Wolverson said he asked her to remove her veil because he found it difficult to understand what she was saying. And it’s certainly true that there are many longtime migrants in Britain who still can’t speak the language. It’s also true that British officialdom is terrified beyond measure of offending the nation’s Muslim community. That’s likely the foundation of this ruling against Dr. Wolverson.
“Doctor who told married Muslim woman to remove veil handed nine-month suspension,” by Hayley Parker and Annabal Bagdi, Birmingham Mail, October 26, 2022:
A doctor who asked a Muslim woman to remove her veil three times has been suspended. Dr Keith Wolverson has been banned from working for nine months after a misconduct panel found his actions were ‘deplorable’.
The medic, who has been a doctor for more than 25 years, committed a string of acts which amounted to misconduct while working in Staffordshire and Derby. It included asking the married woman to remove her face covering, while the doctor went on to criticise the English speaking skills of 15 of his patients….
It comes after Dr Wolverson, 56, was found guilty of or admitted to a total of 17 charges of misconduct during a hearing held by the Medical Practitioner Tribunal Service (MPTS), StokeonTrentLive reports. The doctor said: “I’m going to appeal against this. I feel very sad for the public, because it would mean a further shortage for the NHS when it is extremely stressed.
“It’s all very sad because I don’t think this is what the public want – let the public decide. What would they rather have, a doctor with 26 years of experience to see them, or a doctor removed from the medical register for nine months? It’s not about me trying to belittle an ethnic group, or be prejudicial against anyone of any cultural background, it’s all about clarity of communication.
“I think this is something people are frightened to talk about now, and I think this is a big problem, and we don’t talk about these things and they get misconstrued.” At a hearing earlier this year, Dr Wolverson – who qualified as a medical professional in 1996 – was found guilty of or admitted to a combined 17 of a total 28 charges of misconduct.
Some of the charges – all of which date from January to May, 2018 – related to his work at the Royal Stoke, both as a locum, or temporary doctor, and at Derby Urgent Care Centre. One incident saw him repeat a request to a Muslim woman, named as Mrs Q, to take off her veil three times during a consultation on May 13, 2018….
“I don’t ask people to remove their veils anymore. But, I sometimes find it really difficult to consult with people or hold a conversation with them when part of their face is covered….

He is a doctor ,he has a legal and professional duty to communicate with his patients .If that requires the removing of her head rag in the privacy of his office with just him and her in it so be it. These Moslems are like children ,I go for a prostate exam every 6 months because cancer runs in my family the doctor does more then ask me to remove a head cover in the privacy of his office he is a doctor it is his job to get the most information to protect his patients health.

Its worse when the doc is muslim, though there are others who have such strong accents, that it should not be allowed that if they cannot speak English in an understandable accent, they should not be seeing the real UK citizens, as it is plainly dangerous to not be understood whilst discussing health matters, yet we are subjected to this potentially dangerous situation in doctors, nurses and dentists being non understandable just for diversity. South African can also be hard to piece together, and to be fair it would be just the same if English folk take a job in another country, then the locals will not be always able to understand us with our “strong accent”. A mask worsens this problem. For both people.

prostrate sorry typo

wpm,
I think you were right the first time. The word ‘prostrate’ means to lie face down on the ground.
࿗Infidel࿘ says
Why don’t they just make Urdu a pre-requisite for anyone wanting to become a doctor in Britain?
wpm says
A better solution is the Moslems could go back to their “homelands” Live by the backward islamic cultural and laws that lead to a short lifespan spend in tribal conflict and early death bought on by common disease from profound poverty and ignorance. That would be a solution if they will not except western law and cultural ,they are not noble savages they are just savages that refuse to be civilized.

Well said, wpm. And a good summary of life for people who live in shitty, backward, primitive Muslim countries. Totally agree, there is nothing noble to be found anywhere in islam, just primitive, vicious crap.
࿗Infidel࿘ says
Yeah, but they’re not going to do that b’cos that would be ‘islamophobic’, so I’m suggesting the next alternative – convert Brits into Pakis. At least, that way all the citizens can know what they are in for, from childhood to death

Yes, with Unani system for ailments

That system itself is a rip off of Hindu and Greek medicine.

All of these ‘offenses’ occurred in 2018. What did UK doctors do during the pandemic when many people were wearing face masks?
If the woman can’t communicate with her male doctor, then maybe she shouldn’t get health care at all. What if she has a respiratory condition and the doctor needs to check her throat?
Alkflaeda says
Doctors are accustomed to communicating with people in face masks – they have to do it in Theatre, and when sterile procedures are being done. Which logically means that the communication problem with the lady in the veil must, in fact, have been worse than hearing someone speak through a face mask.
There are ways round this problem, without disciplining people. I would have thought that a female patient who was concerned about modesty would have had a chaperone (though of course that person could have been veiled as well). And the words “pen and pad” come to mind.
Jedothek says
“The hearing was told Dr Wolverson made several inappropriate comments about his patients’ communication skills and noted in medical records ‘they need to learn better English’. It was also alleged that during an interview with a senior colleague Dr Wolverson said he ‘shouldn’t have to see patients who can’t speak English’.”
Yet another example of how the present taboo on saying things related to reality may produce serious consequences. I can almost guarantee that right now poor communication between a physician and a patient is causing bad diagnosis and therefore bad treatment. By not allowing physicians to point this out (and therefore perhaps to find a doctor who can communicate with the patient) we are endangering the health of the patients.

The elites in UK are making a point to its citizens and to the world that globalization, multi-culture are sacrostant words/treatise. No one should dare doubt that or question that, not even folks in JW.
Little, do those nincompoops realize that US was/is a great nation because there was rule of law and all were supposed to be equal. As long as you fear or appease one group over another you can never be great ..
James Lincoln says
Royal Stoke and Derby Urgent Care Centre both need to develop consent forms for muslima patients to sign:
1. Adressing the requirement for removing veils as they may inhibit proper communication.
2. Stating that a female standby will be present at all times during the office visit for documentation.
This should be clinic policy.
The forms should also state:
Muslimas will not be seen without a signed consent form.

From themselves (the muslimas) or from their mahrams? 😈
Walter Sieruk says
How abused , he can’t give her any kind of medical treatment ,as in help in any illness above her neck if she doesn’t remove her veil.
This further shows the strong influence of stealth jihadist in the United Kingdom.

Sharia UK: Doctor who told Muslim woman to remove her veil gets nine-month suspension
………………………..
This is nuts. There are many examinations that cannot be properly done trying to work around a head and face veil.
Aum says
This is so wrong.
Our government needs to ban veils in public places – period.

So Muhammad and Ali are sitting in their local Coffee Cafe in London when Ali tells his old friend that he is not feeling well and so Muhammad tells him to go off to the Hospital and speak with the Doctor there, so the next day Ali goes off to visit the Doctor…… The Doctor does some major examinations on Ali but finds nothing wrong with him and so Ali goes back and tells his friend this news, but Muhammad tells Ali to get a second opinion and so the next day Ali goes to another Doctor and tells him how bad he is feeling and again the Doctor does all kinds of tests and finds nothing wrong with him and Ali goes back and tells his friend the results again…
Ah to hell with these infidel Doctors says Muhammad, now go off to one of our own kind, a good muslim Doctor, and so Ali goes off to find a muslim Doctor and tells him just how bad he is feeling, the Doctor does all the usual tests and finds nothing wrong with him, however he has one last test and so he asks Ali to follow him outside into the Alley behind his Clinic and has Ali kneel down over this huge bucket full of urine, feces, vomit, dried dog poo, and it stinks to high heaven, the Doctor pulls a large shawl over the head of Ali and tells him to stay there for 30 minutes and then he can stand up again…After 30 minutes the Doctor comes back pulls the shawl off and tells Ali to stand up and tell him hwo he feels now….Ali stands up with a huge smile on his face, I feel wonderful Doctor, just wonderful, but what was wrong with me Doctor… The Doctor looks at him with a smile… Homesick Ali, you were just homesick..

Dr Wolverson was bullying the woman- and degrading her. I am a doctor and there are work-arounds for anyone who takes a half minute to figure it out.
gravenimage says
The claim that doctors can examine patients through baggy clothing is simply incorrect. No proper examination can be carried out under such circumstances.
Ari Dale says
Not so. If he wanted to examine her throat, he could have explained to her and asked her to lift just enough of the veil to allow him to look with his light.
