“Pakistan’s ambassador to Afghanistan Mansoor Ahmad Khan said that visas to the Taliban diplomats have also been issued.” Still trying to downplay the obvious, Khan “added that issuance of the visas does not mean recognition but facilitation.’” Why would anyone facilitate an entity it does not recognize?
Prior to the Taliban’s takeover of Afghanistan, Pakistan was at first trying to minimize the extent of its longtime support for the group, as it continued its double game with America and other Western countries. It was already announced in August that the Taliban already has a billion-dollar budget, in foreign donations, thanks to Pakistan.
After the Taliban takeover, other world powers softened toward the jihadist group. The UN issued a plea for “humanitarian” funds (which will go straight to the Taliban to spread Sharia). Biden sent $144 million in aid to the Taliban, and Britain expressed openness to the Taliban if they could respect inclusivity (a joke). Pakistan is now freer to take the mask off: “the Taliban have also appointed diplomats at Afghan consulates in Pakistan’s three provincial capitals, Karachi, Peshawar and Quetta.”
As a leader in the Taliban friendship chorus, especially now that China and Iran have accepted the Taliban as a “legitimate interim government,” Pakistan is now helping the Taliban concretize its status as legitimate.
Jihadists always escalate when they face no opposition, and/or in the face of cowardice. The free world will pay a dear price for the growth of the Taliban.
“Taliban send envoy to Pakistan as ‘diplomats’ start work in capital city Islamabad,” by Anas Mallick, WION, October 29, 2021:
As the Taliban government is looking to get formal recognition by the international community after they seized power in Afghanistan, its ‘diplomats’ have started work in the Afghan embassy in Pakistan’s capital, Islamabad and at Afghan consulates in other cities.
Pakistan’s ambassador to Afghanistan Mansoor Ahmad Khan said that visas to the Taliban diplomats have also been issued. But he added that issuance of the visas does not mean recognition but “facilitation”.
“These visas have been issued for facilitating consular work and visa facilities for Pakistanis visiting Afghanistan for humanitarian work and providing assistance to Afghan citizens in Pakistan, Issuance of the visas does not mean recognition but facilitation,” said Mansoor Ahmad Khan, Pakistan’s ambassador to Afghanistan.
Sardar Muhammad Shokaib, who is also known as Mosa Farhad, has taken charge as the first secretary in the Afghan embassy in Islamabad. On the other hand, the Taliban have also appointed diplomats at Afghan consulates in Pakistan’s three provincial capitals, Karachi, Peshawar and Quetta.
Hafiz Mohibullah, who is the official deployed in Peshawar, was formally introduced to the staff. He also assumed his duties Wednesday and would deal with consular affairs in lieu of the consul general.
Mullah Ghulam Rasool has been posted at Quetta, the capital of southwestern Balochistan province, while another senior Taliban leader, Mullah Muhammad Abbas, has been assigned to the Karachi consulate.
It is also important to note that Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan’s government has called on the world to engage with the Taliban and provide economic support to the aid-dependent country which has seen funding frozen by Western donors since the takeover.
Meanwhile, the Taliban government is asking for the release of billions of dollars of central bank reserves as the nation faces a cash crunch, mass starvation and a new migration crisis…..

What absolute doublespeak! Pakistan recognizesm but doesn’t recognize the political force it has been training and financing secretly for years. They simply want to continue funding jihadists without upsetting the international community. Pakistan actually destroyed a democratic government in a neighboring country without giving a reason for doing so!
Does Pakistan have a valid reason for destroying the elected government of Afghanistan? Did the government of Afghanistan threaten Pakistan in any way? No? Then Pakistan wantonly destroyed Afghanistan just for the FUN of it. Or there are Pakistani oligarchs who will make tons of money off of the Taliban … that is the only explanation that makes any sense.
This debacle is absolute stupidity and millions of innocent civilians are suffering. Pakistan is an international pariah state.
