Direct fallout from Biden’s handlers’ obvious weakness.
“Iran Threatens to Light Israel on Fire,” by Adam Kredo, Washington Free Beacon, December 19, 2021:
Iran threatened on Sunday to light Israel on fire, marking the Islamic Republic’s latest threat to destroy the Jewish state amid an escalating proxy war between the countries.
An Iranian government-controlled Twitter account posted an image of Israel constructed of matches and included the warning, “Just try and you will see.” The message, also written in Hebrew, is a warning to Israel that if it attempts any attack on Iran’s nuclear infrastructure, the hardline regime will start a war. The pack of matches included in the image states, “ballistic matchbook,” an indication that Iran will use its enormous stockpile of advanced long-range missiles to target sites across Israel.
The threat comes as Iran continues to increase its nuclear work, including the enrichment of uranium—the key component in an atomic weapon—to the highest levels in its history. Iran is just a stone’s throw away from creating highly enriched uranium, which could power a bomb carried by the rogue country’s advanced ballistic missiles.
While the Biden administration has been working for months to ink a revamped version of the 2015 nuclear accord, Israel continues to sound the alarm on Tehran’s nuclear work. Israeli government leaders oppose the negotiations and worry the Biden administration is allowing Tehran to boost its atomic weapons program as negotiations drag on as the year comes to a close. The United States has already signaled that it is willing to unwind sanctions on Iran—providing the country access to billions of dollars in cash assets—if the hardline regime agrees to some restrictions on its nuclear program.
Amid negotiations, Iran and Israel have been locked in an escalating proxy war. Tehran is using its terrorist proxies, such as Hamas and Hezbollah in Lebanon, to attack Israeli positions with armed drones and other weapons. Israel has responded by striking back at these terror groups and also conducting clandestine operations within Iran aimed at sabotaging its nuclear program.
A coalition of nearly 3,000 Israeli military leaders, intelligence officials, and security personnel warned earlier this week in a direct appeal to the Biden administration that diplomacy with Tehran “poses a significant threat to Israel’s security,” the Washington Free Beacon reported.
“Returning to this expired and flawed agreement would be a grave mistake,” the military leaders wrote. Iran’s only goal, they say, is to create a “nuclear umbrella under which Tehran can dominate the region.”…

The frail 98-lb weakling in the Oval Office is having sand kicked in his face. He will do nothing to stop the Iranians and they know it. John Kerry has relatives in Iran who work for the government.
Israel will again stand alone against big bullies.
Just wait till Iran has an a-bomb.
A weak American president emboldens international terrorism. Three years more of this weakling.

Grimly spot on.

It is ever increasingly difficult for me to exculpate anyone who actually, emphasis here on “actually,” voted for this utterly mediocre man, one Biden by name, who does not have a single redeeming quality.
Biden is the travesty still in the making. He is the “nothing person” who is a front man for stupidity and evil. I do believe that as each month (week?, day?) proceeds, the “Nothing Man” is shaping up as arguably the single worst mistake in American history, though someone like the giant “Deceptive Man,” i.e., Barack Obama, and to a lesser extent, the “Nothing Family,” i.e., the Bushes, never mind the ever annoying corrupt and parasitic Clintons, are giving the “Nothing Man” a run, so to speak, for his money respecting just how far America has sunk since Reagan.
Yes, just think of it. Since 1989 we have had the Bushes, two Clintons “for the price of one,” the haters of America who are the Obamas (“America is a mean country” per Michelle even though America, contra the ignoramus and forever functioning in victim-mode Michelle, has not stopped the Obamas from having a multi-million dollar mansion on Martha’s Vineyard (Dukes County, MA).
Political mediocrities (or worse) represent the true bane to any polity and not the enemy without. Presently, America is suffused with mediocrities or worse, including a plethora of RINOs like McConnell, Murkowski, Cheney, Kinzinger and Collins, never mind the truly evil or destructively dumb like Omar and AOC respectively.
Again I state that America was founded by just about the most impressive generation in all of history and is now led by two generations or more of morons, the actually malevolent and the “merely” corrupt. It’s the Late Roman Empire in the 1st century BC all over again, and which I am certain AOC could expound upon at length so extensive is her historical knowledge. Yeah, right.

Westman says
Wellington, that last paragraph is a true summary.
We seem to be poised for a, “Perfect Storm”:
Inflation rampant.
Housing out of reach for the young.
Over-valued Stock Market stuffed with retirement funds.
A generation without appreciation for the nation’s founders.
Hordes on the road to the world’s “Romes”
Government embracing Marxism.
Leadership, like the addicted, abandoning an ally, making bad deals for just a few more peaceful days before an external enemy makes the unavoidable attack and triggers economic collapse.
Then comes the whimper.
It may not be the exact history of Rome yet it sure as hell rhymes.
James Lincoln says
Westman says,
“Over-valued Stock Market stuffed with retirement funds.”
Very likely so.
People with IRAs / 401(k)s have been forced heavily into stocks as the only real alternative to very low interest rates.
When interest rates eventually rise, money will start to flow out of the S&P 500 index funds into government bond funds – safe havens…

Yes–scary stuff.

Agree absolutely, and it’s devastating to observe from across the Atlantic.

One has to wonder what goes on in the minds of those who want to see iran destroy Israel…Do they believe that once iran has destroyed Israel, they will be content with their actions and stop with that destruction?
This threat brings to my mind the Book of Ezekiel…a book with a lot of prophecy yet to be fulfilled.
The chapters 37-39 describe the war that iran wants to have with Israel to destroy the nation and “take much spoil.”
The outcome will not be what iran and its partners in the war expect.

………….
Bloody thugs. Will Biden say anything to them? Don’t count on it…
Wellington says
Indeed, gravenimage. With Biden, best to assume this doofus will always exercise the wrong option.
He did even when he was in full possession of the utterly mediocre mind he had before the onset of the diminution of that mediocre mind, including not once but twice when in the Senate voting to place taxes on Social Security—in the 1980’s on 50% of it and in the 1990’s on 85% of it, and thus Biden averring he stands up for the common man represents just one more lie by this monumental nothing who is now killing the common man by way of the cruelest tax of all, i.e., inflation, via sundry moronic initiatives like cancelling the Keystone Pipeline.
I have a description for all those in the middle and lower classes who ACTUALLY voted for Biden. That description is “fool.” Sorry, but no prisoners because by now there is zero excuse not to have known about the real Biden by the 2020 election.

Grimly true, Wellington.
Westman says
The polls show those most gullible, the voting youth, are having voters remorse.
Former student: “Mr, President are you going to forgive $50,000 of my student debt?”
Biden: “No. $10,000, uhh, maybe, end of message”

As for the vicious and hostile Islamic regime of Iran which is so filled with ant-Jewish malice that it threatens “to light Israel on fire” We all may be reasonable sure that those ayatollahs and mullahs who have so much terrible power and influence in that Islamic tyranny are behind this .
i
In the end Israel will service and those same Muslim clerics will be on one in and on fire in hell.

I just took a good look at that picure–the map of Israel made out of matches. I think it may have been inspired by these moronic “artists”, who set a similar map of France on fire, and when doing the same thing to a map of the US had to have the fire department come out when things got out of hand:

Rafael says
Iran is a genocidal terror state. It’s the today’s Nazi Germany along eith Turkey. Why does any human rights organization or a Western democracy do something to tople this regime, instead of having deals with them? Sadly, the free Western governments deals with terrorist states like Iran and are betraying both their Western people and Iranians.
gravenimage says
The US should not be dealing with them–and we didn’t for decades.
As for toppling the Mullahs, though, I doubt it would do much good. We tried to civilize Iraq and Afghanistan, and we see how that went. I know a lot of people claim that all Iranians are actually agnostic lovers of democracy, but I’ll believe it when I see it.
Rafael says
In my opinion, Iraq and Afghanistan has not been able to civilize because overwhelming majority of those countries are fanatically Muslims. About Iran, I don’t claim every Iranian wants a secular, democratic government, but I believe there are many Iranians that are secular, and nominally Muslims, which are very dificult to find in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Iran was a civilized country before 1979 during the secular and Francophile Pahlavi era, and it lasted about fifty years. If there were no civilized and secular Iranians back then, that secular Pahlavi regime would not have been able to last a month. When the mullahs converted Iran to an anti-Western and Islamist dictatorship, many Iranians looked forward to a secular regime.
I read many things about the Pahlavi Era, and in my opinion Pahlavi Iran was even more moderate and civilized than secular Turkey. So, again, I think Pahlavi Iran was the most moderate and civilized Muslim nation in the 20th century.
gravenimage says
Rafael, Iran was certainly more civilized under the Shah–of course, this is a matter of degree–it was still an authoritarian regime.
Certainly, many Iranians demonstrated against the Shah. Now, some of these were genuine lovers of democracy who opposed his authoritarianism, but many more were supporters of the Mullahs and Shari’ah law.
With the possible exception of 2009, there have been no such demonstrations against tne Mullahs, and they were not nearly so widespread. Of course, this may be in part because they are far more brutal in crushing freedom of speech than the Shah was.
Still, I think, sadly, that any Western nation trying to overthrow the Ayatollah would be walking into a quagmire.
As for Turkey and Iran, they were freest when they had leaders–Attaturk, the Shah–who marginalized Islam as much as possible. No Muslim country was ever moderate *because* of Islam, as you well know.
I genuinely hope that the Iranians are able to free themselves–but I don’t want to see Americans or other Westerners dying to try and bring this about.
Clifford Fodor says
One stupid question that was asked a while ago: Does Israel have the right to defend itself?
Namer says
If Iran could take out Israel they would have already.

Likely, Namer–but that could change if the Mullahs get nukes.
