Here we go again: more strategic global alliances are being made with America’s enemies while America remains MIA (missing in action) under its decrepit leader and a party determined to destroy America. This time, India is buying surface to air Russian-made missiles and America isn’t happy about it.
But India is looking out for its interests.
Although India and China have worked to establish economic and diplomatic ties, “border issues remain a major flashpoint….The heightened tensions that reinflamed violence to the point of military killing in June 2020 thus made this border clash the worst in 45 years.”
India’s focus under Trump was a tactical one. It was to develop “strategic partnerships with the United States and its allies, while continuing strong relations with Russia and other long-standing partners to ‘balance’ its national security position.” And it isn’t about to change its tactics to appease old Joe, who cannot be relied upon.
“Report: India Adds Surface-to-Air Missiles to Border with China,” by Gabrielle Reyes, Breitbart, July 25, 2022:
New Delhi plans to install a new batch of surface-to-air missile systems along India’s northern Himalayan border with China by October, the Times of India reported on Monday, as the two neighbors remain engaged in a border standoff that began in June 2020.
“India’s capability to detect and destroy hostile fighters, strategic bombers, missiles and drones at long ranges will get another major boost when a new squadron of the S-400 Triumf surface-to-air missile systems becomes operational along the northern borders with China in the next two to three months,” the Times of India reported on July 25.
“[D]eliveries of the second operational S-400 squadron through ships and aircraft are now underway from Russia,” the newspaper revealed, citing unnamed sources.
New Delhi has continued to move forward with a plan to acquire five S-400 surface-to-air missile systems from Moscow pursuant to a $5.5 million deal signed by the two parties in 2018.
The U.S. government maintains icy relations with the Kremlin and actively discourages other nations from supporting Moscow through defense deals. This attitude has caused Washington to publicly oppose India’s acquisition of the Russian anti-aircraft systems. The U.S. has additionally threatened to impose sanctions on New Delhi should it follow through with the business transaction. India, for its part, argues that it needs the Russian S-400s to counter a grave “national security” threat from China along the two Asian giants’ largely unmarked Himalayan boundary.
“India has told the US that the S-400 systems, the acquisition process for which began before CAATSA was enacted in 2017, are an ‘urgent national security requirement’ to counter its hostile neighbors…

Bien and his stupid handlers have destroyed so much both domestically and internationally. This article serves as an example of this self-evident truth.
And may I once again thank all the fools who ACTUALLY voted for Biden (N.B., bogus votes not counting here). You did America, freedom, democracy and mankind a great disservice. I hope you get this, but then if you were foolish enough to vote for Biden in the first place, chances are you are suffering from terminal ignorance.

Pakistan has been rattling its nukes at India for decades over Kashmir. The new China one-belt initiative with Pakistan increasingly endangers India by giving Pakistan a notion that will have a backup partner (bodyguard) should it be losing in some future hostility with India.
China could use more land and likely views the Indian administration as barely competent. They may instigate a war under some questionable pretext, with India, for a land grab. If Russia can start a conflict for its own interests, China cetainly could, as well.
India sees quite clearly that the US would only support a proxy war with China and that any weapons they buy from the US will have less capability than those used by the US military.

China actually has plenty of land, Westman, along with a decreasing population. In fact, India’s population could outstrip China’s by the end of the decade. But totalitarian China is fine with abusing other nations if it considers them weak–especially its neighbors. It considers being feared “respect”.
Westman says
Good farmland is what China needs in order to expand the population. It has plenty of low-yield land. Take a look at the Northeast area of India on Google Maps. Notice the green areas from Amritsar to Nepal.
Infidel says
That’s north-central. Northeast is mainly a combination of mountains and a tea growing area: not much agriculture there. But if Beijing manages to seize it, they can make an alliance w/ Bangladesh, which by persecuting Hindus, is making it harder for India to pretend that they are a friend, and then get a more direct outlet to the Indian ocean than they did w/ Pakistan
Also, the only way India loses is if nukes are used, but in that case, China won’t get any farmland: that whole country would be like Chernobyl

Westman, China’s population is not dropping because they don’t have enough arable land.
“China’s baby bust is so dramatic, India will surpass it as the world’s most populous country far earlier than expected”

This may happen in just a few years.
Then, China has the largest agricultural yields in the world, followed by India and the United States.
China exports almost $65 billion in agricultural products.
And of course even if China *was* short of agricultural land, it has *no* right to invade its neighbors and seize their land (especially the land of the nation that is poised to have the largest population in the world). It also has a huge industrial and manufacturing sector and can afford to import food.
China is just feeling emboldened to threaten Taiwan and India because they feel they *can*. Not a good situation.

India deploys Russian-made surface-to-air missiles on border with China
……………………………..
And China is so emboldened by having a weak president in the White House that the are threatening the US if Pelosi, who is on an Asian tour, dares consider visiting Taiwan. They have even threatened to shoot down her plane. And Blinken, instead of telling China to mind its own business, seems to be making appeasing noises.
I am *no* fan of Russia since their unprovoked invasion of Ukraine, but I don’t blame India for doing what she can to defend their borders against China. The US should not even be considering sanctions on India, especially since this deal was likely in the works long before February.
Oscar says
Blinken is a joke.

That he is–and not a funny one.

India follows a policy w/ Russia that President Trump wanted to follow, before he was sabotaged: using Russia as a foil against China. The success of the Dems and the Europeans in sabotaging Trump’s move ultimately drove Russia into the arms of Beijing, and now India and China are at parity. The Quad alliance did have all 4 members – India, Japan, Australia and US – pulling their weights and helping out other countries in the region – Burma, Vietnam, Thailand, Philippines, Taiwan, Papua New Guinea, et al. It might have improved, except that under Biden, the Soros crowd are now busy trying to topple the Modi government
India was a US ally during Trump and can be again, but a Democrat led US is no friend of India. The 80s are gone: the era when Sen Moynihan or Congressman Solarz would lobby for India is long past. Despite it, the bulk of Indian-Americans stupidly support the Dems, even though they are amongst the “White-adjacent” races that are nowhere in the leftist pecking order
My only criticism of India: they need to formally recognize Taiwan, after downgrading relations w/ China. What will China do – invade India or Taiwan? A war would just worsen their situation: they already have a run on their banks
