Pakistan and other developing countries have been pushing for “climate reparations” at the upcoming international climate conference in Egypt, not just from the UK, but from all the wealthier nations of the West. As reported by the Associated Press, the drive for climate compensation has been further driven by Pakistan’s damaging floods.
Pakistan is being brazenly entitled. No one owes Pakistan anything. And after initially appearing to support the idea, UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has backed off from it. Leftists are complaining that his new stance is a “blow to vulnerable states.”
Despite this positive turnaround, Sunak still buys into the climate change hoax. Although he made “no reference to the topic” of “climate reparations,” he recommitted “a 2020 pledge of £11.6bn for climate funding over five years and tripling to £1.5bn the UK’s contribution towards measures to boost resilience against future disasters.”
While green climate change fanatics find themselves short on energy to the point of desperation in their respective countries since the Russian-Ukraine war, the UN chief continues to scream that the sky is falling, and relentlessly promotes the green agenda. The Independent recently published an illuminating article about his climate advocacy: ‘Highway to climate hell’: UN chief warns world losing battle against warming.
The climate change hoax is nothing more than a reorganization of the world’s economy in line with a Marxist model; it is being pushed hard now by the World Economic Forum. But such plans began long ago under the Kyoto Protocol, which targeted wealthier industrialized countries to limit or reduce their emissions. Under it, a game of “carbon credits” was played, in which developing countries “earned” carbon credits that they could trade or even sell to developed countries. In other words, this was a method to suck money from richer countries. With the advance of the green movement, “climate reparations” is now the term that is being used to penalize the West.
Taxpayer money from citizens of the UK and other Western countries should not even be considered in discussing “climate reparations” for Pakistan and other Third World countries, especially given Pakistan’s own polluting habits. In addition, Pakistan is a state funder of jihad violence. And two months ago, it urged the world to “engage with the Taliban.”
Sunak is being watched closely as the UK’s new prime minister, and he already faces pressure from Islamic supremacist groups and individuals, who likely support the idea of dhimmi money being sent off to Pakistan.
“PM Sunak Opens Door to Climate ‘Reparations’ for Pakistan and Other Third World Govts,” by Jack Montgomery, Breitbart,
Prime Minister Rishi Sunak’s government has signalled it is open to discussing climate “reparations” for the likes of Pakistan, as he prepares tax hikes and public service cuts at home in the name of fiscal responsibility.
The Islamic Republic of Pakistan is leading a bloc of countries demanding climate change “reparations” from the West, despite their own less than environmentally friendly behaviour, and British business secretary Grant Shapps MP said the Sunak administration was “accepting the principle there’s a discussion to be had about this” at the COP27 United Nations Climate Change Conference in Egypt, according to The Times.
“We industrialised first and we appreciate the rest of the world needs to be able to bring themselves along as well,” Shapps added, indicating that the Sunak administration is happy to continue the status quo in which China and other non-Western nations can continue to burn coal and enjoy relatively cheap energy while the likes of Britain cripple their industries with anti-carbon policies.
The Telegraph, which is close to Britain’s government Conservative Party, reports that Sunak has already committed to pledging £65.5 million to support green initiatives in the Third World, and will tell COP27 — which he initially said he would skip in order to focus on domestic crises — that “we can turn our struggle against climate change into a global mission for new jobs and clean growth.”…….
“Blow to vulnerable states as Rishi Sunak shuns calls for climate reparations,” by Saphora Smith and Andrew Woodcock, Independent, November 8, 2022:
Rishi Sunak has dealt a blow to the developing countries hardest-hit by climate change by shunning appeals for the UK to contribute towards reparations for the natural disasters caused by hundreds of years of industrial pollution.
Thirty-year-old demands for a fund to pay for the permanent loss and damage caused by extreme weather were discussed for the first time on the floor of the Cop27 climate change conference in Egypt, with calls for the UK and other rich nations to join Belgium, Denmark and Scotland in committing cash.
But the prime minister made no reference to the topic in his five-minute speech in the resort city of Sharm el-Sheikh, instead recommitting to a 2020 pledge of £11.6bn for climate funding over five years and tripling to £1.5bn the UK’s contribution towards measures to boost resilience against future disasters.
Handing over the presidency of the United Nations climate change process following last year’s UK-hosted summit in Glasgow, Mr Sunak insisted there was “room for hope” if the struggle against climate change becomes “a global mission for new jobs and clean growth” though renewable energy.

Let the rich Muslim Countries help their Brothers in Pakistan.
Fitna says
Exactly Golem, we need to divest from all Islamic states as much as possible. More importantly we need to stop all Muslim immigration and turn it into remigration (send them back).
There will probably be some business that’s necessary until we are oil-independent for example, but time to cut them loose, they’re more trouble than they’re worth.

“…he recommitted “a 2020 pledge of £11.6bn for climate funding over five years and tripling to £1.5bn the UK’s contribution towards measures to boost resilience against future disasters.”
No kidding. Sounds like a joke.
Why not send talking head Green Mascot Greta Thunberg on a one way ticket to Islamabad. They could have a talk on shutting down power plants, raising energy prices and burning wood more effectively in a stone oven. Or even learning how to eat raw food to reduce CO2.
Wellington says
What makes all this into a total farce is that no hard scientific evidence exists that the climate has been irreparably harmed by man’s use of fossil fuels. CO2, which is not a poison but food for plants, is presently at around .04% of the entire atmosphere. Some two hundred years ago it was around .03% and at times in Earth’s history it has been as high as .8%. So, now some 400 parts per million, two hundred years ago some 300 parts per million and in Earth’s history sometimes at high as 8,000 parts per million. So what? And the slight increase over the last two centuries may very well have nothing to do with man but with natural variations due to such factors as ocean currents, solar activity and polar realignment.
It is stunning when one looks into all of this that all that exists for the man-made climate change nonsense are computer model projections and correlation studies. Neither constitutes scientific evidence and each has a simply horrible track record for accuracy. And let’s not forget that back in the 1970’s it was a global cooling scare. Yes, by 2000 there would be mass starvation because of freezing temperatures destroying crops across the world. Wrong then. Wrong now.
One of the foremost atmospheric physicists in the world, if not THE foremost atmospheric physicist, Richard Lindzen, has called man-made climate claims “absurd.” Of course for this he has been demonized by the powers that be, rather as Robert Spencer has been demonized for telling the truth about Islam. Same old same old.

Climate change is not the issue, it’s a manufactured crisis. With the “global elite” the issue is “never” the issue, it’s the narrative that matters. And, we shouldn’t look at the “climate change” issue as a stand-alone issue with the “global elite,” it’s part of their overall strategy to bring about their “New World Order,” their “One World Government” with their “One World” leader.
This video, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fuTzaCd_Suo – with former Prince Charlie, now, King Charlie III, is total bullsh…
It’s a little over 7 minutes in length and worth listening to. Notice what he says between the 2:35 and 3:00 mark.
Who is the “he” that then, Prince Charlie is referring to? A “One World Leader?” As I have said on prior post, the “global elite” are playing 3D Chess while the rest of the world is tying to play checkers.
“The coming of the lawless one is by the activity of Satan with all power and false signs and wonders and with all wicked deception for those who are perishing, because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. Therefore God sends them a strong delusion, so that they may believe what is false, In order that all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.”

Bingo.
I never thought about it quite that way…

This is good news. I have been watching Mark Steyn for the last few months and he has been discussing Cop27 and Sunak being willing to pay Pakistan trillions b’cos climate change. One letter to Mark pointed out that Pakistan should first pay for all the rapes that have been happening for decades to English girls, and then Britain could think about it. I’m glad that Sunak is showing some sense at least: after initially refusing to attend this Sharm el Sheikh (or Sharm el Sheikhdown as Mark calls it), he decided to attend it after all
Mark has been predicting that this may be the last ever Tory government, and after that, the Tory party might experience what happened to the Canadian Conservatives in 1993 when they were reduced to 2 seats. Unfortunately, I don’t see any Right wing party that has it right on even most issues. And except For Britain and Britain First, all of them refuse to tackle islam

I’m sure that for ages the western nations of the world have been giving money to backward, poverty stricken countries in order to help out, and also individuals, including myself, give to charities which help out people in poor countries, but, apparently, from this scam by the hopeless backward, often totally corrupt, countries, this isn’t enough so now they are trying this scam at COP and telling the countries which have made progress and become wealthy (oh, the horror) that they have to send more money to these hopeless countries, which can’t get out of their own way and make progress towards becoming wealthy. I think this scam is a load of bullshit, but as stupidity is so common these days, I can see the virtue signallers who rule in western countries actually agreeing to this bullshit. In the end, western countries are going end up turning themselves into third world countries and the citizens of those countries will live in poverty. Backward, primitive Muslim countries such as Pakistan deserve to be basket cases. They won’t ditch islam, get out of their own way, and make progress towards a better life. Ditto for many other countries who need to fix their own problems and stop trying scams like this COP thing. I agree with Infidel’s point about Pakistan paying compensation to the UK for all those young girls raped by pakistanis.

Not being expert on climate change (to say the least) I don’t know what to make of all of this. To be on the safe side I recycle what I can and don’t eat beans.
I don’t know when “global warming” became “climate change” but we had our coldest winter on record on the Canadian prairies in 2021-22 and people were out with their aerosol tins trying to shoot holes in the ozone layer.
Seriously though, I believe it may be a misnomer to refer to Pakistan as a “developing” country. Developing from what into what”? It appears to be an “undeveloped” country with little interest in doing anything other than cause mayhem. What else is it in the process of deveoping?
Help in the form of aid from the wealthier countries should be reserved for peaceful countries which have demonstrated a serious effort to be a “developing” country.
