Some of what you’ll find in The Critical Qur’an. Preorder here.
- Many Islamic spokesman claim that the surrounding context mitigates the sheer horror of Qur’an 9:5, “Kill the polytheists wherever you find them.” But is that really true? Find out how the most influential Islamic commentaries understand this passage.
- Many suras of the Qur’an begin with Arabic letters: “Alif Lam Mim” (2:1). Islamic commentaries generally say only Allah knows their meanings. But they may be evidence of a key non-Islamic source of the Qur’anic text.
- “Fight for the sake of Allah against those who fight against you, but do not transgress.” (Qur’an 2:190) Many Islamic apologists claim that this verse forbids offensive warfare, and that all jihad is defensive. But is this really true?
- Noted Islamic scholar Karen Armstrong claims that the Qur’an teaches “Warfare is an awesome evil.” This is a mistranslation of Qur’an 2:218, which says something quite different. Find out what the Qur’an really says.
- Ahmad al-Tayeb, the Grand Sheikh of al-Azhar, recently claimed that the Qur’an says “Women are equal to men.” But it doesn’t. Find out what the Qur’an really says about women.
- And much more. Stay tuned.

A new type of book. Must read for politicians. Perhaps some could wake up

Is this like a Readers Digest condensed version?
If not, think over the idea. The koran is pretty small, but still too much of a task for most.
CogitoErgoSum says
Yes, it’s one of the most boring books I’ve ever read. I think it could be made shorter if the surahs were placed in chronological order of “revelation” and the verses that were abrogated by later, “better” verses were removed (or maybe highlighted). People would not be confused into thinking that Allah was being contradictory when actually the things being “told” to Muhammad depended upon the circumstances in which he found himself at different periods of his life.
Wellington says
Seconded, CES. In addition to being ridiculous, repetitive, contradictory, i.e., the abrogation nonsense, a rip-off of the Bible, desultory, disturbing (after all, some 60% of the Koran is wrapped up with hating non-Muslims—the Islamic “them” that every totalitarian ideology needs like Jews for Nazism and the upper and middle classes for Marxism), pretty much disgusting overall, et al., the Koran is also, as you stated, a “winner” in the boring category.
I did force myself to read the entire Koran and in addition to all its other negatives, some of which I mentioned above, it is deadly dull. No wonder, at least in part, why Islam is a recipe for the closing of the mind—and just one more reason why I cannot respect any adult who is a willing Muslim.

Thomas Carlyle said that “nothing but a sense of duty” could compel him to read it all the way through.

Yes, it’s boring and ugly–and it has taken a strong sense of duty to get my reading it several times.
Michael Copeland says
Bill Warner has produced a Koran in the right order with repetitions eliminated.

RS had a project some 10 years ago called ‘Blogging the Qur’an’, which was hosted on Hotair.com and reproduced here, and there was a lot of discussion on every segment. It’s far more readable and entertaining than reading any Quran translation or Tafseer. I just wish that it was still here easily available

Thomas Carlyle said that “nothing but a sense of duty” could compel him to read it all the way through.”
Then Thomas Carlyle put it best.
As for me, (Roberta) I had to know why these people could have such a feverish hate of everything decent.
I suffered through every miserable word of the koran,
Im going to look up this Thomas Carlyle, thks.

Can’t wait to read this.

I have 2 of Mr. Spencer’s excellent books. GREAT Author. VERY knowledgeable man.
I pre-ordered this latest book by Mr. Spencer from Amazon back in June with the understanding that it would be delivered sometime in November. I received a notice from Amazon this Saturday that it wouldn’t be sent out until December 21st. Already Amazon is starting its BS.
Dhimmi says
Send it to all politicians in United States and Western Europe
Hank says
Should be required (by Law) reading for all those Muslims being distributed into non-Islamic host countries by the Islamization policies of Trudeau, Merkel, Macron, Priti Boris, and the disastrous, chaotic, amateurish pull-out from Afghanistan. Otherwise, how are you going to counter the pathogen of Islamic doctrine that these people carry with them in their hearts and minds.
A free sponsored and gift-wrapped hard-copy could go to Islamic illiterates: Trudeau, Merkel, Macron, Priti Boris and Ardern
Dhimmi says
Must read for all EU and United States politicians. Send them the link of the books on amazon
James Lincoln says
Does anyone here at Jihad Watch know what “version” of the Koran is the one most widely read by muslims?
I mean, which one do they pass out to prisoners at Gitmo, etc.,?
SKA says
Egyptian 1928 version.
In Arabic only

Thanks, SKA.
