New in PJ Media:
On Saturday I pointed out that a full day had gone by since Salman Rushdie was stabbed, and Old Joe Biden, the putative president of the United States, hadn’t said Word One about the attack, leaving National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan to issue a vacuous and perfunctory statement. Eventually, however, Old Joe’s ghostwriter was compelled to swing into action, and it would have been better if he or she or xe had kept silent.
“Jill and I were shocked and saddened,” wrote (nobody was letting Joe anywhere near the cameras to mangle another statement) Biden’s mouthpiece, “to learn of the vicious attack on Salman Rushdie yesterday in New York. We, together with all Americans and people around the world, are praying for his health and recovery. I am grateful to the first responders and the brave individuals who jumped into action to render aid to Rushdie and subdue the attacker.” So far so good, but this is the Biden administration, so no one in the entire universe will be surprised that the statement went into the dumpster from there.
The alleged president continued: “Salman Rushdie—with his insight into humanity, with his unmatched sense for story, with his refusal to be intimidated or silenced—stands for essential, universal ideals.” It’s hard to read this claptrap without immediately thinking of all the times the Biden administration has trafficked in intimidation in order to try to silence those whom it hates. The entire Jan. 6 “insurrection” hysteria, especially the long imprisonment and mistreatment of people who entered the Capitol on that day after police opened the doors, is one interminable exercise in the intimidation and attempted silencing of those who have the temerity to support Donald Trump. The FBI’s Mar-a-Lago raid is shaping up to be another attempt to intimidate Trump and those who support him, and blunt the force of their push to regain power in 2022 and 2024.
Merrick Garland’s rogue, corrupt, politicized FBI most notoriously employed intimidation tactics against parents protesting at school board meetings against the imposition of the woke agenda in public schools. But now Old Joe would have us believe that he thinks Salman Rushdie is a hero for refusing to be intimidated and silenced. And the statement just gets worse from there.
Biden’s ghostwriter goes on: “Truth. Courage. Resilience. The ability to share ideas without fear. These are the building blocks of any free and open society. And today, we reaffirm our commitment to those deeply American values in solidarity with Rushdie and all those who stand for freedom of expression.”
There is more. Read the rest here.

Salman Rushdie’s security guards did not do their job. A 24-year-old Shi’ite Muslim, however, did his job as prescribed by discriminatory Sharia law. Only the mullahs are given freedom of expression to speak about Islam. Everyone else should remain silent or face the consequences from Islam’s authorized vigilantes who are allowed to enforce Sharia with or without a fatwa. The 1989 fatwa of Ayatollah Khomeini is still in effect.
Kafirs are not allowed to speak about Islam, and apostates should always be killed.
-“The dhimmi is obliged not to mention Allah or His Apostle…dhimmis must hold their tongue…. (From the Wagjiz, written in 1101 A.D. by al-Ghazali)
– Sheikh-ul-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah said “There is no right for anyone to pardon, or forgive, or leave the charge of death penalty because of benefit and interest, or change/replace the penalty from capital punishment to something lesser (e.g. Ta’zir being lashed or sentenced to prison) because this is someone who has harmed Muhammad (saw) and the entire Muslim Ummah [written in the chapter called Can we drop the charge against someone who insults Muhammad (saw)]. The offence is so great that in some cases an apostate can repent and return to the fold of Islam whereas anyone who insults any of the Messengers may repent but will never affect the ruling on him. As Imam Malik [d.179 AH] (rh) said He could become the most pious person in the entire world but that will not detract the penalty of being executed.”

Mortimer, Salman Rushdie no longer had security guards:
“Salman Rushdie Lived More Freely In Recent Years, Didn’t Want Constant Security”

I understand how he felt, but had worried that he was too optimistic.
And security at the Chautauqua Institution is very minimal.

Old Joe’s ghost writer doesn’t realize that Islam is 100% against freedom of expression. Islam is an honor/shame culture, and it matters little whether a comment about Islam is true or false. The INTENTION of the comment is judged and condemned by mullah’s unless the intention is to whitewash and exonerate Islam while casting Islam in a favorable light.
The old campaign (now discontinued) that ‘Islam is the religion of peace’ has been so thoroughly debunked in the popular view that no Muslim or Leftist ally will dare use the discredited trope anymore. To so makes them a laughingstock.
Islam is a religion of discriminatory Sharia law, and no freedom of expression exists or is defended in Islam. Quite the reverse: only mullahs have freedom to speak about Islam according to Sharia law.

I sincerely apologise in advance for being somewhat direct, but could someone please explain to us on the other side of the pond exactly how the good American People managed to vote something curiously resembling a malfunctioning auto-icon into the White House?
mortimer says
Agree. He is like MISTER MAGOO.
To Jayell: about half of Americans believe that Mark Zuckerberg’s $400 million donated to ‘get-out-the-vote’ organizations and to pay for dropboxes (filled with counterfeit ballots) had a lot to do with the election result.
The counting was stopped between 2am and 8am so that the Dems could raise the number of counterfeit votes to make their target.
The frauds have been caught on surveillance video : see film ‘2000 Mules’.
CogitoErgoSum says
I don’t think we will ever know for sure what happened in the 2020 election. I believe it was Mark Zuckerberg who said that the voting in 2020 had been “fortified” with hundreds of millions of dollars of big tech money to get people to vote who normally would not have voted because it was so easy just to mail in a ballot or use a drop-box on a street corner instead of waiting in line at the polls – and only potential Biden voters were targeted and “fortified.” I’m convinced that there was fraud in that election like none before it. Dead people, people in nursing homes with dementia, illegal aliens, space aliens and dogs and cats voted in that election. It was not widespread and not in every state but it took place in enough states to get Biden almost elected – however, it was still not enough to keep Trump from winning. I’m also convinced that during the pause in counting ballots previously counted ballots for Biden were secretly counted again and other ballots for Trump were not counted at all. The biggest crime in America was committed the day of that election and in the early morning hours the day after. The Jan.6 show-trial of Trump and the Justice Dept. fishing expedition using the FBI has done nothing but make me believe the fraud goes on and will go on until, one way or another, Donald Trump is no longer able to run for President again. Some people need to go to prison for what they did and this is why they are so scared right now that they are becoming desperate and more dangerous with each passing day.

We probably won’t know this until 2030 or after

I think we can all be perfectly sure that “Old Joe’s ghost writer” both realizes this and applauds it.
mortimer says
To Phil: if the ghostwriter knows that, he/she/it is a damnable liar. But I believe they are irredeemably and willfully ignorant of Islam’s Sharia blasphemy laws.

Shiver me timbers! All scuttlebutt! Captain be three sheets to the wind! There be dragons ahead…..

Agree: what hypocrrsiy and deceit! He cares nothing about Rushdie’s right to criticize Islam. He would rather have such people banned from twitter and youtube!
Meanwhile, the White House has been asking Twitter and youtube to ban everyone who publishes information that casts the Dems in an unfavorable light.
The Dems want to impose censorship and have openly said so in the past. They wanted to censor Fox News for instance and said so. I know Leftist who are always talking about censorship.
This sort of insincere statement from Biden is something he certainly does NOT believe in.
Biden is the worst sort of political charlatan. Biden reads whatever message they place before him without filtering.
Many people do not see his almost complete lack of sincerity, but his whole career was built on such vacilating flummery.

And did you notice? Not one word of condemnation of the attacker nor his motivations!

Yep. That he did not even condemn the attacker is appalling–but this is sadly common these days.

Fact!
Yohanan says
Yes the President’s statement could have been more direct and less wordy. But the timing is hard to criticize. Pres. Biden spoke too quick on the Alburquerque, NM murders of 4 Muslims, which it turned out were killed by a Muslim. And he spoke too late on the attack on Salmon Rushdie?
gravenimage says
Has Yohanan failed to notice that these actions have the same affect? In both cases they whitewash Islam. This was no mistake on Biden’s part.

Biden Finally Makes Statement on Rushdie Stabbing, and It’s Even Worse Than You’d Expect
……………………………..
Yes, it’s even worse. Note there is *no* mention of what Salman Rushdie is standing up against–not even some vague reference to “extremism”. Rushdie might almost have been hit by a bus or something as have been the victim of a Fatwa and Jihad terror attack.
