This is an excellent example of how the term “Islamophobia” is used to refer not just to attacks on innocent Muslims, which are never justified, but also to any efforts to stop or oppose jihad activity.
“Muslim influencers, activists cry ‘Muslims under threat’ after radical org PFI, which teaches bomb-making to cadres, is banned,” OpIndia, September 28, 2022:
Like clockwork, prominent Muslim influencers, activists and other assorted rabble-rousers descended upon Twitter to cry ‘Muslims under threat’ after the radical organisation, Popular Front of India (PFI) and its associate organisations which have been linked to various terror activities across India were banned for a period of five years. Other than perpetrating terror activities on Indian soil, these Islamist organisations also wanted to establish an Islamic caliphate in India by 2047.
Amongst the prominent voices was Arif Ayyub, brother of financial fraud accused Washington Post columnist Rana Ayyub.
After the ban of radical organisation, Ayyub pondered about lower representation of Muslims in parliament and state governments and then asked what choices are Muslims in India left with.
This crackdown on radicalisation was taken too personally by Ayyub who tagged PM Modi and HM Shah and said that the ‘Muslim problem’ is not going away.
This, after he even claimed that the radical outfit which is publishing jihadi literature and carrying out terror attacks does not represent him, a Muslim man. If radical outfits like PFI do not represent him, then why not welcome a move that cracks down on organisations which are radicalising youth of their community with specific intention to carry out atrocities including murders of Hindus.
One Samiullah Khan who identifies himself as journalist branded PFI as a ‘community NGO’. A ‘community NGO’ that imparts bomb-making knowledge to its cadres. Of course.
He also called ban on PFI as ‘Islamophobia’.
Many Muslim social media users also claimed that the PFI crackdown is in name of ‘so called terrorism’ and it is used to suppress voice of Muslims in India.
Some even quoted Islamic scriptures while extending support to the radical outfit….

Indian authorities should do all they can to get this publicized to show that mozlums are out to destroy their country…and will use any and all weapons, lies, lies, and more lies, as well as the threats and abductions, and murders of innocent people to get their terrorists in place to do carry out the destruction.

Reading the news from there, looks like that was an operation long in planning, even while Hindus were restive at the apparent inaction of the government. Of course, there is the argument that banning the PFI won’t solve anything, since they’ll simply resurface under another name
But one thing is obvious – the BJP had been losing ground in opinion polls due to all these murders and other increased aggression on the part of the muslims, and so now their Home Minister Amit Shah has been given a free hand to crack down. But India badly needs to implement the NPR and take a good look at what’s happening on their Nepal and Bangladesh borders if they want to really tackle this, rather than let it fester so that Hindus always feel threatened by muslims and vote BJP just to keep themselves safe, when actually it wouldn’t be happening

Infidel,
It is true that islam is rearing its ugly head once again after a hiatus of major activity for some time now. But people in India are visibly rattled unlike West where nothing comes out of the public if there is any semblance of resistance or anything. A case in point is: There was a public outcry for banning madrasas when the tailor Kanaiyalal was butchered for islam in Rajasthan during a procession.
I would not delve with the electoral strategies of BJP viz a viz the ever-boiling Islamic terror. If the Left-centered Congress had been in power India would have been much worse off today. Kashmir files would have never seen the light of the day.

I do agree that India has been far better off under the BJP than it ever was in the preceding 65 years. That said, if Hindus are finding themselves hunted w/ impunity within India, whether it’s Hindu girls being trafficked by muslims, Hindu guys being hunted down for myriad reasons and so on, they are right to question the prime minister on this. There are BJP apologists who insist that not responding to jihadi terror acts or threats is a masterstroke of the Indian leadership, and moments like this week’s ban seem to vindicate them, but for people who get killed or lose family members, that’s small consolation
I remain of the opinion that there needs to be another Hindu party there to challenge the BJP whenever it is not aggressive against jihadi attacks, if only to keep the BJP honest in the best case, and actually take over the government in the worst
