My latest in PJ Media:
The Afghanistan withdrawal was a catastrophe, inflation is rising, the Southern border is essentially nonexistent, China, Iran and North Korea are emboldened, and the disasters just keep coming, but there is one bright spot in the dumpster fire that is Biden’s handlers’ presidency: no mean tweets. Banning Trump was a clear demonstration of the partisan nature of the far-Left platform, and the former president is finally acting against this censorship: On Friday, he filed a civil action to compel Twitter to restore his account and let him give us more mean tweets.
Trump, along with the American Conservative Union and a host of others, including the Leftist Naomi Wolf, who was suspended from Twitter for questioning the Left’s cherished vaccine dogmas, filed a motion for a preliminary injunction in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, asking that Twitter be compelled “immediately, and no later than forty-eight (48) hours following the issuance of the Court’s Order, to reinstate Plaintiff’s access to its platform and lift all temporary or permanent bans on Plaintiff’s Twitter account(s).”
The filing wastes no time in charging collusion between Twitter and Leftist elected officials: “Coerced by members of the United States Congress, operating under an unconstitutional immunity granted by a permissive federal statute, and acting directly with federal officials, Defendant is censoring Plaintiff, a former President of the United States.”
In fact, one of the most interesting sections of the motion calling for Trump’s reinstatement is its exposition of how Twitter was caving to Democrat pressure in banning Trump: “Private party censorship…becomes governmental action ‘when the State provides “significant encouragement, either overt or covert.”’
“The coercive and threatening statements made by Congressional and Executive Branch members…applying pressure on and threatening consequences against Defendant if it failed to censor Plaintiff, amounted at a minimum to significant encouragement,” the motion continues. “Democrat members of Congress, as well as President Biden himself, repeatedly encouraged Defendant to censor and restrain Plaintiff’s views, or face catastrophic legal and regulatory consequences.”
Twitter, the motion also states, is “a major avenue of public discourse,” such that its “censorship and prior restraint of Plaintiff’s speech violates the First Amendment to the United States Constitution and likewise violates Florida’s newly enacted Stop Social Media Censorship Act (‘SSMCA).” Thanks, Governor DeSantis! Twitter, the motion correctly observes, “exercises a degree of power and control over political discourse in this country that is immeasurable, historically unprecedented, and profoundly dangerous to open democratic debate.” In banning Trump, Twitter top dogs cut off a principal “communication tool of his presidency.”
There is more. Read the rest here.

If President Trump regains his twitter account, I’m hopeful that his first tweet is:
“Breathing is good. Every American should breathe every day”.
I’d make popcorn.

Twitter is a private entity. It need not host Trump’s steady stream of incitement and lies. Trump has access to Fox News. I don’t share many of Twitter’s corporate views, but Trump is sui generis.
Yes, some looney anti-vax leftists have also been cut off, too. The anti-vax people are responsible for the murder of tens, maybe hundreds, of thousands of people.
Infidel says
I guess you’ve not been following the news about Fox News lately: aside from forcing the vax mandates that they ostensibly oppose on their own employees – that too exempting their show hosts from it, they have steadily been moving Leftwards. On 9/11, they had no presence of Rudy Giuliani or Bernie Kerik to discuss the events of that day 20 years ago – that’s how unhinged Fox has become
Big Tech pretends that they know more about the virus and its cure than doctors who actually work on the stuff, and even censored the guy who invented and patented the mRNA vaccines. Even Rand Paul had his videos on YouTube deleted for honestly saying that aside from medically fitted N95 masks, masks were worthless and incapable of protecting anybody
The claim that these companies are private entities, when they have data on a huge percentage of the population, makes it pretty specious, since they are a way for the Left to do end runs around the First Amendment. Thugs like AOC, Kamala, Ilhan, et al can’t stop anyone from putting out statements or videos, but they can get their lapdogs working in these companies to do it for them on those platforms. But I do think that Trump should – see my main post below in this page – forget Twitter and open accounts on Getter, Gab and Parler and post his various statements there. At least people on the Right will follow him there

What Trump said they do not hate me(Trump) as much as they hate you patriotic Americans ,I(Trump) just get in their way. Big Tech ,MSM, ruling elite, Washington swamp creatures have been busy the last 10 months paving the road to hell ,with their “good attentions”.
Don McKellar says
If Trump does succeed he should have one completely trustworthy person who’s only job is to block every twit and idiot who clogs up the reply section on his tweets. Immediate and swift, every single one of them, whacka mole. Then the only way that any jerk can comment and have it stick is to retweet Trump.
Infidel says
Why? Just why? When there are by now THREE alternate social media platforms – Parler, Gab and now Gettr! All of them have reserved @RealDonaldTrump exclusively for him, so that he or Scavino can post their statements there whenever they like. Not just that: Trump is the center of gravity here, and can attract millions to any site that he chooses, if it’s known that that’s where he posts. And he won’t risk being banned, shadow-banned or any other chicanery that Twitter does to him!
People on the Right need to start abandoning Twitter in droves. Same for Facebook. While I leave it to anyone to determine where they wanna camp, Gab is the best in terms of having gone thru it all, and therefore having its own servers, its own business model (they offer a package to anyone who also happens to have content of his/her own for a fee) and least vulnerable to sabotage compared to either Parler or Gettr

There is little value in preaching to the choir.
It would be better for him to be on Facebook and Twitter AND stick to the truth and stop inciting people with the “Big Lie”.
I’ll then be able to say: “I’ve seen an elephant fly”.
Infidel says
Except that Trump isn’t just about preaching, and even people who were on Twitter to troll him will follow him to these other platforms to troll him there
There is nothing he was lying about: he was just laying out his thoughts & plans every day, and it was up to people to decide where they stood on every idea, from his Warp Speed plans to wanting to buy Greenland
James Lincoln says
Infidel,
Believe it or not, Nuuk, Greenland is on my travel list.

At this point I can’t even remember what it was like having a good president.
That freak show Biden has chewed my soul and spit it out. That old fart could have made Hugh Hefner lose his will to live, y’know? Just listening to him, ugh.

Fasten Your Seat Belt: Trump Files Motion Asking Judge to Force Twitter to Restore His Account
…………….
Interesting how many pro-ISIS Twitter accounts there are–but the former president is considered beyond the pale…
Walter Sieruk says
Donald Trump was banned from Twitter because the ;politically correct people cant’ stand him and likewise can’t tolerate Mr. Trump posting the truth.
Giacomo Latta says
As others have stated, all he has to do is inform Twitter that he has joined the Taliban and therefore he should have a Twitter account.
James Lincoln says
Boy, I sure do miss those so-called “mean” Trump tweets…
