“When you meet the unbelievers, strike the necks…” (Qur’an 47:4)
The Crusaders were not, as the ever-witless Daily Mail claims here, a Christian invasion. They were a late and small-scale defensive action after 450 years of jihad attacks had conquered what had before then been half of the Christian world. Get the facts in The History of Jihad.
“Mass grave of 25 Christian soldiers who were attacked from behind or decapitated during a 13th century Crusade is unearthed in Lebanon,” by Stacy Liberatore, DailyMail.com, September 18, 2021 (thanks to The Religion of Peace):
A pair of mass grave containing 25 Crusaders who were slaughtered during a 13th-century war in the Holy Land have been unearthed in Lebanon.
A team of international archaeologist uncovered the gruesome scene at Sidon Castle on the eastern Mediterranean coast of south Lebanon.
Wounds on the remains suggests the soldiers died at the end of swords, maces and arrows, and charring on some bones means they were burned after being dropped into the pit.
Other remains show markings on the neck, which likely means these individuals were captured on the battlefield and later decapitated.
Historical records written by crusaders show that Sidon was attacked and destroyed in 1253 by Mamluk troops, and again in 1260 by Mongols, and the soldiers found in the mass graves likely perished in one of these battles.
The Crusades were a series of religious wars fought between 1095 and 1291, in which Christian invaders tried to claim the near East, including Lebanon where the 25 dead soldiers were found.
The mass graves were found within the town walls and were rectilinear grave pits that also contained artifacts that belonged to the Crusaders.
‘Within the grave pit (burial 110) a wide variety of artefacts were observed dispersed amongst the human and non-human bones, with no immediate patterning evident, reads the study published in the journal PLOS ONE….
Archaeologists knew the remains belonged to Crusaders after discovering the European style belt buckles and a crusader coin within the graves.
DNA and isotope analyses of their teeth further confirmed that some of the men were born in Europe, while others were the offspring of crusader settlers who migrated to the ‘Holy Land’ and intermarried with local people.
The team ventured into the grave pits to take a closer look at the pile of bones that showed many of the soldiers were attacked from behind as they were running away from battle.
Others have sword wounds across the back of the neck, indicating they were possibly captives executed by decapitation after the battle….

People have no idea, really, what Islam is all about and where Europe is heading until they study for themselves the history of this religion and how it spread like wildfire throughout the Middle East and North Africa shortly after Muhammad’s death. I don’t even think a lot of people are aware that Spain was under Muslim rule for almost 800 years, Bulgaria for 500 years, and that Turkey (Asia Minor) used to be part of the East Roman empire (Byzantium) until the Muslims had conquered it all by 1453, when Constantinople finally fall into their hands. But how are people supposed to know, when they’re not even taught about these crucial historical events in primary school?
Keys says
Right on, Johnny B !
The Muslims got all the way to Vienna in 1529 (1529 Siege of Vienna). Then again all the way to Vienna in 1683 (1683 Battle of Vienna).
Not to mention their invasion of Spain, and even attacks on Iceland (Barbary Corsair raid on Iceland in 1627) where they captured about 400+ “white” slaves and killed dozens of people.
Wellington says
Just to add to what you noted, Keys, and as detailed by Robert Davis, Professor of History at The Ohio State University, in his work, “Christian Slaves, Muslim Masters” (2003), a great deal of slavery of white Christians occurred by Muslims from North Africa.
Just from around 1500-1650, let alone in earlier and later years, some one million white Christians were enslaved by Muslims who reached as far as northern Europe engaging in their slavery “expeditions,” for instance in England, especially along the southern English coast, for instance in Cornwall. And, mon Dieu, some of these Muslims were blacks enslaving whites. Bet this isn’t taught in the school systems of America and other Western nations because a search for the truth, the full truth, and nothing but the truth has been replaced with political correctness, idiotic multiculturalism and moronic wokeness, all in pursuit of a warped agenda which has as its ultimate goal the demonization of Western Civilization.
Phony world we live. Damn stupid world too. You betcha’.

Lessons like these should be taught like real American history to elementary kids in America, the UK, France Germany, Spain, Poland, and others. Sadly – people are so pathetic they are
more worried about Facebook posts on their phones than know the truth. Ignorance is never ending.

Good point Myron.
In any event few Americans even know who we were fighting in WWII. Don’t believe me? Just ask a few under 30s but prepare to be shocked. When asked “When was World War II?” half of them will reply: “You mean there were two of them?”.

When will this goddamn religion END?
The fact that it has gone on for so long and is THRIVING shows there is NO GOD.
We are all a fluke of whirling random atoms, which have coalesced in the most BLOODY WAY in MUSLIMS.
CogitoErgoSum says
I find it most curious that random atoms could pop out of nowhere but yet something that may have created those atoms cannot possibly exist. However, I do admit it’s too much for my brain … so there’s that.
Raja says
Otter,
With all due respect to you. The Creator God has narrated in the scriptures that things have gone awry indeed and that we are in a fallen world, thanks to the rebellious nature of man. This should not negate God in any way.
Clifford Fodor says
The Second Coming is about the Lord Jesus turning the armies of the anti-Christ into a lake of blood and saving His people Israel and His elect the Church.
Also, God uses evil men to punish His people when they turn in error. Do we not here in America, the Western world, and even in Israel allow homosexuals to marry? Isn’t abortion one of our sacred rights? Isn’t money and wealth the real god we truly worship? Isn’t our divorce rate the highest it’s ever been?
Rarely says
We could, of course, return to the Glorious Middle Ages when homosexuality, divorce, abortion and vaccination did not exist. Oh, for the Good Old Days.
CogitoErgoSum says
Rarely, you piqued my curiosity about vaccinations. Apparently, even before the time of Christ there was a practice known as variolation that consisted of taking scrapings from the sores of a person with smallpox and then scratching them into the skin of another person so the effects of the disease would be less severe in the second person than in the first. I think homosexuality, divorce and abortion were around even before the Middle Ages also. Just some of the other things probably not taught in our schools anymore …. except maybe homosexuality.

OTTER,
Muslims are against everything Christianity stands for, and while Christianity has its problems, we sure don’t kill EVERYBODY…
And run brutal totalitarian dictatorships…
Like every single atheist run country in the world does.
somehistory says
It’s not really Christianity with the ‘problems.’ It’s the imperfect people who are Christians and attempt, in imperfection, to follow the Perfect Christ.
Some people claiming to be Christians don’t try very hard to follow Him, and some claiming, do so for personal gain and not because they truly believe in Jesus. Their lies and pretense hurt the reputation of the belief and the perfect model Jesus set for us, and the commands He gave us.
Christianity is far and away the Best Way to live…even in imperfection.
mortimer says
The continued hammering that Islam gave to Christendom during the first 500 years of Islam led to the limited counterattacks of the Crusades. Christian Europe wanted to retake the holy places in the Holy Land so that pilgrims could visit them unmolested and return to Europe safely without being enslaved by Muslims who had the bad habit of enslaving commoners and holding aristocrats for substantial ransoms. Enough was enough when the Muslims kept hammering at Constantinople. The request of the patriarch of Constantinople for military support from Rome led to the start of the Crusades.
The military part of the Crusades was rather confused and unprofessional, but the Crusades did slow the attacks of Islam upon Europe since Europe took the battle to the Muslim east.
The archeological site in Lebanon shows the habits of Muslim warriors who have a predilection for decapitation as a way to humiliate their enemies. It is the ceremonial human sacrifice that Allah demands in the Koran.

Somehistory
Sorry.
That’s what I meant.
I’ve told people the same thing. “Show me where Christianity has ever condoned the “bad” things people have done.
Atheists ALWAYS hold up people PURPOSELY not following Christ’s example, as why they say Christianity is bad.
Basically, when Atheists beak off about Christianity, it’s a case of the “Burned down house calling the pot black.”
somehistory says
No apology needed. I thought that is what you meant, but was just clarifying for any who didn’t know. All’s good, Dan.
somehistory says
Those who hate Christians, will see this the way the source plots it…Christians invading and getting what was coming to them. Rather than to look at the Truth of the matter and see how vicious and bloodthirsty are mozlums, the blame in on Christianity.
It’s amazing that so many have allowed themselves to be blinded by satan so that the “Good news about the Christ might not shine through.”
How could any sane and reasonable person choose to believe those who are taught to lie, to deceive others, and whine and complain when the truth is told?
No sane and reasonable person does choose that. The sane and reasonable look objectively and believe what is True.

It truly makes my blood boil whenever I hear Joe Biden described as a “devout Catholic” or when I hear Pope Francis talk about helping those who are most in need of help and yet I see that these two old men who live in luxury are actually enabling the persecution of Christians. Their hypocrisy is sickening.
Raja says
CogitoErgoSum,
I get worked up when I see all the lies and propaganda. When mullah Francis himself preaches against Christians, how can a career politician, a crook be better off?
They are fixated on pushing the Leftist narrative, it can only get worse with the passing of time. Anyway, the Left preaches one thing when outside power and another, when in power. These two mullahs are doing no different.
Only 2 % Americans think that Biden is going a great job !
John says
Yet, O’biden swore in an oath to the Constitution of the United States of America – on the biggest thickest family Catholic Bible ever seen by America on TV to defend America from invasion – yet does nothing for the persecuted by Islam. John F. Kennedy would be ashamed.
Raja says
One of the prime “reason” for jihad is that the Crusaders were violent ( they can concoct a thousand lies and excuses for jihad, bottom line is, they want to convert the world through sword). Like Pakis, Muslims never tell the truth, so this too should have been taken with a ton of salt.
Hardly anything was known about Crusaders and about how they were defending their lands or people, the narrative was sketchy (at least to me).
Now, the truth seems to be out. May be the Muslims imposed war on “Christian” zealots, as they are doing today, everywhere.
Dieks62 says
Raja, you seem to be missing the point here a little; I’m sure there is in fact still plenty of historical literature of the crussades around, despite the fact that this ‘politically incorrect’ deemed subject is no longer thaught in present western education systems, if you cared looking for it!
The present ME was in fact mostly christian/Judean/budhist, & others territory at the time, but was most certainly not islamic, as the cult of warmongering & bloodshed simply didn’t exist until the Mongols/Arabs/Ottomans started their holy jihad wars in mid 565-600AD & forward! Describing the invasion of the ME by christian crussaders by this author is factually wrong, as all they did was trying to defend the non-moslum brothers population, to stop & defeat the bloodthirsty invading ☪️ enemy hordes that were terrorizing the christian/Judean/budhist & other’s citizens of the territory at the time! I guess, proper eduction in schools on the subject, which was blocked by the leftist socialist-liberal pro-Marxists, could have spared us from a lot of misconceptions & misunderstandings about the true nature & intentions of the religion of pieces and would have surely prevented the present islamic invasion & looming conquest of our western christian/judean cultured homelands over these past few decades! Sadly, once again we haven’t learned from past mistakes and therefore if we can ever manage to unite as christians, then lots of blood?will have to be spilled again on christian soils to save our culture & homelands!

Just about everything.
By every indication the Crusaders were just as barbaric as the Ottomans (if not “just as” certainly not far behind). To suggest that the Crusaders were trying to secure life for Jews and Buddhists (of whom there must have been as many as 10-15 in the ME at the time) is ridiculous especially considering that the Crusaders were going out of their way to slaughter Europe’s Jews on their way to the Crusades.
At the time man’s inhumanity to man was as apparent in western Europe as anywhere else on the planet.
To put it simply, for the most part the Crusaders were not the self-sacrificing heroes Dieks62 implies. i.e. for the most part.
CogitoErgoSum says
I don’t know what the hell is being taught in our schools these days. They seem to be producing new crusaders though who are willing to loot, burn and kill for the holy credo of “all white people are created bad.”

The problem with History courses is the twist that History can be given. The Crusades is a good example as illustrated above. There should be a way to teach the history of WWII which resulted in over 55,000,000 deaths (murders really) without demonizing today’s Japanese or Germans. How can anyone have any understanding of why our world is shaped as it is without some basic knowledge of WWII (yes kids, there were two of them)?
The conspiracy theories and Big Lies were critical in the Nazi rise to power in Germany. The World today seems as susceptible to this kind of garbage as Germany was in the 1930s. Our children must be taught not to believe this tripe or we’re on a similar road. We have people out there seriously asserting absolute garbage. For example, “Alien reptillions, masquerading as liberals, are hell-bent on depopulating the planet with toxic microchip laden vaccines”.
Similarly we aren’t that far away from when women were treated as inferiors in the laws of the land or gays’ lives were made intolerable. No we didn’t authorize killing them but we came awfully close. Volumes have been written about the treatment of Afro-Americans (and Canadians) and the abhorrent treatment of Natives but what with political correctness on one side and the “woke” accusers on the other I have little hope that consensus could ever be reached on what to teach.
There. I’ve vented enough.
Michael Casmer says
there are 2 religious orders, the Mercedarians, and the Trinitarians in the Catholic church, still in existence were founded to protect Christians while they visited the holy places in the Holy Land. Often these religious would offer themselves as hostages to free Christians held by Muslims.
