My latest in PJ Media:
The Harvard Kennedy School Ash Center’s Institutional Antiracism and Accountability Project held its annual Truth and Transformation Conference Friday, and it was about as cheerful an affair as you would expect. According to the Harvard Crimson, the thunderingly surprising conclusion of the panel was that “nonprofit leaders and activists argued that non-government agencies and individuals ought to take bold action to promote equity.”
This bold action, according to one panelist, must include working toward ensuring “equality of outcomes.” The only kind of institution that could possibly ensure any kind of equality of outcome, such as universal employment and a universal and common salary rate, would be a totalitarian Communist regime.
It’s not exactly breaking news that our nation’s most respected educational institutions are now for the most part radioactive wastelands of far-Left indoctrination, but open and unqualified calls for the installation of a totalitarian Communist regime are still somewhat rare, and hence noteworthy.
Again, as you would expect, the call to endeavor to erase the natural differences among human beings in ability, initiative, interests, willingness to persevere and everything else came in the context of an orgy of America-hatred and race-baiting, or as the Crimson put it, “this year’s conference covered topics including the history of racism and the economic repercussions of racism.”
Panelists, said the Crimson, “explained how they believe organizations should be held accountable for their promises on diversity, equity, and inclusion.” Among them were John C. Yang, president and executive director of Asian Americans Advancing Justice, who admitted, as he would in any Maoist self-incrimination session, that he had been enjoying unfair advantages, and duly renounced them: “Speaking as an East Asian American male,” Yang said, I recognize that I enjoy certain privileges. So if I’m saying that we should all be treated equally, that’s not right, because the reality is, different communities have suffered in different ways.”
Leftists are generally so deeply ensconced in their fantasy world that no amount of exposure to reality will dislodge them from it, and Yang’s statements are a quintessential example of this general disconnect from reality. The scenario he paints is wildly bizarre in terms of real life in America today and yet commonplace in Leftist discourse.
He enjoys certain privileges? Really? It would have been helpful if he had provided a list of the institutions that give him special consideration, or financial breaks, or any kind of favor at all because he is an “East Asian American male.” Of course, he would respond that there are plenty of institutions that do this, but they don’t do it openly; it’s all under the table, with a wink and a nod, unmistakeable to the initiated but unintelligible to outsiders.
There is more. Read the rest here.

There is a book which describes graphically the rotten, miserable, unproductive life under Soviet Communism, Mig Pilot, by John Barron, who wrote about Pilot Viktor Belenko’s experience linked to his “borrowing” a Mig 25 for a flight to a US-Japan base. This is what these Marxist “liberals” want to cram down our throats to ruin our lives and future. I compare it with Medical Doctor Wafa Sultan’s inside view of islamic Syria. Both show important reasons to resist.

Thanks, Frank. Here’s more about the intrepid Viktor Belenko:

There can be no equality as long as there is the ELITE. They don’t go to our fundraisers, and they don’t come to our town meetings, and they keep racism alive to keep us fighting against something they support and actively embrace behind their big doors of the courtrooms and corporate meeting rooms. They are the enemy of all races as they can keep us nailed down and fighting. It’s a Big Club and we common folk don’t ever get invited to their secret parties. What they do in those Parties with children would turn your stomach. They can deny all they want but look at the NIH and Fauci and how they created the Virus that ravaged the world. That was not of Nature and was found that Fauci and the NIH Funded it all to build up the Vaccine Scam they are running on us all. Those shots are not vaccines, they are Genocide Jabs that everyone is begging for. Those deaths from Covid I think is caused by the wrong treatment of Flu, and would kill anyone that gets the respirator and is put in a coma. It is no more dangerous than the seasonal flu, but if advertised well enough you will fall for the lies like what Bill Gates said in a TED conference. “WITH THE RIGHT VACCINES WE CAN GET THE POPULATION DOWN 15%?” Don’t you get it? this is a depopulation agenda no different than what Hitler was doing, and the Nuremberg Trials should be tried here in America for the Atrocities of Humanity. There should be more investigations of who is responsible for this outbreak. And why are we funding anything in China when China is not our friend? They can’t be trusted and know we have our man in office that has been selling out America for the Elite and Billionaires of the Big Pharma Cartels.

What’s more is that just last week Elvis came out of hiding, admitted to being behind the JFK assassination and, when being mobbed by his fans, fell off the edge of the earth. Of course the left wing media won’t report on it.

I am no particular fan of Bill Gates, but he never said this. Really, it is better to stick to the truth.

“There should be more investigations of who is responsible for this outbreak.”
There are indications that the Covid19 virus was a Frankenstein experiment gone wrong which started as a research grant proposal. Seems irresponsible for a scientist to propose something like that. You be the Judge.

so what’s the point in going to a school that allows you to advance your self in life to only find out that the very school is making you a follower and not a leader

Harvard’s endowment will be confiscated by the regime they promote. All of those tenured professors will find themselves tilling fields somewhere. Harvard, be careful what you wish for. You just might get it.

When I was eighteen, I felt sooooo baaaad that I didn’t get into Harvard. But, seeing some of its products even back in the SIllier ‘Seventies, m guess is that their great learning had driven them insane. The afterglow of Harvard’s older prestige has been a disaster for American intellectual life.

So true, PMK.

Off hand, I can’t think of anything good that has come out of Harvard over the past half century or so.
Harvard and the entire Ivy League need to be looked upon as a joke. Mockery goes a long way to effectively dealing with both foolishness and iniquity.

I suppose it all comes down to definitions. “Equality” is an admirable goal but what does it man? Certainly not that the delivery boy/girl earns the same income as a bank president but perhaps that he/she had the same educational opportunities that could lead to such a position. That would be equality of opportunity. How successful a society is in providing the opportunities to all can only be measured by the outcome – however flawed such a measurement might be.
There are many stumbling blocks to equality of opportunity and when those stumbling blocks are race or gender and are more or less universal and entrenched then they may be seen as systemic. Trying to remove them is hardly “Communist” or “Marxist”.
That isn’t to say that some of Harvard’s glorious professors don’t tend in that direction but academics are more often than not theorists and unqualified to lead society (though they don’t think so). We should recall the adage: “Those who can – do. Those who can’t – teach”.

The last time there was complete equity was when Evolution /God created Adam and Eve. Both had equal responsibility for creating life. After that it has all been a crap shoot.

Harvard Goes Full Marx: Panel Calls for ‘Bold Action’ to Ensure ‘Equality of Outcomes’
……………..
Utter madness. While I excel in many areas, my math is and always has been pretty poor after about third grade. What would it have taken to ensure that I had an “equality of outcome” with math geniuses? I shudder to think. Luckily, I have never made such demands.
This is bs, in any case. No society has *ever* had equality of outcomes. This is just an attempt to further dismantle meritocracy in favor of “woke” bias.
Frank Anderson says
GI, equality of outcome is entirely possible, as we see daily, by dropping the results to the lowest level. Look at the US education system. Punish the achievers and reward the losers. Keep everybody poor, broke, miserable and hopeless, so the “chosen” can live well and be in control. Does that remind you of any places we see where the leaders live lavishly?

Grimly true, Frank.

Frank.
Couldn’t agree more. One cannot profitably run an education system geared to the lowest common denominator but the “do-gooders” seem to be promoting that approach. It shouldn’t be too hard to accommodate everyone on the basis of their abilities without regard to ethnicity, race or gender. Coincidently the system I went through was just like that but that was a couple hundred years ago.

Rarely, I went from the first through the 12th grade in an all male military school, except for 1 summer when I failed junior English. There was 1 “regular” in the class who resented me and made the error of picking a fight. Having fought my way through 11 years of being the target of organized military bullying, one more fight was no problem. After I beat the living ???? out of him we went to the Principal’s office. I told the truth about his attack and my most effective response. He went home and never returned. He thought it was his place to punish me for my higher grades in the class. He lost. Not now. The gutless milquetoasts now in charge would have sent me home and promoted him. Another reason I am the “sweet and charming” person I am today!

Good for you, Frank.
I was beaten up for years in public school for loving books and getting good grades. I never stopped, though.
