In a rare good-news story, a convicted Ottawa-area jihadist was denied day parole by an appeals panel.
It is urgent that Western authorities understand the jihadist mindset, including the deception that goes along with it, as well as the encouragement of war against disbelievers. Some imams are not opposed to the jihadist mindset. Martyrdom is regarded as the highest calling in Islam. Passages such as these are taken seriously by jihadists:
“Let those who sell the life of this world for the next fight in the way of Allah. Whoever fights in the way of Allah, whether he is killed or victorious, on him we will bestow a great reward.” (Quran 4:74)
“Indeed, Allah has bought from the believers their lives and their wealth, because the garden will be theirs, they will fight in the way of Allah and will kill and be killed. It is a promise that is binding on him in the Torah and the Gospel and the Qur’an. Who fulfills his covenant better than Allah? Rejoice then in your bargain that you have made, for that is the supreme triumph.” (Quran 9:111)
The words of Muhammad: “I would love to be martyred in Allah’s Cause and then get resurrected and then get martyred, and then get resurrected again and then get martyred and then get resurrected again and then get martyred.” This is why modern-day Jihadists often say that they love death. (Sahih Bukhari 52:54)
“Allah guarantees that He will admit the Mujahid in His Cause into Paradise if he is killed, otherwise He will return him to his home safely with rewards and war booty.” (Sahih Bukhari 52:46)
During the battle of Uhud, Muhammad was desperate to push men into battle. He promised paradise for those who would martyr themselves, prompting a young man who was eating dates to throw them away and rush to his death. (Sahih Muslim 20:4678)
A man asks Muhammad “which of men is the best?” Muhammad replies that it is the man who is always ready for battle and flies into it “seeking death at places where it can be expected.” (Sahih Muslim 20:4655)
Kudos to this appeals panel for prioritizing public safety.
“Convicted terrorist Momin Khawaja denied day parole,” by Andrew Duffy, Ottawa Citizen, August 5, 2022:
The Parole Board of Canada’s appeal division has denied the parole request of convicted terrorist Momin Khawaja, saying he has yet to take responsibility for his crimes.
In a recently released decision, the appeal division upheld the parole board’s rejection of Khawaja’s application for day parole in February.
Khawaja, 43, has been behind bars for 18 years after being arrested in 2004 and charged with seven terrorism-related offences.
The Ottawa man was later convicted on five counts and handed a life sentence in connection with his role in an al-Qaeda-inspired plot to bomb targets in the United Kingdom. Five British men received life sentences in connection with the same fertilizer bomb plot….
“Taking responsibility for building electronic devices or funding and training terrorist organizations to advance their interests without a fulsome appreciation of how your role contributed to and facilitated the larger objectives of the terrorist organizations is problematic,” the appeal division said in rejecting Khawaja’s parole request.
In making its decision, the appeal panel considered a November 2021 risk assessment of Khawaja prepared by the Correctional Service of Canada. During that assessment, Khawaja told a psychologist no one was harmed, physically or psychologically, by his work on the detonator…..
In February, when the parole board first denied Khawaja day parole, it said he represented an “undue risk to society.”
Khawaja’s appeal argued the board had failed to consider how his values and beliefs had changed during his incarceration. With the help of two Imams, Khawaja said, he has moved away from extremism “toward a more democratic, moral and Canadian view of society.”
Khawaja told the board he wanted to move to an Ottawa halfway house, study law and help refugees.
The appeal division panel, however, said Khawaja did not provide specifics about how he had changed and did not put together a viable, structured release plan….

Even a fool can observe that none of those murderers with their love of death ever came back. I think the only place the miserable, evil, endless cycle of death Muhammad talks of is experienced in a very hot place called Hell. Not to mention the eternal memory of having been duped by him.
“But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear him who, after your body has been killed, has authority to throw you into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him.” Luke 12:4
“He promised paradise for those who would martyr themselves, prompting a young man who was eating dates to throw them away and rush to his death. (Sahih Muslim 20:4678)”
An earlier nut-case caused to stumble.
“…It is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into hell, 48 where “‘the worms that eat them do not die, and the fire is not quenched.’” Mark 9:47-48

Canada: Ottawa-area convicted bomb-plotting jihadist denied day parole
……………………………………..
*Good*. But *of course* he should be denied day parole. Day parole is for those convicted of non-violent offences who have a record of good behavior, and then only for very serious issues like attending a close loved one’s funeral.
This is *not* for violent lifers who have never indicated even the slightest remorse for their crimes. Hope future judges are as sane.

So he wants to be able to facilitate the arrival of like-minded jihadis into Canada under the guise of helping “refugees”. Got it.
