All praise and thanks are due to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon His Messenger.

In this fatwa:

Your marriage with your husband is automatically terminated by your conversion to Islam. This means, you are no longer permitted to have conjugal relations. Pray to Allah earnestly and persistently to open your husband’s heart to the truth of Islam.

Responding to your question, Sheikh Ahmad Kutty, a senior lecturer and an Islamic scholar at the Islamic Institute of Toronto, Ontario, Canada, states:

Your marriage with your husband, according to the strict laws of Islam, is automatically terminated by your conversion to Islam. However, you are allowed to wait patiently for some time to give him a chance to recognize the beauty of Islam and convert to it on his own free will. If he does convert, you can resume your conjugal relations, without a new nikah (marriage)….

    • Sheikh Ahmed Kutty’s version of Sharia law is normative Islam, rather than an aberration.

      Of course, this is not the worst part. Sheikh Ahmed Kutty does not say it out loud. The husband’s life is also ‘automatically’ forfeited by leaving Islam. The wife should also leave Islam. Nothing will happen to them if they stay in Canada, but they will obviously lose their Muslim families, who will disown them, but at least they will have each another. If Sharia law doesn’t convince the wife that Islam is a FOOLISH DEATH CULT, then nothing will. Muslims have to think outside the box to realize that Islam is a false manmade cult … it is anti-life and anti-happiness. Most of all, Mohammed is the most obviously false prophet in history … a murderous thug and womanizer.

      Sharia law is the problem here and it is obviously false. It was not only codified, but frozen in time as ‘completed’ in 1111 AD when the ‘Doors of Theological Disputation’ (ijtihad) were shut. Further theological disputation is not valid. Any liberalization of Sharia law would be blasphemous and would lead to the deaths of the Islamic deviants.

      The human sheikhs who created Sharia did so hundreds of years after Mohammed supposedly heard from Jibreel. The human creators of Sharia supposedly KNEW MORE than the two fictitious characters Mohammed and Jibreel !

      Allah, Jibreel and Mohammed did not bring the manuals of Sharia which are now considered infallible … humans did hundreds of years after Mohammed was supposedly dead.

      Sharia law is manmade and thus it is not ‘Allah’s law’.

      • Perhaps this woman was unaware that by joining Islam she was entering a lobster trap. A way in, but no way out.

        She will certainly have second thoughts. Most new converts to Islam leave Islam after 19 months on average. It takes that long for them to realize the stupidities in Sharia law and the extreme racism of the Arabs, another well-kept secret in Islam.

      My view is: Lady, the minute you made your NEW religion more important than your husband and your history together, the marriage was over. The fact that you are giving a stranger, from a primitive religion, the power to destroy your marriage means you have already entered the realm of indirect relationships with Islam as the broker. That is social slavery. Unless your husband is a wuss, expect a divorce – he’s not going to accept Islam as a third party having primary control of the relationship.

    • I have to question this woman’s sanity? Objectivity? Intelligence? Did she actually convert to Islam without reading the Koran? Islam is the most extreme doctrine of all of them and you shouldn’t change faiths like you change dresses and then complain because the colors don’t suit you. Her husband is obviously the smart one.

  2. Extraordinary arrogance by the Muslim “scholar” to say that a marriage under Canadian law no longer exists because of this woman’s conversion to islam. I often read that Canada has gone a long way down the road to surrender to islam and its bullshit, but this is nonsense. Of course, her husband should throw the convert to islam aside anyway, as his life will be hell putting up with the islamic garbage she now seems to believe.

    • Tim, from his own viewpoint (a non-rationalistic one), Sheikh Kutty is simply reading what is written in the Sharia law manual. He is not making stuff up here.

      But, yes, it is ‘garbage’ made up by Islamic scholars in the middle ages.

      Sheikh Kutty is not really a ‘scholar’ either .. he is merely a religious historian who knows where to find Islam’s distorting eye-glasses that look at every human situation differently from a rational person who believes there is such a thing as ‘NATURAL MORAL LAW’.

      Islam says that only ‘SACRED LAW’ informs mankind what is ‘moral’ … not human reason.

      • Thanks for the information, mortimer. Well said about islam’s “distorting eye-glasses that look at every human situation differently from a rational person”. Amen to that. To me, islam seems to be a sick ideology devised by a bunch of bent and twisted men. Its vision of god is of a hideous, barbaric, evil monster. It should have had the decency to die away ages ago, like, say, the old Aztec religion, and leave the more rational human beings to get on with improving human life instead of keeping a section of the human race anchored in the dark ages..

          The ideology is based on a successful bunch of rebels who managed to take over the Roman Middle East, at a historic moment when Rome was weakened by plague and wars with Persia. The Arabs took over the land between the Persians and Romans. Thereupon, the Arabs cut the Roman Empire in two seizing the southern half of it.

          Islam was developed as a reworking of Arabian tribal religion with a gloss of Judaism and Christianity on top that was no more than very bad plagiarisms. Mohammed was an invented figure who largely copies Jesus, Moses and King David. It was all fake and the early caliphs knew it.

          This fake religion was entirely patched together from mutually exclusive elements and that is why it is so incoherent and irrational. Christianity and Judaism on the other hand are cradled in the arms of Greco-Roman rationalism … the rationalism that Islam realized it had to oppose and then dominate if the Arabs were to become successful. Islam succeeds through violence and terrorism … not through logic.

        • Thanks, mortimer. That seems like a good summary of islam’s nature. It certainly seems to be full of irrational nonsense. Compared to the high ideals, and peacefulness, of Christianity, islam mainly seems horrendously violent and has brought nothing but misery to its huge number of victims throughout its long history. Fitna, I suspect that you are right about the type of western women who join islam. I suspect that they don’t have a clue about it and the Muslim that they marry probably tells them a load of bullshit about it. I do see some young women where I live who have gone off and married into islam and I do wonder why, out of all the things they could go and marry into, why would they choose misogynistic islam. Maybe, if they are masochists, they might enjoy the life they have decided to live.

        • But if the muslimah was already married to a non-muslim man before her conversion, then her conversion to islam doesn’t automatically result in a divorce: they do have to explicitly go through that separately

          I have read about prison thugs converting to islam, and there, the motivation is clear: every criminal act of theirs suddenly becomes halal once done in the name of islam. But for this, or any other woman: what’s her reason?

    • A sheikh is not required to do what we in the West call ‘scholarship’. We think that a real ‘scholar’ must do original research and publish it for peer review. A scholars original ‘papers’ must be rigorously correct and well-defended and push forward into the realm of new discoveries and extensions to human knowledge. But being a ‘sheikh’ or ‘alim’ is not like that.

      A sheikh doesn’t do ANYTHING ‘ORIGINAL’ because that is ‘bida’ (innovation) and ORIGINAL INNOVATIVE THINKING is HERETICAL in Islam.

      A sheikh is more a librarian of Islam’s voluminous library..

      He is essentially a ‘resource person’ who memorizes answers to specific questions and is able to look them up in books he has read and then explain them to Muslims who want to know how to live according to Sharia.

      I know that many journalists refer to such people as ‘Islamic scholars’ but I dispute whether they do any real scholarship.

  7. If that was my Wife I would first off think she has gone bat shit crazy and if I cannot help her wake up then I would have no choice but to divorce her and send her on her way without ANY alimony whatsoever as she can now depend on her muslims fellows to help out, to me she is dead.
