New in PJ Media:
Yes, it seems like a joke, but Michael Starr Hopkins, who says he is an “experienced Press Secretary with a demonstrated history of working in the media industry,” is dead serious: in an op-ed in The Hill on Tuesday, Hopkins argues that Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-Would You Like An Olive?), who is already renowned for her wisdom and intellect, is the Democrats’ best hope to take on the evil Trump and prevent him from forcing another pause in their ongoing efforts to destroy the United States as a free and sovereign republic.
Yes, Hopkins is serious; so serious, in fact, that he dares to compare the winsome AOC to the light-bringer himself: “When Barack Obama came out of nowhere to win his Senate seat in 2004, it almost felt preordained,” Hopkins writes. “As if he was the person we had been waiting for to breathe fresh air into the Democratic Party. Flash forward to 2018, and the meteoric rise of a 29-year-old bartender from Queens feels eerily similar.”
Maybe Hopkins has a point. Both Obama and AOC seemed to be celebrated beyond a level that would be justified by their talents and abilities. Hopkins indulges in quite a lot of that in his op-ed, boosting his heroine in terms that would never have occurred to a rational human being. AOC has, Hopkins insists, “been unafraid, unapologetic and unwilling to bend to the will of Washington. She is a force to be reckoned with, and in 2024 Democrats are going to need her force to reckon with Republicans.” Yes, because they’ve created so many disasters with their policies, what better thing to do than get behind an avowed socialist who wants to create even more?
But AOC, Hopkins says, “is less of a personality and more of a movement.” Then he goes on to refer to her as “the smart, photogenic congresswoman.” OK, come on, now, Hopkins. Smart? Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is legendary for saying things that indicate that she isn’t all that bright. Last February, she attempted to explain away skyrocketing crime rates in New York City by saying, “The surge in violence is being driven by young people, particularly young men. And we allow the discourse to make it sound as though it’s, like, these shady figures in the bush, jumping out from a corner. These are young men. These are boys. We’re also not discussing the mental-health crisis that we are experiencing as a country as a result of the pandemic.” Ah, you see? It’s a mental health crisis, not a crime crisis.
AOC added, “The child-tax credit just ran out, on December 31st, and now people are stealing baby formula. We don’t want to have that discussion. We want to say these people are criminals or we want to talk about ‘people who are violent,’ instead of ‘environments of violence,’ and what we’re doing to either contribute to that or dismantle that.”

I am hoping that AOC does get that nomination, so that moderate Dems as well as RINOs sit out the election. Let it be b/w the 40% America-First Republicans vs the 20% Marxist Dems, instead of putting up semi-dead candidates like Biden
It will also put K-Street on the streets, since they hate both. You won’t see the Amazons bankroll either, since AOC was the one who blocked their New York headquarters, and Trump saw to it that AWS wasn’t what the government used. In fact, a Trump vs AOC would pretty much show the 🖕 to the deep state
PMK says
Careful what you wish for. You just might get it. You shouldn’t look for half the voters to stay home. That only guarantees further division. Do you really think the Marxist Dems will accept anything less than an AOC landslide?
I shudder at the thought of AOC on a national ticket. It signals the end of America.
Infidel says
Yeah, but Marxist Dems ain’t the majority of the Democrat party, or else, Bernie would have won the last primary in a landslide. Or if not he, one of the pretenders. Prof Alan Dershowitz once said that had Keith Ellison become the head of the DNC, he’d leave the party. I’m pretty sure there are enough Dems who’d do the same if AOC became the candidate. They may not go out to vote for Trump, but they’d sure sit at home

AOC is the gift that keeps on giving for the Republicans. She’s as crazy as a $2 watch, & if the Dems want to go with her as their pick that shows how desperate they have become.

So, it has come to this for the Democrats. This is why I have said that the Democratic Party needs to be no more. It is no longer a serious political party with real ideas but rather a “phenomenon” that has lost its collective mind and despises America. It is now an enemy of America and desertion from the party by those who individually have retained their mind needs to occur. There is no saving the Democratic Party of the USA. And if it continues in power it will destroy America. Yes, this bad.
Infidel says
All decent moderate Dems – I know it’s an oxymoron – should choose one of the other parties that most closely matches their views, be it Libertarians, Reform or any other party

The evil in this world is overbearing. The stupidity is driving the evil. How much more of this evil drivel can the ordinary, not stupid, not evil, person stand?
Wellington says
Good question, somehistory. Right now the world is overwhelmingly pathetic. Many individuals are sterling human beings but between Islam, Western Leftism (as exampled by the monumental fool, AOC—and her idiotic followers), traditional authoritarianism, overall ignorance, snobbishness by the “elites,” significant apathy and just rank stupidity by so many (not helped at all by inbreeding) America and the world seems right now going to Hell in a hand basket, as the 100 year-old American veteran said last month.
Mankind as a whole is pathetic, as Mark Twain observed over a century ago. I think it has become even more pathetic since his death in 1910. Two world wars, a Cold War, the revival of Islam, Russia and China never learning, socialism rearing its ugly and stupid head once again in the West, antipathy by so many to the single greatest polity ever created by man, i.e., America, et al. only confirms that we live in an even worse world than did Twain, and his world was still bad enough.

Thanks, Wellington. It’s wearing me down to the nub.
this woman is an idiot, a loudmouth, ugly if I may write that, and over-all, obnoxious. How anyone besides her could decide she had something to offer the public, is just plain stupid, and with her intent, just plain evil.

Or just maybe she has undiagnosed hyperthyroidism…

A.O.C. goes from bartender to Presidential candidate, only in America. What a great country that offers that kind of opportunity to anyone with the ambition to try. Can’t say I would ever vote for her, but I appreciate a system of government that allows anyone the opportunity to run for the highest political office in the land. Hey even old criters like Biden can become President. Let’s pick a real good one this next election before the migration invasion takes over elections.
