My latest in PJ Media:
Attorney General Merrick Garland generally enjoys the protection of the sycophantic Leftist media that works night and day to conceal the galloping disaster that is the Biden administration. Garland himself appears to harbor a taste for forcibly suppressing opposition voices, as became clear yet again when he set his FBI onto the trail not of jihad terrorists, or migrant criminals, or any other group that the Left would like to pretend doesn’t exist, but of disgruntled parents protesting at school board meetings against the implementation of the race-hate propaganda known as critical race theory in public schools. As Stacey Lennox noted, this “can only be described as a tactic to suppress dissent.” On Wednesday, however, Garland had an unusual experience: He ran into a dissenter. It wasn’t pretty.
The dissident in question was none other than Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR), who was clearly angry that Garland followed the National School Boards Association (which has since backtracked) in portraying parents as domestic terrorists simply for registering their outrage over the divisive Leftist propaganda being forced on children in public schools. Garland, however, insisted that the FBI was only concerned about threats of violence, not about simple dissent. Referring to the directive he sent to agents, he told Cotton: “Nothing in this memorandum or any memorandum is about parents expressing disagreements with their school boards. The memorandum makes clear that parents are entitled to have vigorous debates.”
However, Megan Fox recently did a deep dive into the supposed “threats” that school board members had supposedly received and that justified FBI intervention, and came up empty. Fox concluded: “There isn’t one legitimate threat on the NSBA’s list or a situation that wasn’t handled easily by the police. What the NSBA wants to do is crack down on free speech and, stupidly, they attached to their letter every example of parents speaking freely and demanding that the FBI stop it.”
Cotton was clearly aware of that, and pressed Garland: “So what is the National Security division [of the FBI] doing? They’re supposed to be chasing jihadists and Chinese spies. What is the National Security division have to do with parents at school boards?”
Garland stuck to his story, ignoring the fact that it was already in tatters: “This is not, again, about parents at school boards. This is about threats of violence.”
Cotton immediately called him on his dishonesty: “The very first line in your memorandum refers to ‘harassment and intimidation.’ Why do you continue to dissemble in front of this committee that you are only talking about violence and threats of violence?”
There is more. Read the rest here.

With Senator Cotton here. The federal government is now full of liars, bullies and incompetents. Fauci is another. And of course the doofus at the top, one Joe Biden, whom I refuse to call “”President.”

I watched the hearings yesterday, and just loved how both Josh Hawley and Ted Cruz took Merrick Garland apart. The only thing that saved him was that partisan Abu Ghraib activist Dick Durban calling time on Cruz and ending the questions
To think he would have taken Scalia’s seat on SCOTUS
James Lincoln says
Infidel,
I, too, watched a fair amount of the hearings.
Most infuriating was Garland’s absolute refusal to directly answer simple yes/no questions from Cruz and Hawley.
Garland is a complete Leftist worm.,,
Infidel says
He was a judge! I wondered how he handled witness refusals to answer direct ‘yes/no’ questions back in the day….
Wellington says
“…a complete Leftist worm….”
Well stated, James.
Kepha says
Yes, Cruz should be term-limited into either the Oval Office or a seat on the Supreme Court.
As a teacher, I’ve had my run-ins with difficult parents. But to call parents who speak up at a school board meeting “domestic terrorists” scares the living daylights out of me. We thus have the National Association of School Boards and the Department of Justice coming down against basic First Amendment rights! I frnkly believe that Merrick Garland should be impeached, removed, and disbarred for life.
gravenimage says
Spot on, Kepha.
James Lincoln says
Kepha,
You are correct about Sen. Ted Cruz.
He’d make an excellent US President or US Supreme Court justice.
Infidel says
Lincoln and Kepha
He’s already indicated that he’s not interested in being a judge. As for president, I do think that the next 2 presidents will be President Trump and then Ron DeSantis. Although I don’t think that the latter can be President Trump’s VP, since both can’t be from the same state w/o forfeiting Florida’s 25 electoral votes
James Lincoln says
Infidel,
Agree that Gov. Ron DeSantis would also make an excellent US president.

I cannot help wondering what is in the water that these folks are drinking – hallucinogens? So great is my disappointment in the present administration and all of its lackeys, those who will ( and do) lie and cheat the very public who elected them to office – for both political and criminal reasons, that I tired of attempting to understand any of their goals or policies. They – government admin folks, have left me and millions of others in an opaque mental desert. Weren’t they elected to represent their constituents, and paid handsomely to do so? How can they characterize their labour as ‘representative of the people’ if they clearly lack integrity, personal honour/ bravery, honesty, and instead consistently deliver gobbledygook to the public at every opportunity? They might as well be speaking in Swahili.

‘You Should Resign in Disgrace, Judge’: Tom Cotton Rips Attorney General Garland
…………….
Kudos to Senator Cotton for speaking out!

Finaly Congress, ( or at least a part of it) is beginning to act kUDOS TYO sENATORS COTTON AND CRUZ . I voted Democrat for 70 yeas. Last year is changed ot Republicsan and am glad I did so. Ken

Ken, I mostly changed to voting Republican after 9/11 (except in some cases here in my bluer-than-blue state where all candidates are Democrats–some just better or worse).

Mr. Cotton should be the example for other senators and reps. If more were like him, Mr. Hawley, Mr. Paul, there might be fewer ‘garlands’ around to persecute innocent people.
It has been made known, via the Glenn Beck interview with a parent, that garland’s daughter and son-in-law are the owners of the company that is collecting data on school kids and teaching crt.
That is “why” garland has gone after the parents who are protesting teaching crt. And…he did deny that the case of rape of the young girl in the school restroom was the “basis” for his directive…which Mr. Cotton questioned regarding the issue date.
garland is a sleaze, liar and snake.
Infidel says
Yesterday, when Sen Cruz asked him, ‘Would your son-in-law make more money if Critical Race Theory were to be taught in schools’, it was priceless watching Garland trying to squirm out of it: he had to be rescued by Imam Dick Durban of Abu Ghraib calling time on Cruz
Congress should keep Garland tied up in the Capitol this way so that he doesn’t have time to direct his department to go after parents or MAGA supporters
somehistory says
The next decent guy to ask him questions should ask that question early on so the “time” thing can be ignored.
The fact that durbin wouldn’t allow it to be answered says more than the answer would have. Cahoots…all need the big boots and the locks changed once they have been kicked out.
Infidel says
The time thing had little to do w/ the time of day, and more to do w/ the number of minutes assigned. And the reason Ted Cruz ran out of time was that Judge Garland was busy dodging simple yes/no questions, such as whether he consulted the Justice Department’s ethics office on whether he ought to recuse himself given the conflict of interests b/w his son-in-law owning a company that sells CRT material to schools and him getting his department to crack down on parents opposing the teaching of CRT in schools. Garland came up w/ the incredulous response that there was no co-relation b/w the 2, which prompted Cruz’s follow-up on whether his son-in-law would make more money if CRT was enforced
somehistory says
I know it wasn’t the “time” of day. I meant early on in the time the questioner is allowed.
I have watched those sessions many times and know how the person does when they don’t want a question asked and answered, but it is possible…I’ve seen it done…to get it in before the time can be called.
So, the next guy could begin with, “Sen. Cruz asked, and so will I, if your daughter will profit from crt?”

Responsible caring parents are a threat to democrats. Words are a weapon to be feared in democrat circles. Being a disgrace gets you bonus points and a promotion within the democrat idiocracy. If you are a responsible caring parent, according to democrats, you are an enemy of their state of confusion.
We would have greater success giving medicine to the dead rather than attempting to have a rational discussion with democrats.

They want to turn kids against their parents. From where does DNA come? From our two parents. If a child is told that in their DNA is a racist gene that cannot be undone and tells the kid that he/she gets the gene from the parents, and thus the kid is hated by everyone…even people of their own skin color…he can come to hate his parents for giving him the gene.
Teachers, and not all fall this way, like to portray themselves as the know-everything group and parents as idiots who know nothing. The kid is taught to believe that the parents are idiots…and bearers of bad/evil genes.
When parents take an interest in their kids education, and esp if they object to things being shoved down their kids’ throats as though it is absolute truth, the teachers’ don’t like it enough to complain that parents need to stay out of the schools except to bring cakes and things for the sales they like to have to buy things for classrooms.

Saw this posted on another site. Angry Loudoun County mother: “My six-year-old somberly came to me and asked if she was born evil because she was a white person, something she learned in a history lesson at school.”
Sickeningly evil people. There are no words. Well, actually, there are words but I cannot post them here as the moderators wouldn’t allow it.
Infidel says
You just reminded me of one parent – forgetting whether it was in Fairfax or Loudoun or somewhere else – reading out a porn book that was available at the kids’ library at the school, and being scolded by the supervisor that this was a family gathering. The parent then said, ‘Thank you for making my point for me!’
I however suspect that these sociopathic school board supervisors failed to grasp the irony of their statements
As a resident of Loudoun County, I finally voted 2 days ago straight ticket GOP. Hopefully, this parents’ uprising in both Fairfax and Loudoun county will deny the Dems the margins that they get from Northern Virginia in painting the whole state blue, and make it at least a purple, if not a fully red state
gravenimage says
Terrible, tgusa. This shames white people with unearned guilt–including small children–and teaches non-white kids to hate them. As bad as things are now, how much worse will they be once this generation reaches adulthood if nothing changes?
tgusa says
Reading that stuff in the company of adults, prohibited. Putting those books in a kids library, approved. This cannot be a one off here or there it has to be a deeply ingrained part of the culture of the left. I cant imagine, nor do I want to, what those people do behind closed doors at home. Good luck, I hope yours and others votes count.
tgusa says
Never allow them to shame you gravenimage. There is nothing to be ashamed of. Kids are the target now (easy targets) and that is about as shameful as anyone could get. What the left says or does can never change what you know and do.
somehistory says
It doesn’t seem that long ago that kids were told they couldn’t wear pants too tight, shorts and skirts too short, low-cut dresses, and even cut-off jeans were prohibited.
Now, it is totally the opposite and it seems that the “teachers” are ghouls and perverts with evil intent and it has nothing to do with teaching the kids things they need to know.
Home school is the best idea. My youngest never went to public education until he went to university….online…and then on to Law school and he had very good grades throughout.
He is appalled at what is happening, so much worse than when I kept him out of the public schools and says his kids will never attend public school
I feel so very sorry for the little kids.
tgusa says
Infidel,
ISIS is threatening terror attacks on shopping malls or shopping centers located in the Washington, D.C. suburbs of Northern Virginia.
And here I thought you only had concern yourself with democrats. You have to keep your head on a swivel when you live among head on a post democrats.
tgusa says
That is great to hear somehistory. Congratulations. In reality, good parenting, does matter. Don’t be surprised if the left hates you for being a good and caring parent. They’re jealous, envious, that you can go where they could never go.

When you allow the Government to educate your population you are NOT FREE.
When you are no longer allowed to speak or yell at your sorry ass political leaders or school board you are NOT FREE.

When your political leaders can refuse to answer for their actions you are NOT FREE.
America is almost no longer the home of the FREE. If they can tax you for the air you breathe they will.
