Pro tip to Hindu (and other non-muslim) women: I know it kills the romance, but if you’re gonna be in a relationship w/ anyone, make sure one or more of your trusted older relatives (not necessarily your parents) gets to know one or more of his older relatives. While you date him, have that relative of yours screen his family to make sure that he’s not pulling a fast one on you. Once he verifies that things are above board, then he can get off and you can continue dating. But if he finds something fishy or worse, he can warn you and you can dump him, making sure that he’s w/ you during the act, so that you don’t undergo the fate of Nikita Tomar

I saw one Hindu YouTube influencer once suggest that Hindu parents should enroll their kids – particularly their daughters – in martial arts classes, rather than dance classes. Particularly in this day & age, when even public assaults, rather than being met w/ community outrage and a crowd lynching the perp to death, would instead be met first w/ people capturing the video on their smartphones, later sharing them on Instagram and then after the girl is dead, holding candlelight vigils. She’s not gonna be saved by screaming “Save me” even in a crowd, since smartphones have just transformed society at large into voyeurs, so she needs to be well equipped to maim her assailant
As far as government goes, India badly needs its version of the Second Amendment. We’ve seen both the RSS and BJP say (particularly in Bengal) that if their members are being hunted, they are on their own. Fair enough, but in that case, give them the rights to legally own weapons of any kind, and create a gun culture in India like the one we have in the US. I have heard Indian immigrants be critical of the gun culture here, but especially after the last few years, not only do I believe that each country has its own culture that is fine to have (which I always believed) but now, if either one should emulate the other, it’s India which should emulate the US by having its own versions of the NRA, Gun Owners of India and so on
