Many people of power and influence in Turkey agree with Halil Konakçı.
“Imam Sezen targeted Aksu and demanded the caliphate…,” translated from “İmam Sezen Aksu’yu hedef aldı, hilafet istedi…,” Arti 49, January 17, 2022:
The Imam of Ankara Melike Hatun Mosque, Halil Konakçı, called for the caliphate, saying, “We want that office back, friend. We want it in the name of Islam.”
Ankara Melike Hatun Mosque Imam Halil Konakçı called for the caliphate in a sermon he gave in a mosque in Bursa.
Konakçı, in his speech targeting Aksu over the words “Greetings to that ignorant Eve and Adam” in Sezen Aksu’s song “Living a Wonderful Thing,” pointed to the caliphate abolished by the decision of the Parliament 98 years ago and said, “We want that office back. friend. We want it in the name of Islam,” he said.
Konakçı’s speech is as follows:
“Tell me, where is the center of Islam? Who is the authority and authority of Islam? Do you understand why they abolished that office 100 years ago? They removed this office so that a singer piece could call Adem Aleyhisselam ‘ignorant.’
If that rank were strong today, even a person could not have a say in the sight of Allah, even if he was an imam. May Allah bring us that authority back. We will work for it. Oh, if Islam were strong, oh, if this religion had a head and an owner… They left this religion unclaimed, they started running around according to their own minds.
What would Hz. No one could speak to Mary, Adam, Eve, the Messenger of Allah, nor the Sharia, nor the Qur’an, nor the headscarf, the chador, the turban, nor the minaret. We want that office back, friend. We want it in the name of Islam.”

Where is any reason to be surprised? This is standard, orthodox, traditional islam being taught, as it has been taught and practiced for 1400 years, killing between 250 and 1000 million people and enslaving many times more, including its own participants.
The continuing denial of islam being a religion, cult, or other label, refuses to face the fact it can be many things, subject to many labels, while also being at the same time a criminal conspiracy to make war, conquer, kill, enslave, loot and destroy the world. As long as islam exists it will teach and seek to carry out its “final, perfect, complete and unchangeable” goals.
Pretending that those who submit can be talked into reform, moderation or apostasy with well-chosen words is lunacy, deserving the muslim prescribed death penalty for those stupid enough to believe their negotiating skills will beat 1400 years of brainwashing. At some point it must be accepted that islam continues exactly as it was 1400 years ago, a menace to all who wish to live in freedom, liberty and self-responsibility.

Agree. There is no surprise, if you are conversant in what Islam teaches. If you are not conversant regarding Islamic teachings, you will not even understand this mullah.
Ordinary, uninformed people will not fathom the true purport of this mullah’s words. Namely, he wants TURKEY to retake charge of the Islamic world and he wants the Muslim world ruled from Constantinople and under the control of Turks. The average Turks will smirk and think that this is good idea, but its elaboration requires Turks to repeat their discriminatory and insensitive performances of the past. Other Muslim countries will not go for it. This man is dreaming in Technicolor.
He and about 60% of Muslims want the universal caliphate. That is the surprising thing. About 35% of those who call themselves Muslims are non-practicing, if not all-out apostates. They couldn’t care less about the caliphate. They want democracy.
When it comes down to it, most Muslims are somewhat uninformed about the core teachings of Islam and they are not aware of the horrific repercussions that ensue from those teachings when they are fully implemented … what they get is the TALIBAN and ISIS … and most Muslims will pretend they don’t want that. Muslims spend most of their lives denying the reality of what would happen if they fully implemented Islam.

“Jihad is an obligation from Allah and [sic] every Muslim and cannot be ignored nor evaded.” “Jihad means the fighting of the unbelievers and involves all possible efforts that are necessary to dismantle the power of the enemies of Islam, including beating them, plundering their wealth, destroying their places of worship, and smashing their idols,”
Hassan al-Banna,
founder of the Muslim Brotherhood
Congress determined that
“the Brotherhood constitutes a real threat for the national security interests of the United States.”

F.A. writes: Islam can be many things, subject to many labels.
Fr. Henri Boulad has described this superbly: “Islam is at once a religion, a state and a society—din wa dawla. … Here is an all-inclusive and all-encompassing project, one that is total, totalizing and totalitarian.
For Islam is a whole, at the same time a faith and a cult, an outlook and a moral system, a way of life and vision of the world.”

I have come to the conclusion that the success of Islam is that it is the most successful materialist ponzi scheme of the ages. The “Caliph” or “Amir” or “Imam” gets one-fifth of the booty from every raid on the kuffar. Raids are religiously obligatory until the world world submits. The “holy” warriors beneath the Imam get a cut of the remaining booty in riches, slaves or Joy or rape and murder during the conquests. Those unlucky enough to be killed supposed get houris in heaven. This is the Islamic “economic system” in a nutshell. It only fails when they run out of kuffar to conquer or when the kuffar become bold and well-equipped enough to fight back. But the immense wealth and power of the man at the top of this pyramid scheme also ensured that other envious and avaricious “holy men” would create sectarian and legalistic pretexts to subvert the current top man to take his place. Hence the 1,400 year spectacle of “brotherhood” and “love” of fellow Muslim displayed in constant intramural bloodletting almost as savage as that waged against the kuffar. But whoever longs for the return of the caliphate likely also lusts to become that caliph or at least his closest henchmen.

Westman says
There is no current world-recognized Caliphate because it was defeated in WWI, Islam is too weak to return to the conquests of the distant past, and Islam has been infighting since Muhammad died.
Sunni Islam: “The Imams (scholars of the four schools of thought)- may Allah have mercy on them- agree that the Caliphate is an obligation, and that the Muslims must appoint a leader who would implement the injunctions of the religion, and give the oppressed justice against the oppressors. It is forbidden for Muslims to have two leaders in the world whether in agreement or discord.”
Didn’t ISIS claim to be the New Caliphate? Based on experience, if any Muslim group or nation declares a new Caliphate, pop some popcorn, pull up a chair, and watch Muslims war with each other.

It is too late for this now, Sir. The great economist, Erdogan, is going to bury your economy by the end of this year.
gravenimage says
Yes–Turkey has lost a quarter of its GDP in just the past eight years. This is what Islam does to an economy…
Infidel says
Dear Imam
Who should lead that caliphate? You know how the sunnah is explicit that the ummah needs to be led by a Quraysh Arab, which I doubt that anybody in Turkey, least of all Erdogan, is. So who should lead this caliphate?
Somehow, I doubt that you’ll conquer Arab territories again. And Iran is unlikely to remain muslim once this regime collapses. Your cousins across the Caspian are lapsed muslims. Your only potential empire is the Indian subcontinent – Afghanistan, Pakistan, Bangladesh and muslims in India. Oh, and Malaysia as well
SKA says
Which begs the whole question of how the Turkic non-Arabic speaking tribe of the Ottomans acquired legitimate claim to the title. But I forgot – they bought or extorted it from the last Abbasid pretender in Cairo!
Infidel says
No, the Abbasid caliphate had been wiped out by Hulegu Khan in Baghdad, and after that, there was for a while a Fatimid caliphate based out of North Africa that was Ismailiya shi’a. That dynasty was ended by Saladin, and after a break, when the Ottoman sultans conquered Mecca and Medina, they declared themselves the caliph
Calling oneself caliph is worthless if one doesn’t have control over Mecca and Medina
SKA says
Thank you, Infidel!
PS I hate calling anyone that word, although some Iraq war vets have sported t-shirts proudly proclaiming themselves as “kafirs.”
Infidel says
One YouTube show that I watch has a Hindu journalist in India wearing a similar t-shirt calling himself a proud kafir – at least he did during the summer. He got requests for it, so has started selling it

Yes–I use “Infidel” tongue-in-cheek to describe civilized non-Muslims.

As to how the Turkish Muslims took over the lands of the Ottoman Empire–brute force, as always.
john smith says
I hate to say this, and nothing would make me happier if I was wrong. But I firmly believe it’s only a matter of time before the evil empire resurrected and the caliph is restored.
Infidel says
I don’t think that the last will happen, but I do think that there will be bloody civil wars in every country that has it – US, Canada, UK, France, Germany, Austria, Greece, India, Philippines, et al – b/w forces wanting to prevent islamization vs forces okay w/ it. My bets are off as to who will prevail
john smith says
I hope your right Infidel, but according to several experts on biblical prophecy the ottoman empire is going to be resurrected.
gravenimage says
The Ottoman Empire is not actually mentioned in the Bible–Islam post-dates the Bible.
SKA says
Walid Shoebat wrote an interpretation of biblical prophecy in which he tries to argue that the Ottoman Empire is one of a succession of powers referred to in Scripture. One of the “beasts” in Revelation appears to have a mortal head wound but then miraculously recovers. This he used to argue that the removal of the caliphate was the “wound in the head” and restoration of the caliphate would signal revival of that Islamic empire.
john smith says
True Gravenimage, the ottoman empire isn’t mentioned in the Bible, but that doesn’t mean that it isn’t part of Biblical prophecy.
Walid Shoebat (who you are well aware of) has this incredible gift of looking into prophecy. He reads into scripture through the eyes of someone that was brought up in the region, In fact he even said that Turkey would invade Syria years before they actually did.
For many many years now, Walid has been warning us that the anti-christ will come from Turkey, and SKA has pointed out exactly what he was referring to.
john smith says

Yes, this is exactly what I was on about, but I would use different words to you. I would say he made a thorough explanation, rather than”he tries to argue.”

Turkey: Imam decries abolition of caliphate, ‘We want that office back, friend, we want it in the name of Islam’

This is what every pious Muslim wants. This is what the Islamic State was trying to do, and there are clear signs that Erdogan agfrees.

mortimer, NONE of those “things” is any kind of recognizable or enforceable violation of any law. That is the reason we NEED to get past the smoke and see it for what it is above all else, a criminal conspiracy to kill, conquer, enslave, loot and oppress, which is a violation of law both national and international. The smokescreen of discussion of labels will get us killed. Is that what you want? I don’t think it is. So why continue vacillating in indecision and confusion when it serves our defeat and downfall?
