From Ex-Muslim TV (thanks to The Religion of Peace).
The death penalty for apostasy is part of Islamic law. It’s based on the Qur’an: “They wish you would disbelieve as they disbelieved so you would be alike. So do not take from among them allies until they emigrate for the cause of Allah. But if they turn away, then seize them and kill them wherever you find them and take not from among them any ally or helper.” (Qur’an 4:89)
A hadith depicts Muhammad saying: “Whoever changed his Islamic religion, then kill him” (Bukhari 9.84.57). The death penalty for apostasy is part of Islamic law according to all the schools of Islamic jurisprudence.
This is still the position of all the schools of Islamic jurisprudence, both Sunni and Shi’ite. Sheikh Yusuf al-Qaradawi, the most renowned and prominent Muslim cleric in the world, has stated: “The Muslim jurists are unanimous that apostates must be punished, yet they differ as to determining the kind of punishment to be inflicted upon them. The majority of them, including the four main schools of jurisprudence (Hanafi, Maliki, Shafi’i, and Hanbali) as well as the other four schools of jurisprudence (the four Shiite schools of Az-Zaidiyyah, Al-Ithna-‘ashriyyah, Al-Ja’fariyyah, and Az-Zaheriyyah) agree that apostates must be executed.”
Qaradawi also once famously said: “If they had gotten rid of the apostasy punishment, Islam wouldn’t exist today.”

Getting an error for this article. Therefore, can’t read it.
However, anyone who tries to kill another person for having told the truth, is **not a friend** and not a loss to the one speaking truth.

This story reveals a great deal about what Muslims actually believe when they are not trying to deceive or whitewash Islam’s authentic, canonical teachings about the apostasy punishment. Vigilante executions of apostates are normative Islam, even though many mullahs will deny it. Sharia law solidly endorses the vigilante murder of someone who leaves Islam and refuses to return.
– 14 passages in the Koran and many rulings in Sharia law refer to apostasy
– K. 4: 88-89 “They but wish that ye should reject Faith, as they do, and thus be on the same footing (as they): But take not friends from their ranks until they flee in the way of Allah (From what is forbidden). But if they turn renegades, seize them and slay them wherever ye find them; and (in any case) take no friends or helpers from their ranks.”
Sharia Law: The killer of an apostate is not punished:
– (manual of Sharia law) Reliance of the Traveller ref. O8.4 : “There is no indemnity for killing an APOSTATE (O: or any expiation, since it is killing someone who deserves to die).”
– Reliance of the Traveller: O1.2 – “The following are not subject to retaliation: -3- a Jewish or Christian subject of the Islamic state for killing an APOSTATE from Islam (O: because a subject of the state is under its protection, while killing an apostate from Islam is without consequences)”
– According to Baidhawi’s commentary, Sura 4: 88-89 means: “Whosoever TURNS BACK from his belief, openly or secretly, take him and kill him wheresoever ye find him, like any other infidel. Separate yourself from him altogether. Do not accept intercession in his regard.”
– A hadith about Mohammed’s followers used as a basis of Sharia, tells of some atheists who were brought to “’Ali and he burnt them. The news of this reached Ibn Abbas who said: ‘If I had been in his place, I would not have burnt them, as Allah’s Apostate forbade it . . . I would have killed them according to the statement of Allah’s Apostate, ‘Whoever changed his [Islamic] religion, then kill him’.”
– A hadith in which Mohammed commands the killing of APOSTATES, and promises eternal rewards for doing so: “When I relate to you the words of Mohammed, by Allah, I would rather die than bear false witness to his teachings. However, if I should say something unrelated to the prophet, then it might very well be a lie so that I might deceive my enemy. Without question, I heard Mohammed say, “In the final days before Redemption there will emerge groups of foolish youths who will say all the right things but their faith will go no further than their mouths and will flee from their religion like an arrow. So, kill the APOSTATES wherever you find them, because whoever does so will be rewarded on Judgment Day.” -Sahih Bukhari 9,84,64
– Sheikh Yusuf al-Qaradawi, the most infamous Muslim cleric of Egypt stated:
“The Muslim jurists are UNANIMOUS that APOSTATES must be punished, yet they differ as to determining the kind of punishment to be inflicted upon them.

In Islam your Brother doubles as your executioner.

It wouldn’t exist today,
No, it wouldn’t exist today.
If they stop the killing of those who leave,
It wouldn’t exist today.

The death for apostasy dictate alone makes Islam evil. When you add in all the other malicious rot like the sanctioning of rape and Islam’s eternal war on freedom overall, you have a belief system that should have died long ago.
No excuses for defending Islam. None.
Jesper says
“When I stopped pretending, my friend tried to kill me’”.
Then your friend is indeed your friend. He did the only compassionate thing a true friend would do: Trying to kill you to stop you from sinning, so that you would have a better chance of going to paradise. Truly the best of friends…

I clicked the link to Ex-muslim TV, and saw the conversation thread, that ran something like this:
Saudi: I left islam
Egyptian: My family tried to kill me
Iraqi: I left islam in secret in America
……
One thing I was curious about: if these are mainly natives of these countries (I did notice that there were some Brits and Americans there as well), how come they’re not speaking in Arabic, Turkish or other muslim languages? How are the conversations not in Nastaliq?

Infidel, a lot of international sites use English as a “lingua franca”.

Thank you for revealing what is the standard attitude of “friends” in Islam towards an apostate.
Always keep that in mind. It is to be expected toward anyone who emits reserves toward Islam. The “friend’s” attitude change equals DANGER.

………….
Just horrifying.
But the death penalty for leaving Islam is orthodox. Just glad this man survived.
