The death penalty for apostasy is part of Islamic law. It’s based on the Qur’an: “They wish you would disbelieve as they disbelieved so you would be alike. So do not take from among them allies until they emigrate for the cause of Allah. But if they turn away, then seize them and kill them wherever you find them and take not from among them any ally or helper.” (Qur’an 4:89)
A hadith depicts Muhammad saying: “Whoever changed his Islamic religion, then kill him” (Bukhari 9.84.57). The death penalty for apostasy is part of Islamic law according to all the schools of Islamic jurisprudence.
This is still the position of all the schools of Islamic jurisprudence, both Sunni and Shi’ite. The late Sheikh Yusuf al-Qaradawi, who was once the most renowned and prominent Muslim cleric in the world, stated: “The Muslim jurists are unanimous that apostates must be punished, yet they differ as to determining the kind of punishment to be inflicted upon them. The majority of them, including the four main schools of jurisprudence (Hanafi, Maliki, Shafi’i, and Hanbali) as well as the other four schools of jurisprudence (the four Shiite schools of Az-Zaidiyyah, Al-Ithna-‘ashriyyah, Al-Ja’fariyyah, and Az-Zaheriyyah) agree that apostates must be executed.”
Qaradawi also once famously said: “If they had gotten rid of the apostasy punishment, Islam wouldn’t exist today.”
“Young Woman in Uganda Killed after Accepting Christ,” Morning Star News, September 29, 2022:
NAIROBI, Kenya (Morning Star News) – A 23-year-old Muslim woman in eastern Uganda who converted to Christianity on Sept. 18 was poisoned to death that night, sources said.
Namata Habiiba attended a church service on Sept. 18 at the invitation of a friend in Wakawaka village, Bugiri District and put her faith in Christ, the friend said.
Habiiba, who lived with her Muslim stepmother after her parents were killed in a vehicle accident in 2019, returned home from the church service with her friend, and her stepmother asked why she had returned so late. Habiiba told her she had attended a church service and converted to Christianity, causing her stepmother, Namu Sauya, to stop talking to her, according to the friend, whose name is withheld for security reasons.
Sauya prepared and served food for them and then left the room, said the friend, who was fasting that day and did not eat. Within minutes, Habiiba started complaining of severe stomach pain and began to vomit, the friend said.
The friend shouted for Sauya, but there was no response, she said. Soon neighbors arrived, but Sauya had disappeared, Habiiba’s friend said.
They rushed Habiiba to a hospital in Bugiri, where a doctor gave her medication, but she soon died, the friend said. A postmortem, she said, determined she had died from ingesting rat poison.
Habiiba leaves behind a 3-year-old child, an area resident said. The father is a married Muslim who had planned to take her as his second wife, the source said….

mozlums such as this ghoul, are children of satan the devil. what she did is what satan desires to be done to those who refuse to bow to him in slavery to his demonic evil.
The authorities should find her and put her to death. She’s worse than any rat, and deserves what she dished out to the young mother.
The young woman’s child will probably go to the mozlum male who fathered the baby. That’s horrible, too.

You are probably right about the poor child, Somehistory.

Somehistory,
It is really galling to know that islam is continuing to have a free run and world is complicit with islam and the Islamic world. The hijab episode though a bright spot is not addressing the core issue of islam, that of being anti-human, anti-peace etc. Need one any evidence that Satan is the king of the world as exemplified by islam?
Three times Jesus referred to Satan as “the ruler of this world” (John 12:31; 14:30; 16:11). Other passages of Scripture call Satan “the god of this world” (2 Cor 4:4) The scriptures have always been perfect…
somehistory says
Yes, Raja. satan offered Jesus “all the kingdoms of the world “if Jesus would bow down and do “one act of worship” to that demon snake. Jesus refused; but He never challenged satan on the control satan had over those kingdoms. Had satan not had control, that was the perfect time for Jesus to say he couldn’t offer something that he didn’t own.
It is nearing the time for Judgment and the abyssing of satan that was foretold so very long ago.

If only the earth could open up and swallow all the Muslims, we’d all be better off. Meanwhile we have Leftists and politicians bending over backwards to please these vicious, psychotic barbarians.
You know what’d be great, if Putin actually went after bad people. I wish he declared war on Islam, but they’re buddies, which makes sense that fascists would unite.
Wellington says
Interesting and fitting, Fitna, that you mentioned in your brief but on-point comment all three of the greatest menaces now confronting humanity, i.e., Islam, Western Leftism and your standard authoritarianism as evidenced by that decrepit man, one Putin by name.
There is only one efficacious and sound way for mankind to proceed and that is the following: 1) democracy; 2) capitalism; 3) a decent moral code; and 4) an impartial and eminently fair legal system. Unfortunately, much of mankind hasn’t figured this out by now. The problem is not in the theory but rather in not comprehending, and thereafter implementing—for whatever indefensible reason or reasons—these four factors. If all four are present any polity can succeed. If even one is absent, let alone more than one, then mankind will suffer precisely to the extent of this absence. I submit (in no way meant in an Islamic way) that this is a given.
Ah, too bad mankind remains largely in ignorant mode (or control-freak mode or both). Damn. What a waste.
Fitna says
Thanks Wellington, agreed and well said.
The trouble is that we have different competing classes pushing for their own interests and all are trying to get their hands on power to push their agenda.
And for some groups like Leftists, rather than seeing Muslims as an evil entity, they view them as useful or as allies, to take down the capitalist system.
Democracy can also be manipulated by the devious as well, so we don’t get the people we want in power. But then we also have leaders who lie, make false promises, like ending illegal immigration but then renege or do the exact opposite.
In time people can get a bit smarter and vote for groups or individuals who are genuine and will stick to their promises, like the Sweden Democrats for example-if they’re allowed to have influence in their new gov’t.
As for morality, I think it should always be founded on the idea of freedom (not trampling on other people’s rights) and avoiding causing harm to others, rather than deferring to ancient books and ideologies.
For example both the Quran and Bible condone slavery and teach stoning of adulterers and killing your daughters if they’re not virgins. Fortunately Christians don’t actually follow these beliefs or they’d be as bad as the Muslims.
Those are awful, evil teachings that should never be in any holy book, but there they are, because these so-called morals were invented by men from the Bronze Age who saw females as their chattel. No imagined God had anything to do with it.
So in that case we’d take the daughter’s right to life as fundamental and nobody should be permitted to harm her whether or not she’s a virgin.
If we want to have a more evolved, modern, civilized morality and laws based on freedom, equality and respect for all, then we should start by discarding all religious books and work from a clean slate.
Until I see some God float down from the sky in his ‘cloud-car’ carrying a book full of his “do’s and don’t”, I dismiss all man-made books claiming to be from this supposed Creator.
Even then if that God appears (but he never has because we invented him, not the other way), I’ll evaluate those rules to see if they harm others…maybe this God is a tyrant like Saddam Hussein who enjoys torturing others, in which case I wouldn’t follow him.
I realize I might be ruffling some feathers of some religious people here, but I think they can see with their own eyes the harm that religion does and so my points should be reasonable to them.
The best way we humans can solve our problems is by talking about them. Not through censorship, not through authoritarianism or force, but by using reason and being able to admit when we are wrong.
We also have to face the reality that some ideologies are so dangerous, toxic and harmful, like Islam that they must be eliminated by using any means necessary. Some people cannot be talked out of their evil beliefs so they need to be dealt with by other means.
We only have this one planet, which is a gift of nature for us. We can either use up all our resources and destroy this world through greed and warfare or we can find ways to live in harmony with it and each other.
Some people are deluded by the idea of an afterlife…even though there is absolutely no evidence of such a place, so they care nothing of the real world we live in because they think a better one is coming. That’s really awful thinking because then they won’t care for and work to preserve the one we already have. This kind of deranged thinking must end.

From a devout Christian, I learn a great deal from your posts.
I may not agree with everything, but I do learn…
Fitna says
That’s great to know James and thanks.
Often times I feel what I say might be stating the obvious or something most people might already be aware of.
But I’m glad to hear that I do continue to provide another perspective or insight that maybe others haven’t considered. I also appreciate that you keep an open mind to differing views.
In most cases there are right and wrong answers. For instance, honor-killing is clearly wrong, most sane people will concur.
Except Muslims and some other religious fanatics who care nothing about causing pain and suffering to others-they think they’re following the will of god (so they don’t care who gets hurt in the process) and that’s what make some religions so harmful.
The question of gods, angels, demons, heavens/hells, also have a clear right and wrong answer. It’s just that most people who happen to be religious don’t apply the same rules of logic as they do to everything else, to their own religions.
If they did, they’d realize the answers are pretty straightforward. These are all concepts invented in the human mind and they have never once ever been proven.
Since there is no proof for any of these ideas/beliefs, they are ‘lies’ and it’s a huge mistake to build a moral code and ‘weltanschauung’ (world view) on these fictions that are man-made. That’s how we have ended up with the world we see today.
That’s not to say secular-empiricist thinkers and humanists don’t make mistakes, we are human and therefore flawed. But they are at least not compounding their errors by thinking there are imaginary sky beings who want us to behave in certain ways.
If there was a real god, he/she/it would’ve made its presence aware to us by now. Certainly it wouldn’t be afraid of humans. It’d also make sense for it to show up and tell us which holy book or religion is the right one or declare they’re all false.
Since no gods ever appeared to us (except the mentally ill), it’s quite obvious they’re man-made creations and our religions are really just myths and fables that don’t deserve to be treated on the same level as science or other empirically based fields.
On a personal note, I left Christianity at around the age of 13. I’ve always been logical minded and I objective put Christianity to the test and saw that it failed on many levels.
My prayers were never answered, no god ever spoke to me, even though the church claimed he would. I found a ton of contradictions in the Bible and also saw that science just provided far better (non-childish) answers about the world. It’s also pretty obvious that the Bible stories are infantile myths, like the Adam and Even story, talking snakes/donkeys, living in whales, etc.
So eventually it became pretty clear that I was brainwashed into this ideology by my parents and had to get myself ‘debrainwashed’ and it was one of the best decisions I made since I saw the world as it is, not through the illusory lens of religion. Once you rid yourself of that ideological prison, you feel whole and liberated.

Fitna,
Good comments from your end. It is funny when you think about Putin. Islamists think that they are using Putin in attaining their goal of global ummah blah blah. And Putin thinks that he is using islam to further his global or national goals though islam has been punching deep holes in Chechnya and other parts of the world. I wonder when these “world leaders” will be exasperated with islam !
Fitna says
Thanks Raja,
Indeed both think they’re using the other to fulfill their goal. However as is often the case in history, Muslims are more aggressive, so once they see an advantage, they’ll break the alliance and turn on their ‘infidel masters.’
Putin also has a massive Muslim population and should they all decide to declare jihad on Russia, it would be disastrous for that country. For now they share common goals/interests so they’ll have an unsteady peace with each other until one side no longer needs the other.
By extension maybe you’re right, perhaps ‘world leaders’ see Muslims as useful to achieve whatever nefarious goals they have, which is why they are hesitant to go after them for rape/terrorism and deport.

Bitterly fitting since Islam itself is a poison of many dimensions.

Uganda: Young Muslim woman becomes Christian, Muslim stepmother kills her with poison
…………………………………
This *poor young woman*. How many of these hideous “Honor Killings” have we heard of just in Uganda–which is not even a Muslim country?
Fitna says
Indeed Graven, makes you wonder how many innocent girls and women were honor-killed by Islam since this death cult was invented? I’d bet tens if not hundreds of millions.
The world continues to ignore this evil machine of mass murder-one day they will come for us all and we’ll regret not dealing with it sooner.
