My latest in PJ Media:
No, this is not the Babylon Bee. With no intention of branching out into parody, hyper-Leftist Salon magazine on Saturday published an article entitled “Why Satanists may be the last, best hope to save abortion rights in Texas.” Yes, you read that right: Satanists. For decades, pro-lifers have noted the plain evil of the wholesale destruction of millions of children in the name of “reproductive freedom” and “my body, my choice,” to the indignation of Leftists who claimed that they were really the compassionate ones, the only ones who cared for the poor women who had to get abortions. But now, in the face of Texas’ new move to protect life, Salon is laying all the cards on the table.
“As pro-choice and reproductive health groups are scrambling to make sense of Texas’ new, near-total abortion ban that went into effect this week,” writes Salon’s Brett Bachman, “it appears their efforts to skirt the law are getting an unexpected boost from one organization in particular: The Satanic Temple.”
Bachman doesn’t pause to ponder the implications of the fact that his cause has now been taken up by those who openly espouse evil. A more sober advocate might pause to wonder if perhaps this support in itself indicates that one is quite drastically on the wrong side, but if Bachman thought that way, he wouldn’t be a Salon writer.
Oblivious to the larger import of what he is writing, Bachman plows on: “The ‘nontheistic’ organization, which is headquartered in Salem, Massachusetts, joined the legal fray this week by sending a letter to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration demanding access to abortion pills for its members. The group has established an ‘abortion ritual,’ and is attempting to use the Religious Freedom Restoration Act (which was created to allow Native Americans access to peyote for religious rituals) to argue that its members should be allowed access to abortion drugs like Misoprostol and Mifepristone for religious purposes.”
Clever: Claim that abortion is a religious sacrament that must be protected on religious freedom grounds. Satanic Temple spokesdemon Lucien Greaves stated: “I am sure Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton—who famously spends a good deal of his time composing press releases about Religious Liberty issues in other states—will be proud to see that Texas’s robust Religious Liberty laws, which he so vociferously champions, will prevent future Abortion Rituals from being interrupted by superfluous government restrictions meant only to shame and harass those seeking an abortion. The battle for abortion rights is largely a battle of competing religious viewpoints, and our viewpoint that the nonviable fetus is part of the impregnated host is fortunately protected under Religious Liberty laws.”
There is more. Read the rest here.

Satanists Claim Their Religious Rights Are Being Denied in Texas Because They Can’t Kill Babies
…………..
My guess is that these Satanists are proceeding tongue-in-cheek here, but does it even much matter? Good grief…
mortimer says
The Satanists are clearly in league with the American Leftists, even if the Leftists are not consciously in league with Satanists.
The Satanists would have no tongue-in-cheek reason to suggest they practice child sacrifice. It is a self-slander if that is what they are doing.
Kepha says
Satanists, Leftists, perversion advocates, and Islamicists–there’s a polyamorous marriage made in Hell. Satan’s four Sharia-sanctioned wives?

Mortimer, since Satanists don’t actually sacrifice babies, the only thing possible thing here is tongue-in-cheek. I’ve actually known a couple of “Satanists”, and they enjoyed twitting people with their image.

Christians believe they have the right to destroy the lives of women by forcing them to give birth.
Christians have a lot more influence than idiot satanist cultists like Greaves and his clown show that operates out of that brown house on Bridge Street in Salem. You believe you will be rewarded in the Invisible World to Come by your gods — who considered you so inherently evil that you had to be “redeemed” by human sacrifice — for punishing raped women. You believe a 6 week fetus is worth much more than a girl or woman because it is “innocent” while the girl or woman — a harlot daughter of Eve Who Bit the Apple — for making love with her husband or being raped.
You believe that is true so don’t whine at me that you don’t. I am 77 years old and get harder to b.s. with every year. Stop trying to equate us with satanist cultists unless you are willing to make that statement to every woman you meet. Good luck trying to shame women who don’t give a good goddam what you think.
What they are doing in Texas is DISGUSTING. Be sure to make a list of all those little child brides those Afghans will be bringing into the country so you can send them there. Think of how grateful their pigs of “husbands” will be.
And may it happen to YOUR daughter, YOUR wife, YOUR girlfriend,YOUR sister, YOUR mother and have fun explaining to them why your God has Declared that they no longer have any rights.

OMG! Tone it down, old man.
I’m an atheist and my pro-life stance as zero to do with fire and brimstone and everything to do with the evil of murdering babies for the “sins of the father” (in the teeny tiny minority of the millions of abortions that occur after a rape).
The vast majority of abortions are women making poor life choices and murdering unborn babies for convenience. The same kind of women who scream about muh patriarchy, and muh rights.
Moreover, many abortions are due to the pressure from the males (molesters, statutory rapists, and cheatin’ men). No religious beliefs necessary to know that is immoral and not conducive to a healthy society.
So, NO, I do not believe any of what babbled off in your second paragraph.
Just an FYI…your screed makes you as nutty as you are trying to paint pro-life Christians.
Well done, gramps! You played yourself you bigoted, baby murdering old fool.
Amazing how you can be so right about islam, but so, so wrong about the motivations of pro-lifers and the immorality of murdering the most vulnerable among us.

Does anyone know that for states that have adapted the pain-capable law, as opposed to the heartbeat law, how long is it before a fetus has a nervous system developed enough that is pain capable? If it is longer, it might be a compromise for people who think that 6 weeks is too short given women who don’t even know that they’re pregnant. Of course, I’m not a woman, but I’d think that after 5 weeks, if she doesn’t have a period, isn’t it worth checking whether she’s pregnant, and having the abortion just-in-time if that’s what she wants?
However, that said, given where the abortion debate has shifted – w/ our governor Ralph Northam talking about aborting babies that have survived abortions and are on the table while they’re ‘kept comfortable’, I support this heartbeat law in the absence of any other law banning abortions. Texans for whom that’s a sacrament can move to California, Oregon, Washington, Illinois, New York or any of those other deep blue states

I don’t think there’s full consensus, Infidel–but there is this:
“Study shows preborn babies feel pain as early as 12 weeks’ gestation”
https://erlc.com/resource-library/articles/study-shows-preborn-babies-feel-pain-as-early-as-12-weeks-gestation/
(Note that one of the authors is “pro-life” and one is “pro-choice”, but they agree on this).

The brain forms early on. The brain is where the pain is felt.
The unborn hear and react much earlier than doctors once thought. One article I read some years ago, written by a doctor who delivered many babies, said that the only thing they really know for sure is that they hardly know anything as they continue to learn as medical technology keeps evolving.
There was a video made of an unborn baby being murdered and it is called “The Silent Scream” for a reason.

Agreed, Somehistory. The age at which it is thought that fetuses feel pain keeps getting moved earlier as doctors and scientists learn more.

Everyone….without exception…in favor of murdering the unborn, are working for and worshipping satan the devil.
satan had the people of ancient times worship him and sacrifice their children on altars where they fed the babies to the roaring fire. Thousands…millions perhaps…were murdered so their crops would grow, or they could defeat the ones that were their enemies because satan demanded that they serve him completely.
satan has people try every trick in the book…his book of evil design…to go against God’s Commands and His Rightful worship.
If these slime don’t want to have their babies, but wish to make sacrifices to satan, they could easily move to another place. Heck, they could move all the way to china or afghanistan and allow the chinese or the taliban to murder their children for **free**.
This thing with murdering the unborn as though they are so much refuse to be gotten rid of before the next orgy begins is one of the worst things that man….and woman….has allowed satan to cause them to do. And, for the hitmen and hitwomen, who get paid, it too is demonic.
Our Holy God…Who ***owns*** His creation of mankind, Who ***owns*** the earth and all that is on it/in it, will soon carry out His Divine prophecies and stop this killing of the tiny babies He said are a “blessing.”
“Sudden” will be the destruction of these followers of the serpent satan. And it won’t matter one iota how “old” one is or what “reasons” they may try to give for the murders or for advocating the murders, male or female, will face the same
Those who say outright that they work for satan may believe they are being smart and trendy, but it won’t get them what they seek. Neither will the things that pelosi and durbin and their henchmen do to save themselves when Divine Judgment is rendered.

There you go again with your bat shit crazy, religious nutter talk again…living in a delusional bubble. What’s your magic man in the sky waiting for, with this “devine judgement” you keep going on about? If he has so much power, why doesn’t he just stop this “devil” character you keep talking about? Around 15,000 children under 5 die every day of easily treatable conditions…many in great pain or fear. Why doesn’t you magic man in the sky do something??? Maybe he;’s on vacation…or maybe, HE DOESN’T EXIST.

Your problem is that you can’t use logic or comprehend simple things. Such as ownership. Guess you don’t own anything. No car, no home, Otherwise, you might get the concept of making your own decisions about when to take your car for a wash or oil change, when to sweep your floor or wash your dishes.
Perhaps someone with a thinking brain makes all of those decisions for you because you don’t understand personal responsibility. He or she turns the back and you get on the computer and show your ignorance.
If you could grasp the concept of personal responsibility, you might be able to see that our Creator, the One who made it possible for you to exist, makes His own decisions and no one decides for Him….not even pea-brains who deny that He Lives. Our Creator acts when He is ready to act, He Judges when it is the right time and He is the One Who decides when it is the **right** time, not you.
You don’t exist either. Your foul tongue and chinese-noodle brain are just a figment of someone’s imagination. Some say that is how the mass-murdering, reaper of children, sex mad lying slave trading thief, filthy sack of slug slime, son of satan came to ‘be.’
Your insults, from the first bad impression you made here, till this latest bad impression, won’t make a hill-of-beans difference in what I believe and what I know as fact. You are free…of course…to keep hurling.

As a mother of three who has suffered a full term stillborn, I am pro abortion up to 12 weeks, the first trimester, which is three months, plenty of time for a woman to make a decision. Six weeks is not enough time to make that decision.

Eleanor, I am so sorry this happened to you. It must be very painful.

Question and answer exam. Choose one
Texas has legislated on abortion for the following reason:
1. Give the Satanists the right to perform their religious rituals of human sacrifice
2. To promote Leftist compassion
3. Safeguard Women’s rights to “my body, my choice”
4. To deny reproductive freedom
5. Fear of the Almighty
6. Islamic issues
7. Religious purposes
8. To protect the rights of the unborn child (also called the “Innocents”)
9. To promote the Satanist creed “Do what thou wilt”
10. To harass and give people a feeling of guilt
11. To follow a modern trend
12. To pave the way for banning excessive tattooing and cosmetic beauty operations by doctors and other practitioners with accompanying long jail sentences
The correct answer is: 8
OLD GUY says
If killing unborn babies for the inconvenience of the mother is ok.
I wonder if killing your 6yr. old could be justified as convenient also.
Where do we put the line in the sand where we protect the life of our children.
Or how about we go to the idea that I brought them into the world I can take them out.
Maybe we are killing the wrong end of the rape, incest and child bride crime. The men who commit these crimes live on and often repeat their crime, but we take care of them with legal assistance and turn them back out on the population again and again. Seems like our laws protect the criminal and not the women or babies who are the victims.
somehistory says
I agree. If rape is involved….and that is true in a very small percentage of those who choose to kill the baby…then the one who raped should be the one punished. If death is the only thing that will be justice for the victims….the woman and the baby…then it should be the rapist who dies.
Most of these are done because the woman just doesn’t want the baby…some say, “Not right now, maybe later,” and others have no desire to raise a child who might interfere with the fun, travel, career, etc. Some women don’t like what pregnancy does to the body…stretch marks, etc.
Therefore, most killing is because the woman is selfish.
And when one realizes what is done to remove the child….just imagine if a serial killer was going about doing that to people he found in their beds sleeping. The hue and cry for the police to catch and punish the felon would be up to the heavens. No one would try to justify his actions.
gravenimage says
In Islam there is no punishment for killing your children or grandchildren.

The idiots …satanists…at the doj (department of jerks), has filed suit against Texas.
They wouldn’t ever have thought to do that when the Court wouldn’t hear the different cases brought in the fraud election mess. But, just let the Court allow Texas to keep this law in force and the worms come out to do battle in order to keep it easy for women to hire people to murder their babies.
Kind of gives a clue as to where they will stand on the rescue of young rape victims brought into the country by the male mozlum pedorapists. Those slime will get to keep the little girls for sex slaves…or the doj will have something to say about it.
