My latest in PJ Media:
Any time Old Joe Biden gets near a microphone, there is a very real possibility that he will confirm Barack Obama’s famous dictum: “Don’t underestimate Joe’s ability to f*** things up.” In a Veterans Day speech Thursday, Biden blundered toward a point, saying: “You know, I’ve adopted the attitude of the great Negro at the time, pitcher in the Negro leagues, went on to become a great pitcher in the pros, in the Major League Baseball after Jackie Robinson, his name was Satchel Paige.”
It’s fairly clear what was going on in the senescent puppet’s cobwebbed mind. He meant that Satchel Paige had been a great pitcher in the Negro Leagues, and that’s absolutely true. But the “Imagine if Trump had said this” scenarios unfold with particular piquancy this time. Biden’s vintage-1955 characterization of Satchel Paige will be excused as a slip of the tongue, as another valiant effort by Old Joe to overcome his famous “stutter,” while it’s patently obvious that if Trump had made a similar slip of the tongue, it would be held up relentlessly in the establishment media as a Freudian slip, as evidence that Trump, in his heart of hearts, longs for the bad old days of Jim Crow and the slaver’s lash.
Biden, meanwhile, clearly really likes his Satchel Paige story, but he never can seem to manage to tell it right. When the pseudo-president met with pseudo-Pope Francis on October 29, he bizarrely told him, “You’re the famous African-American baseball player in America,” to which the woke Pontiff politely and uncomprehendingly responded, “I know.” Biden then explained, or tried to, by telling Francis that Paige “pitched a win on his 47th birthday” (he didn’t), and that sportswriters then told him, “Satch, no one’s ever pitched a win at age 47,” (not true), and that Paige had responded: “Boys, that’s not how I look at age. I look at it this way: How old would you be if you didn’t know how old you were?”
That was one part of Biden’s story that was actually accurate: Paige really did say that, and was famous for his longevity. He even pitched three innings against the Boston Red Sox when he was 58 years old, and as I am 59 as I type this, I can tell you from personal experience that those three innings must have been one of the most remarkable displays of athleticism that America and the world have ever seen. And that was actually Biden’s point: that he is 78 years old, and the pope is 84, but they are vigorous for their ages, as was old Satchel Paige, mowing down batters who hadn’t even been born yet when he began pitching professionally.
There is more. Read the rest here.

Except Paige was a great baseball pitcher, whereas Biden and Francis are crummy in their jobs, and millions of people wish they would go away. That is the difference.

During the great Dem debate for Dem leadership, KamaSutra SLAMMED Old Joe-mentia as a RACIST … don’t you remember?
Well, she probably believes it even more now. Will any of the Dems condemn this gaffe?
Will black Americans who voted for Joe-mentia now REPENT of their misguided choice? How much more proof do they need? Don’t black Americans know that Joe-mentia campaigned against bussing on the grounds that it would create a ‘RACIAL JUNGLE’ … ??
mortimer says
Joe-mentia is a life-long, career plagiarist, picking from stories what elements he likes and then mischaracterizing the real story for political manipulation.
That is exactly what we see Mohammed doing in the Koran and hadiths … plagiarizing and mischaracterizing … repeatedly.

And O’Bummer is living proof of that old adage that even a stopped clock is right twice a day.

It’s excused away…”it’s just joe being joe.” While other people who happen to be on the list for societal extermination, are not allowed any *excuses* and everything said is attacked…as lies, as racist, as conspiracy theory, as terror threats…whatever floats their boat. And anything left unsaid…is treated in the same manner.
biden may be failing mentally, and one might say he is no longer responsible for what exists his mouth. On the other hand, he may not be as far gone as it appears. Who can trust a liar? No one should.
But those who excuse his every blunder, know full-well what they are doing and it is all plain evil.

The imagine-if-Trump-said-it is absolutely true. In the 2016 campaign, in one of the critiques of him, there was a quote of the old Trump (when he used to be a celebrity), “I have a great relationship with the blacks. I’ve always had a great relationship with the blacks.” He got a good deal of grief for that grammar

Unless there is good reason to refer to a person’s race, colour or religion to do so shows a level of prejudice. It would have been just as easy, if not easier, to simply say something like: “In quoting that ageless and great American pitcher, Satchel Paige…” That Paige was black is irrelevant to his quote. What was relevant was that he was too old to still be pitching in the majors.
Similarly, there would be no point in referring to Jackie Robinson as being black when quoting him on the art of base stealing.
Biden should have known better..

Historically, the use of the term “Negro” (e.g., “The United Negro College Fund”) in the United States was once the preferred term by Blacks.

Then it became a cuss word if used by non-Blacks and people on the right, but in the meantime, it remained fine for Blacks to use the other 6-letter n-word while referring to themselves

Did biden say that Paige was articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy?
Biden on Strom Thurmond. “The truth and genius and virtue of Strom Thurmond is what I choose and we all choose to remember today.”
Genius. Biden has always been at the top of the manure pile when it comes to thoughtless thinking.

I can’t stand Biden or the Democrats, but there is nothing wrong with the word negro. It simply means black, derived from nigreos, the latin word for black. MLK used it all the time.
The term African-American is much more offensive. It implies that blacks aren’t true Americans. No white people call themselves European-Americans.

Joe Biden Refers to Satchel Paige as ‘The Great Negro’
……………….
And ol’Joe was babbling to the pontiff about Satchel Paige the other day, as noted. Has he gotten to the point where he has one story he trots out for all occasions?
And yes–“negro” is now considered a racist term by everyone Biden knows. Not sure how they are going to deal with this.
It seems that #racistbiden is trending–but the Negro Leagues Museum said it feels “honored” by his mention of Satchel Paige.
My guess is this will be mostly buried. Not the case if Trump or some other Republican had said it, of course…

gravenimage,
I fully expect Sleepy Joe to get some more “mileage” out of Satchel Paige during his next bungling “press conference”…

Actually Joe Biden said great Negro league pitcher which was the actual name of the league.

You never know what’s going to come out of Joe’s mouth, one of these days he may actually say something that is true. That scares the hell out of his handlers and Hunter. I wouldn’t be surprised if his handlers have a panic button that will kill the microphone and cameras if he heads down the wrong path. Total puppet.

Those on the left are now blaming Fox News for releasing an edited version of Biden’s speech–even though this is common and does not alter his message. Odd stuff, but no surprise.

The left are hating whats going on. Others are starting to play by their rules. That is a grave sin, an abomination. I would like to greet the left with a welcome to their new normal. Their new normal. A new normal that they the left have constructed. The left designed the rules forgetting that others might be willing to play that same game against them. Welcome to the new normal, lefties.

That’s why his handlers kept the old coot safely esconced away from that dangerous device, the microphone!
As Obama famously remarked “Don’t underestimate old Joe’s ability to f*** things up.” LOL. He knows him!
All this was happening at the same time the Zuckerbucks were busy at work to the tune of over 400 million!
As it turned out that money was used to hire armies of lawyers, activists, laptops, car rentals and much more…
And now the results are in. The Biden administration has done much more damage to the Republic in the few months in has been in power than the 4 years of the Carter administration.
