At the Vienna negotiations, Russia and China continue to support Iran. Meanwhile, the E3 countries – the U.K., Germany, and France – are not inclined to be tough on Iran. They did not follow America’s lead and reimpose sanctions themselves. However, Iran’s maximalist demand this November, when the talks resumed five months after the Iranians had walked out, that all sanctions be removed before it would agree to discuss a return to the 2015 deal, has greatly alarmed the European signatories. They may be more severe with Iran, as a consequence, than they had initially planned. “Biden fiddles around while Iran builds a bomb and hegemony,” by Mitchell Bard, Israel Hayom, December 2, 2021:
While the focus is rightly on the Biden administration, don’t forget that a part of the Obama scam to sell the deal was the promise that there would be “snapback” sanctions if Iran violated the agreement. The European signatories have refused to re-impose sanctions, have resisted even a meaningless censure of Iran’s violations and consistently sought ways around US sanctions. The other parties to the deal, Russia and China, never stopped supporting Iran.
Given the fecklessness of our allies, it is up to Biden to take action to stop Iran from building a bomb, but does anyone believe he is willing to use the military force necessary (which is not necessarily another “Operation Desert Storm” as fearmongers insist)? He ambiguously talks about “other options” if negotiations fail; however, the Iranians believe these threats are as empty as Obama’s “all options are on the table” rhetoric, especially after pulling our troops and equipment from the Middle East and repeatedly stating his priority is Asia.
Having left Afghanistan entirely, and intending to soon remove the last 2500 American troops from Iraq, Biden has signaled his desire to leave the Middle East, which the Iranians have interpreted as including an unwillingness to use force to halt their nuclear program.
Finger-wagging is not a foreign policy, and it doesn’t scare Iran whose armed forces spokesman said, “We will not back off from the annihilation of Israel, even one millimeter. We want to destroy Zionism in the world.”
Iran is clearly undeterred by the Bidenites. It proceeds with its uranium enrichment program, which Israel believes has now allowed it to produce uranium at 60% purity, just one step below the level of 90% purity that is weapons-grade. And Israelis, unlike the Americans, know that Iranians mean what they say when an army spokesman insists “we will not back off from the annihilation of Israel….We want to destroy Zionism in the world.”
Rather than adopt former Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s confrontational approach, Naftali Bennett has been more diplomatic to avoid antagonizing the president. He has left no doubt, however, that Israel will defend its interests if the United States does not negotiate an agreement that makes it impossible for Iran to build a bomb, develop ballistic missiles, sponsor global terror and threaten its neighbors.
Bennett is not about to publicly challenge the Biden Administration, as former Prime Minister Netanyahu did when he addressed Congress during the Obama years. He has made clear, quietly, that Israel will “defend its interests” If the negotiations in Vienna do not lead to an agreement that will prevent Iran from producing a nuclear weapon. He means, everyone understands, that unlike the U.S., Israel is prepared to use military force directly against Iran if that proves to be the only way to halt Iran’s production of a nuclear weapon.
For now, the [Biden] administration seems determined to engage in sabotage. No, not sabotage of the Iranian nuclear program but of Israeli actions to stop Iran from getting a bomb. Biden officials have been reportedly leaking information to The New York Times about Israeli operations. One reason may be the desire to show the Iranians they are interested in negotiating in good faith and, like in 2015, won’t allow Israel to spoil the appeasement party.
This abandonment, and even undermining, of our ally Israel, as it tries to slow down or halt Iran’s nuclear program, is intolerable. The leaking by administration officials of Israeli plans to deal with Iran’s nuclear program, thereby alerting the Islamic Republic, removes the element of surprise and allows Iran to better prepare for what Israel is revealed to be planning, by reinforcing security at certain sites, moving some critical equipment out of harm’s way, replacing current personnel who may have been inveigled into becoming saboteurs, convinced that they were working not for Israel but for the Iranian “resistance.” At Natanz in 2020, the saboteurs were apparently ten Iranian nuclear scientists who thought exactly that – that they were working not for Israel but for the secular “resistance” to the theocratic regime. The American leakers of Israeli plans are making it harder for the Israelis to carry out their operations.
There is perhaps a more nefarious reason, which I warned about when Biden named his foreign-policy team. Some of the leaks reflect a return to the discredited thinking of the Arabists. The best example was the leak to the Times asserting that the Iranian-instigated drone strike on the US base in Syria on Oct. 20 was retaliation for Israeli airstrikes on Iranian targets in Syria. The idea that Israeli actions endanger American soldiers in the region is a staple of Arabist efforts to undermine the US-Israel relationship.
“I was reminded of 2010 when Obama’s defense department put out a report spuriously claiming troops were in harm’s way because of American support for Israel. It also said, “Arab anger over the Palestinian question limits the strength and depth of US partnerships with governments and peoples,” a view that was not only false but helps explain why it took sidelining the Arabists to reach the Abraham Accords….
In fact, growing Arab indifference to, or even resentment of, the ever-demanding Palestinians, and the desire to promote their national self-interest, led to the Abraham Accords, which showed up as false the State Department Arabists’ insistence that “Arab anger over the Palestinian question” has limited US partnerships with Arab states and peoples. Where is that “Arab anger” about the Palestinian question? Not in the UAE or Bahrain or Morocco or Sudan, all members of the Abraham Accords that have normalized ties with Israel. Not in Egypt, which collaborates closely on security matters in the Sinai with the Israelis. Not in Saudi Arabia, which also collaborates with Israel against their common enemy, Iran, and whose Crown Prince exasperatedly told Mahmoud Abbas in2018 to “accept whatever deal the Americans offer.”
The Bidenites have been so desperate to have the negotiations with Iran start up again that they have been willing even to withhold information about an attack by Iranian drones on American troops at al-Tanf airbase in Syria, in order not to anger Iran.
Critics of taking military action against Iran suggest that the United States is in no danger even if Iran gets nuclear weapons. We’re far away; they won’t attack us. Why should we care if a bunch of Arab sheikhdoms that are exacerbating climate change with their fossil fuels are in danger? And the Jews? All they do is cause us headaches. Come to think of it, why should we care about Ukraine, Taiwan or anywhere else? Is there anything worth fighting for anymore?
It’s true that the U.S. is thousands of miles from Iran; there is some safety in distance. And any Iranian nuclear strike on America would lead to a response so devastating that Iran as a state would likely collapse. The mullahs know this, and while they may attack American military in Syria and Iraq, they will not be so foolish as to attack the American homeland. Of course, that conclusion assumes that the Iranian leaders are rational men, not fanatics hellbent on destroying the most important Infidel state. t is likely that Teheran would want to use its handful of nuclear weapons first on Israel, the Jewish state sitting on “stolen land” in the middle of Dar al-Islam, that must be “annihilated.” Then, it makes sense for Iran, with whatever nuclear weapons may be left over, to attack Saudi Arabia, the leading Sunni state and an implacable enemy of Iran, which since 2014 has been trying to prevent a takeover of Yemen by Iranian-backed Houthis.
It makes no sense for the Americans to get further involved with foiling Iran, our new America-First brigade assures us. We don’t need Middle Eastern oil; in fact, having it kept off the world market would only help us to move more quickly away from dependence on fossil fuels. As for Saudi Arabia, why should we care whether Shiites or Sunnis run Yemen?
When it comes to Israel, some assure us that yes, we “wish the Jewish state well” but “Israel has always shown it can take care of itself.” And “of course we will supply the Israelis with the panoply of weapons they need, including bunker busters for use at Fordow and similar sites inside mountains or deep underground, and with other weapons, too, including bombers able to carry those 20,000 lb. MOPs (Massive Ordnance Penetrators) that are capable of penetrating to such deep-delved sites. We will make sure that we preserve Israel’s QME (Qualitative Military Edge). Those MOPs should be enough to allow the Israelis to prevent Iran from producing nuclear weapons. But the U.S. will not, itself, take military action against Iran. The Bidenites have made that clear. It’s all on Israel’s shoulders.
And if somehow Iran were to acquire 1-2 nuclear weapons, Israel’s own stockpile of 75-200 nuclear weapons would allow it to devastate, in any nuclear exchange, even a country as large as Iran. Surely the Iranian rulers, as rational men, wouldn’t want to risk that. But are they rational men?
Michael Copeland says
Are they rational men?
They are twelver Shi’ites.

It’s only nature for those jihad-minded Muslims in total power in Iran grow more arggrant since Russia and China will continue to give support that tyrannical Islamic Iranian regime.
Even more so the Islamic arrogance of those who control that Islamic tyranny will increase since the United States now has a weak and traitorous old man , Joe Biden, sitting in the White House Oval Office masquerading as a genuine US President.
President pretender Biden is such a stooge of that Islamic regime that he done everything he possibly can to unhold that cruel brutal hostile anti-American Islamic regime which hates America with a strong Islamic passion and even calls her “The Great Satan.”
Biden being their tool and fool has waved the sanction put on it by the Trump Administration and likewise released the foreign economic bank accounts which had been frozen against it.
Taking all this in view it’s certain that America and the American people will suffer future Iranian jihad -operative Islamic terror attacks or future murderous and destructive jihadist terrorist attack from some or all of Iran’s backed jihad organizations .

The only way to stop Iran from building a nuclear bomb is militarily, that’s only way, and the longer you leave it the more difficult it’s going to be. You cannot negotiate with those who are hellbent on war with the infidels, and the destruction of our civilisation. They have to be confronted.
Wellington says
“They have to be confronted.”
Iran will be, john smith, by Israel, which is now on its own as long the doofus Biden is in the Oval Office. Get someone like Trump or DeSantis in the Oval Office come January 2025 and Israel will once again have a stalwart ally.
I must end this communication to you by stating my utter contempt for all those who ACTUALLY voted for Biden. What fools or worse they are and this is being demonstrated with more and more evidence with each passing week. Biden is a giant nothing, a political hack of some fifty years duration, and who gets virtually everything ass-backwards. All those who ACTUALLY voted for Biden (millions of bogus votes not included) should hang their head in shame for doing so. The man is a continuing disaster for America and for the West in general. I refuse to call him “President.” I will never do so.
john smith says
I hope your right Wellington, because Israel knows whats in store for them if they don’t. But Israel shouldn’t be standing alone on this one, as it’s in the interest of the whole world.
I couldn’t agree more with what you have to say about Biden. Since this man has taken office, our planet has never been in a more precarious position, we are now living in a very very dangerous world.
James Lincoln says
Wellington,
I, too, have *never ever* referred to Sleepy Creepy Joe as “President”.

Well said, Wellington (and John Smith).

“They have to be confronted.”
Short of a Iranian second revolution, confrontation is inevitable.
Iran represents the last true fanatic-led Islamic nation which believes it can conquer the unbelieving West with force. History, since WWI, has shown the foolishness and horrific cost of provoking the West or Israel over bellicose Palestinians who won’t accept any form of peace.
Some Islamic nations now understand they were used as a bodyguard by a mouthy kid who only wants to fight.
Iran could have a bomb in just a few months because the enrichment of 60% U235 to 90% proceeds much faster than from 0.7% to 60%.
Think of the atoms as marbles. Start with trying to pick up 1 marble mixed in with 139 different marbles, with a small shovel. Now imagine trying to pick up the correct marbles from another pile when they are 60 out of every 100 marbles. Much easier and faster. With a very large pile of 60/40 marbles, it doesn’t require much efficency to make another pile of 90/100. In reality, these are gases that are spun in a centrifuge to separate them by their small mass difference.
The clock is ticking toward Israeli action for survival.
Westman says
“Pile of 90/100”, should be, “pile of 90/10”
commonsense says
Thanks for the explanation, Westman.

Since Russia and China now strongly backing Iran and with Joe Biden sitting in ,as in posing as the President of the United States, Iran’s President Rasis and Ayatollah Khomeini and the other the ayatollahs as well as mullahs along with the members of Iran’s parliament probably feel that they really have the Western nation under their control.
As for that treasonous weak and feeble minded Biden has lifted more sanctions and likewise given more concessions to that aggressive hostile tyrannical Islamic regime of Iran which despites America so much that one of the titles that it gave the United States is “The Great Satan” and one of its main theme to “Death to America.”
Indeed that “mullah tyranny” would be glad the destructions of the US to the degree that Iran’s regime is a “spirit” of a jihad, “holy war ” against America.
Therefore Biden by lifting sanctions on Iran and even making more concession to it horrible old Joe is “giving aid and comfort to the enemy in a time of war.”
So Biden is clearly treasonous villain against the United States of America, even much worse than Benedict Arnold

Good thing thats just an American flag burning, if it were a Quran the media would have a shit fit and Muslims would want to behead someone. It’s kind of scary when people burn the flag of America which represents freedom and then display outrage at the burning of a book that represent oppression.
