious scholars is perfectly acceptable.
tim gallagher says
Probably you are right, gravenimage. But I don’t see how it makes sense to have this “august”, “honourable” body of scumbags headquartered in a non-Muslim country. It seems to me that it should be headquartered in Saudi Arabia or Qatar or even Turkey, as turkey seems to want to be a big time Muslim leader. This being in denial caper when it comes to islam is all too common.
gravenimage says
True, Tim–it is just grotesque,
mortimer says
No TG, the Muslim scholars are not stupid, but thoroughly convinced that their primary source texts are of divine origin. Their conclusions are derived from those fabricated, spurious forgeries.
Meanwhile, know-nothing Western politicians cannot understand that the well-informed International Union Of Muslims [sic] Scholars represents authentic Islam, and that their support for the Taliban savages is based on authentic Islamic principles.
tim gallagher says
Thanks for the comment, mortimer. I probably just like to insult these Muslim “scholars”.Probably some of them are quite smart. They would know the Koran inside out no doubt. I started calling them dumb after reading a report here at Jihad watch where a supposed Muslim or islamic scholar said that Covid was caused by women showing their ankles or some such idea. A brilliant scientist that Muslim scholar was. You are right about how our know-nothing politicians continue to learn absolutely nothing at all about islam’s true nature, and by remaining so uninformed, endanger all of us with their policies..
gregbeetham says
‘do not commit sins’
Self delusion and hypocrisy to the max, the Taliban commit murder in case you missed that part.
‘honesty’
The Taliban practise lying and deception like all Muslims do; and of course in the Muslim world that is a virtue which is the Muslim version of honesty.
‘extended their hand in forgiveness, avoided taking revenge [on their rivals] and spread genuine security and calm in the land’
More self delusion and hypocrisy to the max, the Taliban commit revenge torture and murder in case you missed that part.
The article is just more Islamic snake oil and hypocrisy.
gravenimage says
Murder–so long as the victims are Infidels or “heretics” or the “insufficiently Islamic”–is not a sin in Islam.
gregbeetham says
Yes of course that is correct but I’m judging them by our standards, I don’t care what their demonic pagan rituals allow.
gravenimage says
Agreed, Greg.

International Union of Muslim Scholars member praises Taliban’s ‘steadfastness and jihad’
………………
More proof that the bloody Taliban is perfectly Islamic.
Is anyone saying that the International Union of Muslim Scholars knows nothing about Islam?
More:
The Treaty of Hudaybiyya for example, was a deal which the Prophet’s companions regarded as a humiliating compromise – until the extent of the achievements [it afforded] became apparent, [achievements] that had been concealed under a thin outer layer of flaws and concessions, which was all that could be seen at the time.
In other words, once Islam had achieved enough military might Muhammed violated the treaty. This is orthodox Islam.
Attia Adlan was also a big supporter of the vicious Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt.
OLD GUY says
Ok who and what is the INTERNATIONAL UNION OF MUSLIM SCHOLARS? Sounds like a made up organization to make muslims/islamic men sound more important and educated. Sounds like a cover for their 14th century ideology of love and peace.
