Hadash-Ta’al parties make up the Arab Joint List in the Knesset. It is bizarre that an Arab party that has members who do not fully support the existence of Israel and its right to defend itself could possibly be in the Knesset at all.
This week, a Joint List member of the Knesset, Aida Touma-Sliman, referenced five slain members of a Palestinian jihad group as “martyrs” and called their “resistance” a response to “the occupation.” As expected, there was no reported outcry among Joint List members in response to Touma-Sliman, because they agree with what she said. Prime Minister Yair Lapid then reiterated that the Hadash-Ta’al party “will not be part of any future coalition he could establish after the elections.”
This isn’t the first time that a Joint List member has overtly displayed support for jihad terror. In July, Joint List leader Ayman Odeh refused to condemn Hezbollah and denounced Israel as the “chief source of terrorism in the region.” Although Lapid declined to brand the party “supporters of terror,” the ideologies and goals of the Joint List clearly do not align with Israel’s best interests.
Putting aside the fact that the Palestinian Legislative Council’s (PLC) activities have been suspended since 2007, one cannot imagine an Israeli — even an Israeli who supports the Palestinian Authority’s vision — being permitted to sit in the PLC. It is outrageous that the Joint List was ever allowed to sit in the Knesset in the first place, given its principles. Right-wing members of the Knesset have long opposed cooperation with the Joint List, yet in May, coalition officials stated that even more cooperation with the Joint List was on the way. It is no secret that the Palestinian mission is to obliterate Israel from the Jordan River to Mediterranean Sea, as documented in the founding Charters of the major Palestinian organizations and routinely indoctrinated into its population, including children. Lapid is correct and prudent to announce that the Hadash-Ta’al will not be part of his coalition. The Joint List is treasonous.

In an interview with Channel 12, Lapid condemns Joint List MK Aida Touma-Sliman for referring to five slain members of a Palestinian terror group as “martyrs” and asserting that their “resistance” was a response to “the occupation.”
Lapid says this is another example of why Hadash-Ta’al, two of the three parties that currently make up the Joint List, will not be in any future government of his.
Lapid declines to bran the party “supporters of terror” and also refuses to rule out getting outside support from the party to set up a government.
