New in PJ Media:
If the Biden administration’s dumpster fire didn’t threaten to engulf us all, Old Joe and his team of tokens, clowns, hacks, and psychopaths would be good for a few laughs. Nobody expects the president’s press secretary to be a great intellect, but a rudimentary understanding of how the American government works would be nice. Instead, on Wednesday we got Karine Jean-Pierre informing the nation that the Supreme Court’s Dobbs v. Jackson decision overturning Roe v. Wade was “unconstitutional.” Yes, she really said that.
This is, of course, a world in which a woman who is being touted as a major contender for the Democrat party’s presidential nomination in 2024 thinks, or at least thought before her words were received with a torrent of ridicule, that the “three chambers of government” are “the presidency, the Senate, and the House.” So it’s not a huge surprise that the press secretary thinks that the branch of government that is empowered to determine whether or not a particular law accords with the Constitution can itself do something unconstitutional. Perhaps we should be grateful that anyone on the Left still cares that there is a Constitution at all.
Jean-Pierre said: “From day one, when, uh, when the Supreme Court made this extreme decision, uh, to take away, uh, uh, a constitutional right, uh, it was an unconstitul — unconstitutional action by them, a right that was around for almost fifty years, a right that women had to make a decision on their bodies, and how they wanna start their families…” This is not the sort of statement that yields to logical analysis, but it still raises questions: a constitutional right that was around for almost fifty years? Does Karine Jean-Pierre think that the Constitution was ratified in 1972?
Also, if Karine Jean-Pierre thinks that what the Supreme Court has done in overturning this “right” (actually, all it did was allow the states once again to make their own laws regarding abortion) was “unconstitutional,” what authority does she think exists within the American government to determine whether or not a Supreme Court is constitutional? Supreme Court Justice Elena Kagan recently said that “if over time the court loses all connection with the public and with public sentiment, that’s a dangerous thing for a democracy.” Does Jean-Pierre, too, believe that the Supreme Court’s decisions must accord with “public sentiment” or else the high court loses its legitimacy?
She likely does, unless, of course, “public sentiment” tends in a rightward direction, in which case she would certainly argue, if the Court decision leaned to the Left, that the Court had to adhere to the legal principle and not bow to popular opinion. Hey, whatever works.

I would say that legalizing same gender marriage was unconstitutional
Incidentally, since this bunch believes that judges writing law is constitutional, how is the SCOTUS ruling unconstitutional – unless ‘unconstitutional’ now means a judgement you don’t agree w/?

That’s how they see it…agree, then it’s right…disagree, then it’s wrong and ‘out of control.’

The fools are running amok at the mouth. This is just too ridiculous.
Public sentiment….this is where a lot of the churches got themselves mired in error. Like the Constitution is the country, the Bible is for those who claim Christianity as their faith.
when the attorneys argued, and the court agreed that women could murder their babies because they had some fictional ‘right’ to privacy, they went away from the Constitution and made stuff up.
When the churches began accepting as hunky-dory the argument that God doesn’t care who one “loves”….and not just any love, but *romantic* love that leads to male and male and female and female as “couples” in the same way they had always accepted male and female couples, they left the Bible and made up stuff.
Many of the churches have also gone along with this evil of women having some *right* to murder their babies.
this idiot is just trying to roll with the flow…what seems to her to be public sentiment at the time. she has kids, is homosexual and Black, so of course she can decide that the Court is wrong this time and has no legal standing to make such a decision.
The world is where satan wants it.

They tend to forget that this woman who kicked it all off, lied to the Police & other Authoritative bodies to get her way. I’ve never been involved with an Abortion & thought it was best left up to the pregnant person, , family members & Medical Personnel, within a short time frame. However, a few weeks ago on Youtube I caught this short presentation of this procedure if the baby is advanced in development. Basically, this “Gripper” is inserted & it grips & severs the limbs off . you know when you’ve got & crushed the head & crushed it as a grey, white fluid leaks out.
Truly horrific.
This has made me pro-Life & glad the Supreme court overturned Roe v Wade.
