New in PJ Media:
It was inevitable that if the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, the Left would go into hysterical overdrive, and here we are. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Absolut) fought back tears Friday as she read off her Orwellian and utterly predictable statements deploring the deplorable Supreme Court for being so deplorable as to rule that a fake “right” that had no basis in constitutional law was a fake “right” that had no basis in constitutional law.
Pelosi initially appeared to be angry as she said: “There’s no point in saying good morning, because it certainly is not one. This morning, the radical Supreme Court is eviscerating Americans’ rights and endangering theirs [sic] health and safety. But the Congress will continue to act, um, to overcome this extremism.” The “extremism” to which she referred was simple constitutionalism, in which the states retain rights and aren’t simply reduced to provinces of the federal government. As abortion is not mentioned in the Constitution, there is no federal right to it, and it’s up to the individual states to allow it or outlaw it. If that’s “extreme,” so is the Constitution itself. (And that may be Pelosi’s point.)
The sage House Speaker also declared: “I am personally overwhelmed by this decision. From time to time I quote” – long pause – “this poem by Ehud Manor. He’s an Israeli poet. I met his wife when I’ve been in Israel. He says, ‘I have no other country the though [sic] my land is burning, only a word in Hebrew penetrates my veins, my soul, with an aching body, and with a hungry heart. Here is my home. I will not be silent, for my country has changed her face.’” Here Pelosi repeated the line for emphasis: “‘My country has changed her face. I shall not give up on her, I shall remind her, and sing into her ears, until she opens her eyes.’ Clearly we hope that the Supreme Court will open its eyes.” This was deft of Pelosi, to include a dig at Israel within her lament at the loss of her federally mandated sacrifices to Moloch; after all, one doesn’t become speaker of the House without having considerable political skills.
Pelosi’s office also issued a statement, which she likewise read out: “Today, the Republican-controlled Supreme Court has achieved the GOP’s dark and extreme goal of ripping away women’s –” and here Pelosi paused and appeared to be about to burst into tears “– right to make their own reproductive health decisions. Because of Donald Trump, Mitch McConnell, the Republican Party, and their supermajority on the Supreme Court, American women today have less freedom than their mothers.”
There is more. Read the rest here.
Namer says
Guess Nancy is another Democrat that believes women have not ability to manage their reproductive health decisions like using birth control if you are going to be sexually active. Apparently Nancy believes woman are to stupid to go to doctors to get Birth Control or to go to Country Health Department’s to get free birth control.
Infidel says
She thought she was being clever by claiming that the courts were being 2-faced by not allowing states to curb gun rights while allowing states to curb abortion rights. Except that the latter is nowhere in the constitution, whereas the former is
Another thing I noticed: her sanctimonious claims of being a devout Catholic who prays for her enemies (like she did for President Trump 3 years ago during the first impeachment) is gone: nowhere did she say yesterday that she prays for pro-Life people to change their minds and agree w/ her. What happened: has she become a Protestant?
somehistory says
she “prays” to that black criminal thug who died resisting arrest after ingesting copious amounts of illegal drugs. and she ‘preys’ on the public who have no say in whether she continues in the House and has a high position as “speaker.”
Protestants pray for their “enemies” as Jesus commanded if they follow strictly His Words. pelosi doesn’t qualify to pray, as the Biele says one must be doing what they are commanded in order to be heard. pelosi has no regard for the life of the unborn or for those who disagree with her. she’s not about to ask the drug-ingesting thug to help them, even if he could hear her and could do a blooming thing. And I doubt with every fiber of which I am made that she prays to God.

Solid points, Infidel.

She disagrees with the decision of the court. That is clear and acceptable. The third most powerful woman in the government, however, feels she needs to lie about the breadth of the decision. Doing so is morally and ethically unacceptable for an issue as important as this.

So now according to the font of all knowledge, AKA Nancy Pelosi, the supreme court is “radical” and “extremist” for upholding the constitution and enforcing any law she doesn’t like.
Personally, I believe that saying, that it’s a persons right to decide what happens with their own body.
This law will force the victims of rape to bear the child of their rapist and that is like punishing a victim twice.
If anyone could rightfully be given a tag of extremist, it is her.
Westman says
The founding fathers could never have imagined a time would come when many women would offer intimate relations without commitment and be willing to use abortion as a backup to contraception. If they had included reference to abortion in the Constitution, it’s unlikely that today’s feminists would agree with it.
Pelosi says the end of federally mandated abortion rights, “hurts men”. Yeah, the end of no responsibility. What man ever said, “that ain’t my baby!”, “I’m not providing support if you keep it!”, etc.
Abortion is still available, with less convenience. Places where hedonism reigns, like CA, will have full service abortion including travel and lodging.

To Westman: very well said!
I would add to his brilliant summary that most countries restrict access to abortion by imposing a TIME LIMIT.
That is what the Texas ‘heartbeat law’ tries to do. Most countries think that 3 months is enough time for a woman to decide this important matter. To continue a pregnancy after three months indicates a willingness to go through with the birth.
It is, therefore, not unreasonable tor the USA to have a similar time limit.
somehistory says
Your comment reminds me of “The Scarlet Letter.” there was a time when a woman would not admit to “an affair” and if pregnant, hid the fact as long as possible, but didn’t look to killing it and being open about the murder.
Wellington says
Excellent comment, Westman.

Seconded.

The elected representatives should make the abortion law, not the unelected justices.
The framers of the American constitution were mostly God-fearing, knew the Sixth Commandment had no doubt that abortion was wrong. They would be horrified by Pelosi, and as little as a generation ago, most Dems would not want Pelosi in charge of anything because of her support for unrestricted abortion. That was never promised by the abortion lobby back at the time of Roe v. Wade.
The Left preposterously believes that the framers somehow slipped a right to 280 days of abortion into the Constitution.
Constitutionalism means that justices interpret the Constitution as the framers intended, and not fancifully by inserting their own agendas into it. Justices do not have the job description of creating law. They interpret the law and set precedents for interpretations that follow.

She claims to be a Roman Catholic (so does Biden). But how can any Catholic support abortion when the Catholic Church holds that life begins at conception? I can understand how a Catholic would say something to the effect that they don’t want to impose their religious views on others but in their own person I do not see how any Catholic can themselves support abortion and especially vote for it, including under the euphemism of “reproductive rights.”
GreekEmpress says
Catholic doctrine is clear. You cannot be a Catholic in good standing by supporting abortion. This is why Pelosi has been told by her Archbishop not to present herself for Communion. Biden should not present himself, either. He was against abortion back in the day, but being a politician, he is trying to appease the ultra left wing of his party
He and Pelosi have sacrificed their spiritual beliefs for perceived political points.

She was so overwhelmed she was about to cry? With the opinion being leaked from the Supreme Court she only had something like a month to prepare herself. What a phony. She needs to get out of D.C. and go back to California where she can enjoy the time she has left playacting for her great-grandchildren and baking them cookies. The woman is full of herself and the morning after she is gone truly will be a good morning. The only downside will be that the morning after that another even greater buffoon will take her place.

“Senators Elizabeth Warren and Tina Smith called on Biden to take action on the abortion ruling.
“The danger is real, and Democrats must meet it with the urgency it deserves,” they wrote in an NYT op-ed on Saturday.’
In an op-ed for the New York Times on Saturday, the Democratic senators said that “with the release of the Dobbs decision,” the US is facing ” a perilous time that threatens millions of women across this nation.”
“We urge the president to declare a public health emergency to protect abortion access for all Americans, unlocking critical resources and authority that states and the federal government can use to meet the surge in demand for reproductive health services. The danger is real, and Democrats must meet it with the urgency it deserves,” Warren and Smith wrote.”
Oh, Please! millions of Americans don’t want “abortion access.” This ruling by the Court removes some of the “real danger” to the innocent unborn. These women are a “real danger” to us all.
These ghouls just have to find a way, any way possible …in law or outside it…to murder as many little children as possible. they don’t give a tootie-fruity even if they murder someone who could grow up and find a cure for stupidity and an end to lying by the unscrupulous. In fact, they would esp want to keep that little one from being born.
and that includes the pelosi creature…she would have signed the letter had she been a senator, in all probability. she is a ghoul in the first, second and third degree.

I’m against abortion in most cases, but when it comes to muslims it should be compulsory.

Poor Nancy Pelosi Fought Back Tears
……………………………
Note all the cases where Pelosi *didn’t* cry–but the idea that there is no federal mandate for killing unborn babies? Now *that* brings tears to her eyes…
And while I know some of Ehud Manor’s song lyrics–including “I have no other country”–I don’t know his politics, or what particular change in Israel these lyrics refer to. Does anyone here know? Probably *not* a reference to abortion, though…
So for Pelosi, this was probably just another opportunity as she saw it to get in a dig against civilized Israel.

She may hate the ruling but crying over it brings things down to a whole new level.

The business of pregnant women and their support network, only.
Far Cry says
I do not understand why they only allow for killing a baby while it is in the womb. Its just so restrictive. I mean really, one day you wake up and realize that some how you are pregnant. And now you might only have 6 months left to decided to kill the baby. But what if you have the baby and no longer want it?! And you dont want anyone else to have the baby. I mean really, its your baby. And now you are enslaved with the baby until, well, for a large portion of your life. All because you only had a few months.
bill says
The fact is that by giving the decision to the states the SCOTUS know very well that many states will introduce draconian not to mention unscientific laws against abortion. Many are racing to do so, thereby treating women as unequal citizens. Pure patriarchy in fact USA has just resigned its position of the leader of the ‘civilised’ world,
though that was always debatable.
Women have been accused by the anti abortion gang of frivolously, irresponsibly and callously taking abortions like it is buying a new handbag. It is more often a case of dealing with economic reality or It is .because the inseminator is long gone!
For that we might blame the sex obsessed American ‘culture’.
The better off will continue to have abortions as they can afford it, which means of course the underprivileged will have more unwanted children, not to mention that such women often die in child birth due to USA’s expensive and inefficient health provision.
You can look forward to many fatherless boys in particular replenishing the ranks of the underworld and inevitably your huge jail populatlon.
gravenimage says
bill, your idea that all women are pro-abortion is mistaken.
You also don’t say how a moral stance against killing unborn babies is “unscientific”.
somehistory says
More women are against it than for it. And Students for Life have many college-age women and men.
and the “polls” claiming that a majority of Americans were for roe, is also misleading, because when the stats are broken down, the majority don’t want babies killed after the first few weeks, in those that say women should have some choice.
there is no one that I personally know…and that includes many females…who are for this “choice”…but all are pro-life.
