Here is the fruit of twenty years of Leftist indoctrination.
The Virginia Department of Education video has been taken down, but you can find my article quoting from it extensively here.
“WATCH: Students think 9/11 lessons should omit ‘gruesome’ details, ‘avoid placing blame,'” by Ophelie Jacobson, Campus Reform, September 9, 2021:
The Virginia Department of Education recently posted a video on their YouTube Channel telling teachers to avoid talking about American exceptionalism while teaching about September 11, 2001.
Campus Reform reporter Ophelie Jacobson talked with University of Florida students about this video to see how students think 9/11 should be taught in the classroom.
Suggestions for lesson plans included keeping “gruesome” facts out of lesson plans avoiding discussion of who was responsible for the attacks.
One student said the curriculum avoid “avoid placing blame.”…
“We don’t need more nationalism in this country…we need more healthcare,” one student said. “I think they should focus on America’s faults, not how amazing we are and how we need to be superior, because we’re not.”
“In terms of propagating this idea that our nation is the best no matter what…I would agree that that should be avoided,” another student said.
Students didn’t seem to agree with the idea of American exceptionalism.
“It’s rooted in a lot of colonist and imperialist notions of how we should treat other people,” one student said.
Another student said, “I think it’s a dangerous mindset to teach young people that because I think that’s the reason why a lot of people grow up to be extremists and really nationalistic.”…
Wellington says
The Left is doing a magnificent job of distorting the truth about everything. A major consequence of this is that America is raising a generation of indoctrinated buffoons.
Trouble. Much.
James Lincoln says
Wellington,
Just wondering how much we could count on these particular college types for a 2021 D-Day Normandy type invasion.
Or would they protect the United States from a direct attack?
Wellington says
They’d probably defend the invaders or those who directly attacked the USA. Built into Leftism is many errors. One of them is self-loathing.
JOEYN says
OMG! Unbelievable and really sad the level of indoctrination with utter lies and falsehoods these students have undergone in the Leftist controlled education system in the USA. Wise, honest and brave Americans need to do everything they can to take back full control of their country from the evil and deceitful Left before it is too late. Otherwise the whole world is in trouble.
gravenimage says
Grimly true, Joeyn.
Joe says
If someone does not want to talk about cause of the problem, he can not be part of the solution to the problem, he is part of the problem
gravenimage says
Joe, this is worse than simple denial, bad as that is. This is grotesque false moral eqivalance.

I’ve seen, observed, listened to, a lot of UF students….many, but not all, are just like the rest of the people in the U.S. who know nothing and yet, believe they are smarter than anyone who might be older, or just of a different mindset.
Many are rude, and there are also many, many mozlums who attend. A whole boatload of mozlums…male and female. So, even if no professors were to say that mozlums were not involved, or “to blame,” these mozlum students would believe what they are told in their barracks…and that is to lie like the cheap carpets they prey on, and yet, be proud of what mozlums have accomplished in the way of terror.
Since these days it is “white” to tell the truth, or to believe the truth, many of the other students will silently agree, even when they don’t. One former student actually told me this in confidence…that when he stood up to disagree, and no one joined him in his opinion, but he was told later that there were many who agreed with him, but were afraid of being labeled “politically” if they spoke up.
There are three sides to every story….each side and then the whole, complete truth.

…………………..
Somehistory, I actually had that expericence several times during my own college days, and they were forty years ago. I’m sure things are generally much worse now.
somehistory says
Yes, g,
He told me that this happened time and again when they could volunteer to debate an issue or law and its application. He said he was the only one who took the side he did, the rest of the class either silent or agreeing with the other side.
And this young man is a very ethical person, in favor of freedom and personal responsibility, not any where near those radical, types one sees on most campuses.
During the time I had to ride public transportation, I heard many students voicing their opinions, and as I wrote above, there are so very many mozlums on that campus.
At the same time, there are many wonderful professors there too.

Good for him and those few like him speaking out, Somehistory.

What these, like, kids like, need to be like shown like, is that other countries are largely like, shitholes like, because of their like, OWN CULTURES AND MORALS.
In ALL non Christian/Judaeo countries, there is not only full fledged “Systemic Racism” there’s systemic corruption, and systemic MYSOGONY, and it’s absolutely entrenched in those places because the religions they all practice, Islam being the WORST, says there’s nothing wrong with swindling non family members, or keeping women in their place by BEATING them, and I defy anybody to provide evidence to the contrary.
As for the atheists claim, that religion is the problem, well…
How’d 100% of those officially atheists countries turn out?
PRCS says
“avoid talking about its roots in Islam, because that was, like, an extremist group”
When, oh when, will interviewers ask mush-brains like that young woman to (1) provide her personal definition of that term, and (2) if there’s a lollipops and rainbows version of Qur’an for “moderate” Muslims.
Namer says
“I think they should focus on America’s faults, not how amazing we are and how we need to be superior, because we’re not.”
Only an ill-educated idiot would say something like this. I have live and been all over the world and can tell you that there is wonderful things about every country but the USA is the best bar none. I always like to ask the people why do so many people immigrate to America from these so called great countries that are better than ours. No seems to have an answer.

University of Florida students say teachers should ‘focus on America’s faults’ and ‘avoid placing blame’ for 9/11

That’s *exactly* what this is.

These are *adults*, most of them–not grade school kids. That they should be shielded from the full horror of 9/11 is ludicrous.
As for the moral equivance, note that they are not talking about, say, the virtues of Canadians or Swiss along with Americans, but *the bloody 9/11 terrorists*.
These are the next generation of American citizens. Utterly terrifying suicidal insanity.

Grimly true.
Walter Sieruk says
The Virginia Department of Education with its new politically correct video seems to place its “educational” program emphasis “on avoiding blame” about those murderous jihad terrorist attacks which occurred on September , 11, 2001.
Come on, let’s be honest and straightforward about those horrendous Islamic terror attacks of 9/11 .
It was an action of commited by Muslims who were also jihadists because they were engaging in Islam’s violent and deadly jihad.

The students are probably relieved that they can get the healthcare that the dead will never get. These students have no future in the dangerous world we live in. They remind me of the Eloi in the movie, The Time Machine.

One thing I would say to these children with their skulls full of toxic mush is what someone who was by no means a right winger once said. From the songwriter/poet (and prophet) Leonard Cohen. “You won’t like what comes after America”.
James Lincoln says
Thanks for the quote, Rbla.
Interestingly, I had never heard it before.

Yes–good stuff from Leonard Cohen.

Our education system has been infiltrated with foreign money.. Saudi Arabia has invested in our universities endowment funds for years. Therefore we have islamic student unions and islamic studies and islamic professors throughout our higher education system. I wonder what could possibly go wrong?

Also true, OLD GUY–this and American-hating leftism, as well.
