Poland’s responsible measures should be taken for granted by every Western country. Leaders who allow migrants to break the law and enter borders at will are complicit in crime.
Note how the EU-funded InfoMigrants site indicates that Poland is allowing exceptions for asylum seekers who “have arrived directly (meaning without stops in other countries) from a country where their ‘life and freedom are threatened.'” This should not be characterized as an “exception”; adherence to rule of law should be the rule, not the exception. Poland is one of few countries in the EU that is honoring the International Refugee Convention, and in so doing has legitimately argued that the migrants “are currently on Belarusian territory, meaning they should apply for asylum in that country. It refuses to register any asylum claims from individuals in the group or provide them with any assistance.”
Despite Poland’s reasoned and legally defensible response, Polish President Andrzej Duda’s call “for the state of emergency at the border to be extended for 60 days” has been “widely criticized by human rights organizations.”
“New Polish law to stop migrants,” translated from “Ny polsk lag ska stoppa migranter,” SVT, October 15, 2021:
The Polish parliament has approved an amendment to the law that will make it possible to stop migrants directly at the border. In addition, it will be possible to ignore asylum applications that come from people who have come to the country illegally.
According to the new law, an alien who is stopped after crossing the border illegally will have to leave Polish soil. The person will also be banned from entering the country for a period of between six months and three years.
The government’s plan to build a border wall to prevent migrants from crossing the border from Belarus was also approved by Parliament. The wall is expected to cost 353 million euros (just over 3.5 billion Swedish kronor).
The government has justified the masonry construction by pointing out that more and more migrants, most of them from the Middle East, are crossing the border into Poland.
“Poland passes law allowing migrant pushbacks at border,” InfoMigrants, October 15, 2021:
Poland’s parliament on Thursday passed legislation allowing for migrants to be pushed back at the border. Meanwhile, another migrant has been found dead near the border – the seventh confirmed death in recent weeks.
The amendment passed by the Polish parliament on Thursday (October 14) states that foreigners who are stopped after crossing the Polish border irregularly will be obliged to leave Polish territory. They will be temporarily banned from entering the country for a period between “six months to three years.”
The order to leave may be appealed to the commander of the Border Guard, but this apparently does not suspend its execution.
The Polish authorities will also have the right “to leave unexamined” an asylum application filed by a foreigner who is stopped immediately after entering the country “illegally”. The exception is if they have arrived directly (meaning without stops in other countries) from a country where their “life and freedom are threatened.”
The new regulations must now be signed by President Andrzej Duda to take force. Duda is an ally of the ruling nationalists. At the end of September he had called for the state of emergency at the border to be extended for 60 days — a measure widely critized [sic] by human rights organizations….
Thousands of migrants, many of them from Iraq and Afghanistan, have attempted in recent months to cross from Belarus into Poland as well as Latvia and Lithuania. This started after Belarusian President Alexandr Lukashenko at the end of May declared that he would no longer prevent migrants and refugees from crossing into the European Union. The EU accuses Belarus of deliberately using migrants to put pressure on the EU over sanctions it imposed on Minsk.

It should be explained more detailed. The international Convention does not say that everyone who had no stopover in another country is a refugee on gorunds of this Convention. E.g. people who book a flight to the country they want to live in and then demand asylum are not meant ba the Convention. And Poland should be careful with this exeption.

Poland has stepped in the right direction regarding both legal and illegal immigrants. The West, that part of our world that many legal and illegal Moslems hate, ( and we have the historic evidence of the copious murdered Western citizens, the riots, and the hateful statements made against all who aren’t Moslem), is targeted by illegals and others because they wish to share in its prosperity. During these high immigration years, few – if any – have pondered the bigger problem, that of a lopsided world population where foreigners clamour to enter the West, leaving behind their impoverished, illiterate, disease-ridden home countries. They can only fail and fall to the violence of the disgruntled and those unprepared for life in 21st century political and economic systems. Thinking back historically, we in Europe fought in many wars, big and small, to achieve unparalleled economic and political success. and democratic freedoms. In these wars, we lost sons and daughters – why cannot our immigrants ( many of whom are economic immigrants) do likewise and stay at home?

You are absolutely right, this is a crime against Europeans and our children and grandchildren with out the future, We are working hard , going everyday to work and pay the taxes , this people want something for nothing, doesn’t work that way , never !!, so Germany should stop this big “ humanitarian horror project “ and focus on own country and own people it is disgrace, Germany is destroying not only own country but whole Europe
Walter Sieruk says
That idea that was put into practice is very good resolution on the part of the government officials of Poland.
It’s a sad and sorry shame that in America there is sitting in the White House who is an awful and is masquerading as a genuine US President who likewise so terribly unfit for the Presidential Office that he is either so very feeble -minded and incompetent that he doesn’t understand the need for secure borders or that he is so extremely evil ,sinister and treasonous that he deliberately intents to harm both America and Americans.
Yogi says
Thank You Poland my country, do it quickly before more this savages and child molesters will be near you , Germany should close the borders , beacuse Lukaszenko have plan to bring more this parasites from Jordan , Egypt , and other Muslim countries, so pls. Build tall wall keep them out !!!

The Germans have voted für the invasion. It is heart breaking thinking of the coming years for Germany. They will (re)open the borders even worse than before. SPD. Greenies and FDP plan up to 400000 immigrants per year plus the families who will follow.

They are worse then Merkel&CO, and AFD doesn’t count , this country is finished, reckless Germans, they don’t even realize what’s coming, and now they are living in denial ..

Right & good move. Delighted to see at least one country has seen the beasts & are dealing the way a beast is to be treated.

Good for Poland taking proactive measures!
The reality is quite simple, it’s not islamophobic or xenophobic to praise Poland. It’s reality, Muslims do not assimilate into Western Cultures whether they migrate to Austria, Germany, Poland, Sweden or UK. Even Norway is feeling the wrath of jihad. There is no attempt to assimilate to Polish Culture, Laws or Values. Government of Poland realizes this. Other Euro countries are mired by MultiCulturalism & Political Correctness and relinquish their culture, country & identity thinking they are doing a humanitarian thing. May start out as a feel good humanitarian mission. However, that humanitarian mission is one sided, only the Host Nation side feels that Humanitarian bliss. Islam could care less about a country’s culture, identity & history. It’s dar al-harb!

Good to see Poland displaying some gumption and doing the sensible thing and slamming the door shut on the invading Muslim vermin. Unfortunately, most western European countries still seem to find it acceptable to be treated like passive doormats that the invading scum wipe their feet on as they invade the countries. Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic and Slovakia have it right and they won’t have to put up with so much of the trouble that other countries are going to have to endure from the Muslim barbarians that they have allowed to infest their countries..
john smith says
Yes Tim, good to see Poland displaying some gumption, sadly the the same can’t be said for Western Europe. I am so pissed off with our government here in the UK. They do all the talking of how they are going to stop them, yet they keep flooding in. The worse thing you can do is put them up in luxurious accommodation, feed them, cloth them, give them free healthcare, and spending money. While our government continues down this path the invasion will never end.
tim gallagher says
As you say, john, the UK government does seem to be pretty weak at preventing the invasion going on there. And I guess the word would soon get out to the invaders that the UK is treating them so unbelievably well (luxurious accommodation and all that) and it will be a honey pot for endless other invaders. I think that too many people in our western countries are just too damned nice, or, at least, they want to seem that way, so they are afraid to stop the invasion and slam the door shut on the invaders. Virtue signalling I suppose. Many people in our countries seem to want to be showing all the time that they are the nicest people around. It is good to be nice and pleasant, but being a doormat for these invading Muslims is no good at all. The UK seems well on the way to being overrun by the invading hordes and lost completely.
john smith says
You have a point there Tim, being nice is an incentive for them to invade us.Imagine anyone from a western nation entering a muslim country illegally, do you think they’d give us the same treatment, not a chance in hell.

Yeah, why can’t President Lukashenko take in these refugees? After all, if he thinks that they are good to try sending into Poland, Lithuania and Latvia, then surely they should get along fine w/ Belarus’ own Lipka Tatars?

The Muslim/islamic migration invasion is running at full speed towards the west. Open borders is a major failure of a governments job to protect its citizens lives.
Why is it that Biden’s open border policy is not a criminal act of facilitating a criminal activity against the citizens of America?
Are there no prosecutors willing to charge him with breaking the law? Or do you get a free pass on what laws you as President want to enforce. Breaking the Law is Illegal no matter who you are.
James Lincoln says
OLD GUY,
I’m not an attorney, but I think that Biden’s open border policy could be considered to be a criminal act – treason…
