Eric Zemmour is the French writer, journalist, and television personality who is now a candidate for the presidency. He is the one figure in public life who has told the dismaying truth about what the large, and ever-increasing, Muslim presence in the country means for the civilization and the people of France. As a consequence, he is constantly maligned as “far right,” an “Islamophobe” and a “racist,” though he is none of those things.
Guy Millière has written a piece here about Zemmour the candidate, comparing his forthrightness to the evasions of President Macron. “Éric Zemmour: France’s Last Chance for Survival?,” by Guy Millière, Gatestone Institute,
When French President Emmanuel Macron speaks, it is only about the pandemic. Political analysts think that if he manages to avoid all other topics, his reelection will be a certainty. If he does not, everything could turn out any which way.”
“No, the great replacement is not a fantasy”. — Éric Zemmour, candidate in France’s upcoming presidential election, YouTube, December 15, 2021.
“Four hundred thousand Muslim immigrants enter France each year. In five years, that makes two million more Muslims. These Muslims go to live in the Muslim areas and do not integrate… What do you think that means?” — Éric Zemmour, YouTube, December 15, 2021.
“We see violence in our cities and towns…. We see hatred of France and its history becoming the norm… You abandon, without reacting, entire districts of our country to the law of the strongest… if a civil war breaks out, the army will maintain order on its own soil…. No one can want such a terrible situation… but yes, once again, civil war is brewing in France and you know it perfectly well”. — Open letter in Valeurs Actuelles, signed by thousands of professional soldiers who asked that their names not be made public, May 9, 2021.
Paris, December 18, 2021. The Algerian national soccer team wins the Arab Cup in Qatar. Tens of thousands of Algerian supporters, waving Algerian flags, rush onto the Champs-Élysées in Paris. Shop windows are smashed. The unrest lasts until nightfall. Slogans are shouted: “Long live Algeria”, “By Allah, the Koran!” — and also “Fu*k France!” and “Fu*k Zemmour!” The police are ordered not to intervene. They are attacked anyway.
An Algerian soccer team wins the Arab Cup in Qatar, and in response, Muslims thousands of miles away run amok in the very heart of Paris, taking over its most famous street, smashing store windows and overturning café tables, threatening passersby. They displayed, yet again — there have been many such instances — a triumphalist Muslim frenzy, of invoking the Qur’an and cursing the French and France, the country that they now inhabit and are determined to possess. Imagine how unsettling, and frightening, that spectacle must have been to any non-Muslims in the area.
The next day, Jean Messiha, a former member of the National Rally Party, notes on television: “The great replacement and the ethnic hatred, we can see them.”
Éric Zemmour, a Jewish candidate for the French presidency, does not comment. He simply states in an interview: “sadly banal scenes”.
Zemmour sees this Muslim mob, so quick to express its hatred for the French who have, after all, allowed them to settle in their country, as no longer requiring a special comment. Such scenes, he says, are “banal” in the sense of commonplace, no longer surprising, par for the course. It’s what one can now expect, anywhere in France, and at any time, and prompted by any excuse: a soccer victory thousands of miles away, the bombing of a building in Gaza, a clash between Moroccan and Algerian troops, the expulsion of an “extremist” imam from a mosque in Bordeaux.
Ten days earlier, December 8, in Nanterre, a few miles east of Paris, a Catholic procession organized to celebrate the Feast of the Immaculate Conception was assaulted by young Muslims, who shouted insults and threats. The Catholics were called kuffar (“infidels”). “Wallah [I swear] on the Koran, we will cut your throat”, a young man shouted to a priest, then spat on him. “This is the land of Allah”, others shouted; “go away.”…
The contempt expressed for the “kuffar” who, the Qur’an tells Muslims, are “the most vile of created beings,”(98:6), the insults and threats, the sheer murderousness –“[I swear] on the Qur’an, I will cut your throat”—directed at a priest, the triumphalist claim that France now belongs to them, the Muslims (“This is the land of Allah”), in the attempt to disrupt and shut down a Catholic procession – this is what Eric Zemmour is talking about when he sounds the alarm about the Muslim “invasion” of France that needs to be halted and reversed.
The Republic has lost control of important parts of its territory to the Muslims. There are now at least 750 no-go zones in France, where non-Muslims no longer live nor dare to enter, and the writ of the state does not run. The police themselves go into such areas only in groups, armed to the teeth and outfitted in quasi-military fashion. Fire trucks and ambulances, as representatives of authority, may be greeted with a hail of rocks or even Molotov cocktails when they try to enter these No-Go areas. Zemmour thinks such no-go zones will have to be re-conquered by force, with French soldiers retaking their own country, one no-go area after another. He has deliberately called his new party “La Reconquête,” after the “Reconquista” of Spain, taken back from its Islamic rulers, emirate by emirate, by Christians. And it may be necessary for French soldiers to be permanently garrisoned on the perimeter of these areas, to keep Muslims from running amok.
For at least four decades, successive French governments have avoided talking about the situation or have said that the problem was poverty, which could be solved by welfare payments or sending in psychologists and sociologists. However, the situation has only gotten worse. Those in charge avoid talking about Islam or say that Islam “has its place” in France and is now a “French religion.”
Islam is the religion of millions of people now living in France, but even if they have a French passport, they are not French. They do not think of themselves as French. They do not call themselves French but, rather, Muslims of France. They do not thrill at “La Marseillaise.” They are uninterested in the history of France: in the kings of France, in the Crusades, in the Enlightenment, in the Revolution, in the Declaration of the Rights of Man, in the Empire, in France during the Nazi occupation, in the Resistance, in the principle of laicité. They are instructed to believe that as Muslims they are the “best of peoples,” while the French, like all Infidels, are “the most vile of created beings.” They have no interest in integrating into the larger society of such people. Qur’an 5:51 tells them not to take “Jews or Christians as friends, for they are friends only with each other.” They do have an interest in taking full advantage of all the benefits that the generous French welfare state has on offer: greatly subsidized or even free housing, free medical care, free education, family allowances that increase with each additional child (and Muslims have very big families), and more. They are past masters at milking the welfare systems of Western Europe. Many are among the permanently unemployed, but between all the welfare benefits for their families, and the supplementary income to be derived from street muggings, house burglaries, and drug-dealing, many Muslims find they can do as well, or better, than if they were employed..
French President Emmanuel Macron has said that he wants to do more than his predecessors and has promised to fight what he calls “Islamic separatism”. He says that all the troubles come from a small handful of Islamists, whom he defined as followers of “radical movements unrelated to Islam”, and who have been incited to live apart from other French people by dangerous troublemakers who are betraying the Muslim faith. Macron therefore continues to refuse to face anything “inconvenient”.
Macron does not dare to connect Muslim contempt and hatred for France and the French to the texts and teachings of Islam. The “separatism” he deplores is part of Islam. Muslims — let me repeat this — are instructed not to take Christians or Jews as friends, “for they are friends only with each other.”(5:51) And why would the “best of peoples” want to integrate into a society consisting of “the most vile of created beings”? Living separately from non-Muslims is not the desire of only a “small handful” of Muslims, but of the great majority. Macron repeats the usual nonsense about it being only a “handful” of people who belong to “radical movements unrelated to Islam” who are worrisome. Even though the Muslims themselves constantly quote the Qur’an as justification for their behavior, even though they try to model themselves on Muhammad, the Perfect Man (al-insan al-kamil) and Model of Conduct (uswa hasana) who said that “I have been made victorious through terror,” Macron persists, like Pope Francis, in denying this reality.
But it isn’t a “handful of Islamists” who have managed to create 750 no-go areas all over France; it’s not a “handful” who ran amok on the Champs-Elysees, smashing store windows, or who perform the same violent drama on other streets, in other cities, whenever an excuse arises; it’s not a “handful” of Muslims who torch thousands of cars each year to express their resentment and hatred of the French.
Macron “knows” that these “troublemakers” are “betraying” the Muslim faith. Has he been burning the midnight oil, studying Islam – or is he just guessing, and hoping, that these people are “betraying” the Muslim faith? Are they “betraying” Qur’an 2:191-193, 3:151, 4:89, 8:12, 8:60, 9:5, 9:29, 47:4 — the verses that tell them to “fight” and to “kill” and to “smite at the necks of” and to “strike terror in the hearts of” Infidels?
Hundreds of millions of Muslims, who are only following the Qur’an, beg to differ with President Macron. Macron is afraid to recognize the truth about Islam, because If he were to do so, he has no idea what would then be required of him to deal with the problem, the threat, the menace. Zemmour, by contrast, knows that a series of measures, many of them alien to a tolerant advanced Western polity, will have to be taken, and is forthright in discussing them. The first, and most important, is to halt all Muslim immigration, period. No exceptions for “family reunification.” If Muslim families want to be reunified, let them do it in their Muslim countries of origin. Second, prompt expulsion to their home countries (or the countries with which they identify) of Muslim criminals once they have served their sentences. Third, Zemmour would severely limit the benefits economic migrants – who now are mostly Muslims – could receive. No one should be allowed to qualify for benefits as soon as they enter France. Instead, only after those immigrants have been gainfully employed for five years (to use one figure that has been bandied about) would they then be permitted to apply for benefits from the state. Those recent immigrants who are now living in France and receiving government aid should have those benefits taken away; they should be made to work for five years before again being eligible to apply for them. Employment can be provided by the state if need be, with such public work jobs as construction, maintenance of roads and bridges, building of solar farms. Another possibility is for the French state to put a cap on the total number of years economic migrants can receive welfare benefits. Once that limit has been reached, quite a few maghrebins, instead of going to work, will prefer to take their savings and move back to their home countries, where those savings in euros will go a long way.
The French government could also make a one-time payment to Muslims willing to move back to their countries of origin, on the understanding that they will not try to return to France. Such payments would be far cheaper than maintaining these people in France. Their true cost to the state is enormous: it includes not only all those benefits so many of these migrants now receive for free (housing, education, medical care, family allowances), but also the losses stemming from the property they vandalize (storefronts smashed, cars torched) or steal (street robberies, house burglaries), or the human cost to the French of those “businesses” favored by young Muslim men — drug-dealing and prostitution. And on top of all that, there is the cost to the state of dealing with so many Muslim criminals — Muslims constitute 80% of those now in French prisons. These costs include hiring more gendarmes, more detectives, more prosecutors, more court-provided lawyers, more judges, more prison guards, and even more prisons. Billions are now being spent on, or because of, these migrants; bribing them to leave France would be a bargain.
Kesselman says
Eric Zemmour may be France’s last hope—or at least like-minded conservative politicians. France is indeed the first country where unrest (already) and a civil war will roam. And the civil war in one European country will certainly have a spill-over effect on other countries e.g. Sweden.
Yogi says
France is lost , next will be Germany as are planned , and follow , England, Belgium, Holland, Sweden, till whole Western Europe is Islamic, it’s just heartbreaking to watch what is happening..

sadly you’re correct
JimJFox says
No, he is not! This defeatist talk is exactly what Islam wants we must stop it immediately. I’m disgusted to hear such spineless cowardly comments. There will come a time and a point at which the Armed Forces will be required to reconquer those no go areas & Zemmour’s policies to be implemented in full. History WILL be repeated as in Spain.
gravenimage says
Agreed, Jim. To be preaching defeat on an article about a genuinely anti-Jihadist candidate in France is particularly perverse. Don’t give up!
mortimer says
In 2021, ANTI-SEMITIC incidents increased 75% in France. I hope Zemmour can make voters aware of it.
The only cure for Islamic anti-Semitism in France is to convince Muslims that Islam is intellectually untenable and odds with French democratic ideals.
JimJFox says
And you really think this can happen, Mortimer? Ridiculous, Mohammedans despise all civilised ideals & have done since Islam was founded. I’m shocked that you would write such naive nonsense.
Don McKellar says
mortimer has put up posts like this for a long, long time. How he could be on Jihad Watch so long, have learned so much about Islam, and seen a thousand examples of why this naive nonsense approach is impossible, is completely beyond explanation. I wouldn’t waste my time on him if I were you.
Fitna says
Hi Don, I’ve suspected that Mortimer is an ex-Muslim given his depth of knowledge of Islam. Though some here have claimed he is not, then the only other explanation is that he’s a non-Muslim pacifist who studied this ideology.
However I’ve seen other ex-Muslims (Atheists) complain about Islam but they also think the “only solution” is to convince Muslims to leave.
If anyone suggests any tougher measures to deal with Muslims, these ex-Muslim types freak out and call you an extremist “who doesn’t belong here” as if they hold the mainstream opinion in the anti-Islam mvmt, which ofc they don’t. Despite logically knowing Islam is a danger, they’re brainwashed to be loyal to Muslims.
I usually just ignore his posts, though occasionally he makes some useful comments. As far as I’m concerned, all options are on the table when it comes to defeating Islam including warfare and I believe it will boil down to either Muslims being expelled or in 20-40 yrs the West will be at war with Islam.
All the trouble Muslims are causing already, when they’re less than 10% of the population, can’t go on forever, unless western populations have truly surrendered, which I don’t believe they have.
raja says
Mortimer,
islam being vile as it is, where is the need to convince Muslims that islam is incompatible with France or any other Western state for that matter, especially when islam and Sharia are pre-eminent to a Muslim and the rest don’t count at all ?. There is just no room for any alternate thought for a petty minded, mean, fascist and Muslim, allah being the greatest fascist.
gravenimage says
Mortimer, your idea that pious Muslims are disturbed by antisemitism is mistaken. And Islam rejects reason–the idea that it is concerned with intellectual consistency is simply not the case, I’m afraid.
Don McKellar says
80% muslim in French prisons.
750 “no-go” sharia zones in France
Exact quote after quote from their “holy” books explaining exactly why they cannot integrate, but only colonize.
How many are sucking up social assistance while they breed?
How many millions of euros are lost through destruction and criminal activity? How many French citizens suffer?
I don’t think it will matter even if this weird looking character gets elected, there’s still going to be a civil war. They’ll have to conduct a massive deportation program. There is no other way out of this. It’s going to be horrible.
JimJFox says
Spot on, Don. Real Muslims (as opposed to MINOs) respect only one thing – OVERWHELMING FORCE. So give it to them, in spades.
Don McKellar says
Sure, you have no alternative because they don’t give themselves any alternative. “Strong man wins” is written right in their religious texts and those are the words of Allah and cannot be changed and no laws of man or “dialog” can change that.
raja says
Jim,
Even the once-destroyer in chief Obama acknowledged that terrorists understand only one language- force. It is an overwhelmingly true statement.
gravenimage says
Don, that 80% figure is too high. But about half of inmates in France are Muslim–considering they only make up about 8% of the population this number is shocking (or it is if you don’t know what Islam teaches). And this is only apt to get worse as the Muslim popultion increases there.

It looks like Muslims cannot live in any place that is not controlled by Muslims. Their religion which reaches every day life is a violent religion, strike the necks of non believers. Slaves and whipping women as property. These problems will come here if not stopped, their are no go zones here and they will grow because of our leftist government.
gravenimage says
Pious Muslims want to impose these horrors on all of us.
Rbla says
Let me get this straight. While this Muslim conquest is rapidly proceeding in France, NATO is supposed to go to war with Russia to protect the borders of Ukraine?
gravenimage says
Putin is likely taking advantage of a weak president in the White House. Really, thugs of any stripe threatening their neighbors is not a good thing.
Rbla says
After the fall of the Soviet Union Russia should have become our ally. Instead we began a policy of pushing NATO right up against its borders ignoring its justified historical paranoia. And all this even before the ‘evil’ Putin came to power.
Then there was Clinton’s criminal war against Russia’s civilizational little brother Serbia; in favor of Muslims in fact. One more factor which motivated Russia to become the major nuisance it now is. Again before Putin came to power. We did what Kissinger warned against: driving Russia and China together.
Then there was the building up of China at the expense of our own manufacturing and of our working class. Well we certainly see how well that worked out with the recent rapid spread of Covid courtesy of our friend China. And if the warmongers get their way and we go to war with Russia to protect the borders of Ukraine (while ignoring our own border) we will have to count on China for medical supplies, pharmaceuticals and strategic materials.
BTW has it ever occurred to all of the onetime peace marchers now turned against post-Soviet Russia and to all of the nostalgic old cold warriors that by leaving our southern borders undefended we are giving the ‘evil’ Putin a major opening for mischief. Why are our loudmouth hawks like Sen. Ernst not also screaming about that? Could it be all of the money from the cheap labor lobby?
raja says
With over 750 no-go zones in France alone, Europe is dying a slow death, France being such a big influence in Europe and EU. This impending victory, as perceived by vast majority of Muslims is driving them to do even more harm to infidels and the host infidel-nation.
Macron is a liar. France deserves a good leader, not a manager of contradictions. Islam must be eradicated from the face of the earth. Waiting for Zemmour to tackle the evil of islam with an iron-hand.
raja says
If all the evils perpetrated in the name of islam is unrelated to islam why doesn’t Macron encourage fellow French to embrace islam and take a jump in the Atlantic?
Macron, after all the islam-inflicted blows to his nation is still in denial mode, shows why he is such a misfit to run France.
Kesselman says
There’s a lot of inconsistency going on here. On the one hand, the globalist elitists narrow in on Russia as an enemy entity despite it’s not the Soviet Union nor communist any longer. Quite the contrary Orthodox Christianity has a profound resurrection since Russia is no more totalitarian. On the other hand, a vile totalitarian ideology threatens the West which only causes hand-wringing and proposals of dialog coffee. Hypocrisy and what’s worse mark the socialist leaned Western elite.
gravenimage says
Russia threatening Poland and Ukraine is still a bad thing–including sending Muslims to the Polish border, which Anti-Jihadists *should* care about. The Soviet Union does not exist any more, but if Putin could he would still seize all former Iron Curtain countries.
tim gallagher says
I would like to believe that the people of France and many other western countries are going to rise up and kick the Muslims out and demand that no Muslims be allowed into the country, but I think that the populations of many western countries have become too soft and too slack to win this war against the vicious, barbaric Muslim invaders. I hope I am wrong, but I can’t see much of a waking up and toughening up among most of the population in most western countries. In our western countries, we live a mellow and pleasant life, which is a good way to live, but it isn’t the way to deal with invading, violent Muslims. i don’t see enough of the populations waking up. In Australia, where I live, nowhere near enough people have woken up to islam’s nature yet. I imagine it would be the same in France, Germany, etc.
gravenimage says
I still hope this changes, Tim. Having brave people like Zemmour–and Le Pen–speak out against Islamic aggression is a good first step.
tim gallagher says
So do i, gravenimage. The Hungarians, Poles and Czechs and Slovakians have it right as far as I am concerned. I have noticed for years now that the Le Pens and now Zemmour and Wilders seem to win large numbers of votes. In Australia, an anti-Islam politician would probably only get, maybe, a maximum of 8 to 10% of the vote. I don’t know if this is same in the USA. I guess that France, with over 8% Muslims, has gone further down the road to ruin, so more people have woken up and are alarmed and thus vote for politicians like Le Pen. In Australia, with around 2% Muslims, people haven’t woken up. There are lots of sleepwalkers out here on the issue of islam, that’s for sure.
gravenimage says
Agreed, Tim. I *hope* the French ar waking up now–and I hope it doesn’t take a four-fold or worse increase in the Muslim population in the US and Australia to have more people finally wake up here.
tim gallagher says
Yes, here’s hoping, gravenimage. I keep thinking that people out here in Australia are going to wake up too late. I hope I’m wrong. France, with its 8% Muslims, sounds like a disaster from reports I read here at Jihad Watch.

Eric Zemmour and The Future of France (Part 1)
………………..
I really hope this from Zemmour represents real hope for France.
Christopher Watson says
French politics is a different animal than most Britain, America or Australia. There are 6 or 7 contenders. Zemmour, a so-called right-winger, is opposed by 2 other so-called right-wingers. There is the battle-hardened Marine Le Pen and her neice, Marion Marechal. Zemmour, who is to the right of all them, has 17% of the vote and Le Pen has 15%. Combined they could beat Macron but by splitting the vote they are terminally weakened. What’s worse is that Marechal has suggested Zemmour would make a better President. Obviously you can’t even trust your own family!
As a percentage of the population there are far more muslims in France than any other non-muslim country in Europe. There have also been more deaths in France due to muslim terrorism. But as in most other european countries the vast majority have covered their ears and try to ignore the obvious truth.
