“You [Muslims] are the best of people that has been raised up for mankind. You command what is right and forbid what is wrong, and you believe in Allah.” (Qur’an 3:110)
“Indeed, the unbelievers among the people of the book and the idolaters will remain in the fire of Gehenna. They are the most vile of created beings.” (Qur’an 98:6)
“‘Necktie is a Christian symbol, try to get admission in Muslim schools’: Darul Uloom Deoband on school uniforms and more,” OpIndia, February 16, 2022:
Darul Uloom Deoband’s name has come up multiple times for all the wrong reasons. It has a lengthy history of evidently controversial Fatwas. The organization often posts answers to queries of its Muslim followers related to family, health, marital relationships and more. Amidst the ongoing hijab row that erupted in Karnataka, we tracked some bizarre questions and answers on school uniforms on the organization’s website.
‘Participating in Saraswati Puja is haram’
Someone asked if it was okay for Muslim students to participate in Saraswati Puja that happens in every school in West Bengal. The person alleged that all students are “forced” to donate money for worshipping idols.
To the question, the Darul website replied worshipping Hindu Gods and Goddesses is ‘shirk’ (In Islam, Shirk means developing association with Gods of other faith). It further added it is unlawful and ‘haram’ for Muslims to participate or donate for Saraswati Puja or any idol for that matter. It further instructed Muslims to “save their children from polytheistic practices in the school”, or the community should establish schools that are “free from such acts”.
‘Cover your face in front of non-mahrams.’
In a question, a person asked if the girls and women should cover their faces in front of non-mahrams. Covering faces in front of non-mahrams is popular among those who follow the Hanafi school of thought. The person said if the non-mahram follows another school of thought and thinks it is not essential to cover the face, can the Muslim women say it was not necessary for them either.
In Islam, a Mahram is a person whom one cannot marry, for example, a family member or person from another community. A non-Mahram is the person whom one can marry.
The Darul website said it is essential for Muslim women to cover their faces due to the “fear of mischief” written in the Quran and Hadith. Mentioning it is a belief system of Hanafis, the website added it is unlawful for Hanafis do not to cover faces in front of non-Mahrams. It further added, for a Hanafi, following other schools of Fiqhi is also haram or unlawful.
‘Necktie is Haram’
In another question, the person, a student of class 8, asked if the tie is haram or halal as it was compulsory in the school. The Darul website categorically called the practice of wearing a tie ‘haram’ for Muslim students. It said tie is an emblem of Christians; thus, Muslim students should not adopt it as it is unlawful and against the Islamic spirit.
It further urged Muslim students to take admission to a school where a tie is not compulsory. If they cannot get admission to such school, they should wear tie only during school hours.
‘Sung Christian prayers and prayed to Hindu idols? Ask Allah for forgiveness and do charity’
A person asked what he or she should do for the ‘sins’ of singing Christian prayers and praying to Hindu idols during childhood. The person said they indulged in such activities due to “ignorance”, but now they felt was Shirk.
The Darul website said as the person was seeking an apology from Allah regularly, Allah may forgive him. It also urged the person to keep seeking forgiveness and do charity to wash away his “sins”….

Muslims only wear suits and ties when they want to dodge questions about that so as not to spook the Islamophiles. But could they not deflect such with haughty admonitions about “Islamophobia” as their women do when questioned about the hijab? Ah, but “it’s my culture to preserve my modesty” or some such pablum is easier to sell than the baldfaced admission that the tie is considered a “Christian emblem” and therefore haram as attire.

Yes, Brooks Brothers jihadis.

So true, revereridesagain and James. I think of Mahmoud Abbas as the qunitessential Brooks Brothers jihadis–but there are many others.

Q. What do you call a Muslim in a suit?
A. The accused.
With apologies to Bernard Manning and Scousers.

The mullahs at Darul Uloom Deoband school are muddled. But so are most mullahs, since they simply make up anything that is convenient as a ‘temporary’ measure to achieve some temporary goal.
This form of TAQIYYA is used to lie to fellow Muslims in order to manipulate them.
Maslaha (Arabic for ‘public interest’) is a concept in traditional Islamic Law that relaxes Sharia law via a temporary dispensation granted by the mullahs. It is invoked to prohibit or permit something on the basis of whether or not it serves the public’s benefit or welfare. The concept is related to that of Istislah. While the meaning of maslaha is ‘public interest’, the meaning of istislah is ‘to seek the best public interest’ … the public interest in their view is that of Sharia supremacism and Muslim supremacism.
Sometimes MASLAHA is used by Islamic apologists to make Islam more popular with naïve Westerners and as part of taqiyya. Such Islamic apologists do not tell the kafirs that the relaxed rules are considered a temporary measure and thus lead them up the garden path to a whitewashed fantasy Islam.
A year or two in the future, the same mullahs Darul Uloom Deoband school might conceivably order Muslims to wear a necktie as part of jihadic strategy.
PMK says
He’s right on on issue. If Muslims don’t want to obey the norms (such as wearing a tie), then the community should establish schools that are “free from such acts”.. They could memorize the koran to their hearts’ content. They could cover their faces, etc.
Infidel says
I’m assuming that the person asking the question is the adult, and not the child. In which case, it’s on him for not sending his kid to a madrassa. In reality, the reason that muslims in India don’t send their kids to madrassas is that they know that they are places where their kids would be abused, severely beaten and so on. But they then send their kids to either secular or Christian schools (Hindu schools don’t exist in India – that’s one of the sore points Hindus have against all Indian governments, including this one)
If they had any talent, those muslims would have at least created secular schools where their kids wouldn’t risk being abused, the way they are in madrassas, w/o their kids committing the sin of ‘shirk’

Do not the members of the terror-connected mozlum org c.a.i. rats wear ties? Do not the mozlums in different positions in government wear ties?
Why would a Christian wish to attend a mozlum school? No Christian who has a grasp of the Truth of things would wish to do so.
Christians…stay far away from anything islam…all, every large and small bit of islam…avoid.
And if the tie has any connection to Christianity….I never heard such a thing, before. i I read that it came from the likes of Beau Brummel…a leader in English fashion in the early 19th century.
Whatever, mozlums are always making trouble of one sort or another.

as another such source, brought to us by a Band of believers devoted to Deo (“Deo” is the dative form of the Latin word “Deus” and means “[devoted] to Allah”).
gravenimage says
Mark, the “deo” in “Deobandi” does not come from the Latin “Deus”–they are so called because the sect originated in the town of Deoband, India. Muslims do not use Latin.
You are right that Islam Q & A–the most widely read Islamic site in English–has some very disturbing but often unintentionally amusing stuff.

Thank you Gravenimage,
That is a good piece of information for me, I also believed in the contrary.
The word Deo is used in many Indian languages other than Islamic. It is difficult to conclude about the originality of the term.

says of the necktie, “Tie is an emblem of Christians” but cites chapter-and-verse in neither the Quran nor the bible.
That’s not the kind of Quran-thumpin’ preachin’ that I find inspiring.

The only reason people have to wear any clothes at all is due to the poor decisions of the first Muslim couple, Adam and Eve, after which “their private parts became apparent to them” (Q 7:20 – 22). Therefore Islam is responsible for garment sweat shop human exploitation and outlet malls.
WPM says
Moslems offended by having to wear neck ties?
From the people who if they follow all their idiotic rules wipe their asses with pebbles instead of toilet paper and dunk flies into their drinks?
From a people who worship a black stone and kiss it with passion !
Infidel says
The picture of Imran Khan in a tie is funny, but the seminary that issued this fatwa is an Indian, rather than a Paki one, as noted in the headline. Nobody from the Taliban, who follows this school, wears a tie or any western suit: they’re dressed very similar to how Mahmoud of Ghazni might have dressed
Wellington says
Neckties are haram?
Conclusion: there is no idiocy or foolishness that Islam unleashed cannot descend to.
If only it was humorous but the damn problem when you’re dealing with Islam is it often results in deadliness, so monstrously stupid is the Islamic faith.
I despise Islam. And if it is the true faith (which I personally would bet my own life on it is not), then God is a jerk and we live in a very creepy universe. Consider this assessment, Muslims. Yeah, even if your religion is the true faith, it still sucks and it’s time for the non-Islamic portion of the world to emulate an unrepentant Prometheus.
You see, Muslims, are you finally getting it?. Whether your faith is the true faith or not (all my money, even my life, on the latter), your faith still sucks. Deal with it.
abu taleb says
Muslims should 100% emulate what their prophet did in seventh century. They should wear traditional Arabic dress without underwear so they can pee in a squat position easily, no need a tie or other infidel garment.
But muslims are hypocrites, they alaways “do what I tell you, no what I do” (reminds me to …)

………………..
Islam is so stupid.
Vladimir says
Neckties are not a Christian symbol, quite the contrary it used to be considered as the sign of Judas Iscariot, a noose around one’s neck selling out for money.

Let’s see do muslims ware any type of clothing that proclaims they are islamic? They sure want their women too.
I never knew that waring a TIE proclaimed that I was a Christian. So now thanks to islam I will start waring my tie selection more often. I always thought waring a tie was just required business dress.
ain’t islam great.
