Edward Wright has been charged with assault for allegedly shoving and hitting a prayer leader, although interestingly enough, that isn’t captured on the available video. If he really did assault anyone, he should be prosecuted. At the same time, the alleged assault should not obscure the fact that Edward Wright is obviously not a MAGA-hat-wearing “right wing” “Islamophobe.” We have predicted for years that the assertion of supremacism involved in the broadcast of the call to prayer would lead to anger from non-Muslims, as it has in other countries. But as Hamas-linked CAIR makes clear here, any such anger is dismissed as “bigotry,” and that’s that.
The adhan, prayed in Arabic, goes like this:
Allah is greater (Allahu akbar); intoned four times.
I testify that there is no God but Allah (Ashhadu anna la ila ill Allah); intoned twice.
I testify that Mohammed is Allah’s Prophet (Ashhadu anna Muhammadan rasul Allah); intoned twice.
Come to prayer (Hayya alas salah); intoned twice.
Come to security/salvation (Hayya alal falah); intoned twice.
Allah is greater (Allahu akbar); intoned twice.
There is no God but Allah (La ilah ill Allah); intoned once.
Dr. Gavin Ashenden, former chaplain to the British queen, who resigned his position in protest against a Qur’an reading in a Scottish church, observed that “the Muslim call to prayer is a dramatic piece of Islamic triumphalism. It proclaims Islam’s superiority over all other religions, and in so doing casts Jesus in the role of a charlatan and a liar. The Muslim god, Allah, is unknowable and has no son. Jesus was, therefore, a fraud in claiming He and the Father are one.”
Is Paterson really wise to broadcast repeatedly a declaration of the superiority of Islam, a faith that directs its adherents to make war against Christians and other non-Muslims and subjugate them as inferiors under the hegemony of believers (cf. Qur’an 9:29)?
Is Paterson wise to broadcast the cry “Allahu akbar,” beloved of jihad terrorists the world over? Chief 9/11 hijacker Mohammed Atta wrote this in his letter to himself before carrying out his jihad mission: “When the confrontation begins, strike like champions who do not want to go back to this world. Shout, ‘Allahu Akbar,’ because this strikes fear in the hearts of the non-believers.” This is why the Fort Hood jihad killer, Nidal Malik Hasan, shouted it as he shot thirteen Americans in November 2009, and why so many other jihadis have used it essentially as an announcement that non-Muslims are about to die.
But in America today, any such concerns will be dismissed out of hand as “Islamophobic.”
“‘Everybody’s Not Muslim Here’: NJ Mosque Daily Prayer Calls Anger Paterson Man, by Erin Vogt, New Jersey 101.5, March 2, 2022:
PATERSON — A city resident seen on video cursing about the public call to prayer at a local mosque is facing charges for an incident being investigated as a possible bias crime.
Edward Wright, 57, was arrested Feb. 22, stemming from the encounter at the Islamic Congregation of North Jersey two months earlier, according to the Passaic County Sheriff’s Office as first reported by NorthJersey.com.
Video posted to YouTube by the New Jersey chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, shows surveillance footage of the man entering the mosque on Preakness Avenue in Paterson on Dec. 23. The full video includes repeated profanities.
The video footage switches to a different camera, which shows him walking across a carpeted room and then eventually walking back, followed by someone from the mosque who is also recording him on a cell phone.
Not seen in the video, witnesses said to police that Wright shoved and hit a prayer leader while yelling in a threatening manner.
Wright is accused of pushing the man from the back, slapping a microphone from his hand and hitting his shoulder.
“Everybody’s not Muslim here,” the man yells on the video footage taken on a phone, with profanities laced in between. “I don’t want to hear that **** every day.”
“Go somewhere, in their community,” he also says as he walks out of the mosque’s front door, pushing the door closed.
The man taking the video then says he’ll call his boss, to which the man says, “Call him and I’ll talk to him.”
Wright has been charged with simple assault and bias intimidation and was released, pending a court hearing….

Well, we can hope that the full Truth comes out. When it comes to mozlums, one cannot trust their words to be Truth. Esp is this so when the notorious c.a.i.rats org is involved.
Poor guy. I have heard the loud screeching and it is unpleasant to hear even once. No one should have to hear it if they don’t wish to and esp, not day after day, and when they are attempting to sleep.
Nancy Cummings says
Muslims may like the sound but for non Muslim its torture. They should not be allowed to do it.. What is wrong with the government to allow this..
bill says
The Muezzins and minarets arose in a time when there were no clocks and watches and people measured time mainly the sun rising and setting, So the five times a day prayer had to be announced so that Muslims could follow their religious requirement. Today there are multiple and free accesses to time telling everywhere, from public clocks to watches and smart phones, on the latter one can set alarms. The call to prayer in non Muslim countries is just a show of strength for Islam.
abu taleb says
Any boy who support the sound from the mosques should try to be in front of a mosque at the dawn when the mosque is calling for prayer. It is so loud so that it really pushes me to the edge. And you will also hear the sound from other mosques.
And also, during the month of Ramadhon, you can hear the sound all night long from every direction.
Robert Frankling says
1936 FIRST LOUDSPEAKER IN A MOSQUE
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loudspeakers_in_mosques
Muslims didn’t need loudspeakers for 1200 years, and since smart telephone prayer apps were invented, Muslims need loudspeakers even less today.
Muslims always know when their prayer app alerts them.
gravenimage says
Yes–the call to prayer is not just about alerting Muslims for prayer time. Most Muslims don’t live within earshot, in any case. This is more about proclaiming the supremacy of Islam.
Kenneth J Johnson says
Paterson needs some new city councilmen. This man is perfectly justified in his anger and I believe that if he be charged with something it is a travesty of jusltice. Any way we need to stop catering to Islam. Allowing the muslem “call to Prayer”
to be broadcast is one more step towads Sheria. They must be stopped. KEN

The revised ordinance also said the call to prayer already was exempt from the noise control regulations under state law.

Soon all non-Muslims will move away from that most irritating noise. They are creating a new NO-GO SHARIA ZONE in which Muslim terrorists will be eager to hide.
James Lincoln says
When I was stationed in Bahrain, I heard the muslim call for prayer five times per day.
A horrific sound, I thought that I was living in the Twilight Zone…
mortimer says
And for 1200 years before the first mosque loudspeaker was installed in 1939, no loudspeaker was used.
Infidel says
The call to prayer needs to be outlawed the way it is now. They can make a phone app, and that can remind muslims all 5 times of the day of their prayers, or introduce a ringtone of this muezzin in the clock app, and let muslims set up the daily 5 reminders. Override the anti-‘bida’ strictures that islam has: they don’t get to disrupt the civic peace by blaring that message 5 times a day.
PRCS says
They do in Paterson, unfortunately.
And their newest police chief is a Muslim.

Scary stuff.
Check Burry says
Unlike the rest of us who work, and dont have time to do this junk 5 times a day,

Does Edward Wright have a ‘go fund me’ page? They’d probably confiscate the money like they did to the Canadian truckers.

Supremacist and selfish Islam does not care about anything but itself.
Islam is solipsism surely and antithetical to a true Golden Rule for all, even to basic courtesy levels.
Islam fails on all fronts. Always has. Always will. And why no one of sense and knowledge should have any respect for this putrid religion. Oh yeah, almost forgot, eff Allah, eff the Koran and eff Mo.
James Lincoln says
Wellington says,
“Islam is solipsism”
I had never heard it defined that way, but it does fit.

‘Everybody’s not Muslim here’: New Jersey man complains about call to prayer broadcast over loudspeakers
………………..
Sickening–I hadn’t realized this was alredy happening in the United States (I know it is rife in Europe).
And odd if this is an assault there is no record of it, And note that the Imam following him does not seem agitated–and *certainly* not frightened of him.
John Allan says
If they really need to broadcast their prayer meetings, they should go back to Muslimland!
Otherwise, keep it in-house, so-to-speak!
Reziac says
Surely we have some good Catholics who would like to hear the bells ring the offices at an appropriate hour and volume sufficient to drown out the heathen clangor….

Good idea!

The REAL translation of the muslim call to terror is sung to the tune of the old “Oscar Meyer Bologna” jingle.
Our moon-god has a first name,
it’s a-l-l-a-h.
Our moon-god has no second name,
it’s A-L-L-A-H……
Oh we kill kafir most every day,
and if you ask to whom we prayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy………
To kill kafir is A-O-K,
says a-l-l-a-h,
oy vey.
OLD GUY says
When I was a child they used to have load speaker trucks and cars running thru neighborhoods advertising sales and politicians, then we outlawed that as disturbing the peace. So isn’t it already illegal to use loud speakers to make announcements that are NOT for emergency purposes?
Mark Spahn (West Seneca, NY) says
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loudspeakers_in_mosques
says, “The first known installation of a microphone–loudspeaker set occurred in 1936 in the Masjid Sultan in Singapore”.
Strangely, the word “bida” (innovation) appears nowhere in this Wikipedia article.
Does the secular law in your locality also allow kafirs to broadcast amplified adhan? It must, because the First Amendment of the federal constitution makes no distinctions between religions.
