We had to burn the trees to save the trees… from us.
On Monday, Dutch reforestation company Land Life started what has become a 35,000 acre forest fire in Spain.
These things happen. And happen.
This is the second forest fire started by Land Life in a month.
I’m starting to think that environmentalists and the rest of us have very different definitions of saving the planet.
Here’s what Land Life claims that it does.
Land Life is a tech-driven reforestation company planting trees at scale. We use a holistic approach and all of the wonderful minds of our employees, partners, and customers to create projects that remove CO2 from the atmosphere, rebuild ecosystems and work in collaboration with local communities.
Here’s what it does
“The fire started while one of our contractors was using a retro-spider excavator to prepare the soil to plant trees later this winter,” Land Life said in a statement on Thursday. “The operators alerted the emergency services. The emergency teams are working non-stop to control the fire and have fortunately established the fire perimeter. Nonetheless, we are devastated by the latest estimate that the damage will be around 14,000 hectares,” or roughly 35,000 acres.”
How many acres of trees did Land Life even plant?
It’s not clear how many acres Land Life has actually planted trees in—one blog post suggested the company aimed to plant around 20,000 acres between 2020-2021.
This is like the time that Bernie Sanders got kicked out of the Kibbutz.
The fire has forced authorities to order the evacuation of five neighboring towns, as well as a nursing home. In total, around 2,000 people had to be evacuated. Javier Lambán, the president of Aragon, said the incident is “serious and concerning,” according to local media.
Sometimes you have to break a lot of eggs to make an omelet. Or burn a lot of trees to make a forest. Or crash a lot of computers to make an OS.
As of January 1, 2021 Ernst-Jan Stigter, general manager of Microsoft in the Netherlands, will join Land Life Company as the new CEO.
This explains too much.
I’m in favor of planting trees. Personally. We just probably shouldn’t let environmentalists do it. Or much of anything else. Like at the end of Rainbow Six, take everything, leave them in the jungle knowing that while they might all get eaten by anacondas and fire ants, at least that will remove their carbon emissions from the planet.

Indian common man created 550 hectares of forest. Who didn’t get any limelight and Greta who was getting all limelight for just shouting. That’s leftists for you.

this is why Revelation 11:18 declares our Creator’s prophecy to ”bring to ruin those ruining the earth.”
Man was told to care for the earth, not ruin and destroy it.
Squirrels do a better job of tree planting than these clowns, and the squirrels are not even trying to plant. And they only start fires if they get trapped in transformers.

To begin with, CO2 is not a poison. It’s food for plants. Right now in the atmosphere it is about 400 parts per million. Two hundred years ago it was about 300 parts per million. At times in Earth’s history it has been as high as 8,000 parts per million.
Thus, verily and so on per the environmental fanatics, this very minor difference over the last two hundred years is the chief culprit in driving the hysteria about man-made climate change, all due to terrible man while wonderful nature is suffering. It is pseudo-science and not science and amounts to almost nothing. It’s metaphorical manure.
BTW, the hottest temperatures ever recorded in states like California and Alabama were long ago—1913 for California and 1925 for Alabama. Uh? You’d think the highest temperatures ever recorded in these two states would be much more recent. But they aren’t. And it’s all part of the fraud and hysteria of man-made climate change.
And notice too that when freezing temperatures occur here or there in Winter and this is pointed out by skeptics like me that man-made climate change is bogus, we’re told that we’re idiots for not distinguishing between climate and weather. But when extremely hot temperatures are recorded in Summer months, the man-made climate change crowd use this again and again as evidence of simply horrible and catastrophic man-made climate change. Total double standard. Big time. Monumentally stupid.

Wellington, these things you stated should be common knowledge, but knowledge isn’t common any longer. Only nonsense is common today.
Back a long time ago, one of my younger brothers became really ill with pneumonia and they put him in an oxygen tent. He survived and then couldn’t see. He was nearly blind and the doctors said it was due to the pure oxygen they had used.
We need other gases in the air we breathe. and the trees and other plants need the CO2.
those who claim that we need to stop living…they don[t like it that we might be happy that way,…because it’s “killing the planet”…seem to neglect the thought that if we stop living, what will the planet do without us? and they want complete control…of even our feelings.

That’s nothing – the BBC announced a few days ago that it was “the hottest day for 200 years!”
Hmm – so it was even hotter BEFORE we had the internal combustion engine, jet aircraft, central-heating, oil-exploration, fracking etc ?
Guess all those canals, sailing ships, horse-drawn wagons, bicycles, pedestrians etc must have been absolutely devastating for the environment….

Yes, Wellington.
And, according to our very own EPA, auto emission standards have made our air much cleaner:
“Smog pollution emission standards have been strengthened over time making our air substantially cleaner and healthier. NOx emission standards for light duty vehicles in 2025 are a 98% improvement from 1975, and a major driver to the improvements in U.S. air quality.”
