Globalists are dismantling Western democracies from within via reckless immigration policies and concerted efforts to break down the cornerstone of free societies, the freedom of speech. European Union globalists are now snarling over the prospect of Elon Musk restoring the freedom of speech on Twitter.
As Robert Spencer states:
The authoritarians are in charge now, and they are continuing their self-appointed role as the guardians of what you may and may not see and hear. Elon Musk, with his commitment to the freedom of speech, which is the foundation of any free society, has them frightened and enraged.
The pressure on Musk will continue to escalate, as Musk will face increasing pressure to combat “misinformation.” Globalists routinely classify anything they disagree with as “misinformation” and then proceed to smear and ruthlessly savage their opponents as alleged spreaders of that misinformation. The concept of “hate speech” is likewise broad and subjective, and as it acts against it, the EU has failed to confront the purveyors of the jihad doctrine, both online and offline.
Already,
The Telsa CEO vowed to follow the “Christchurch Call” to action to eliminate violent hate speech — days after videos of Christchurch massacres were posted on Twitter.
How about establishing a Christian Persecution Call, or the Pay For Slay Call, as the death tallies of Christians and Jews are constantly increasing?
Days ago, the EU warned Musk that Twitter will face a ban over content moderation. Should Musk not comply with the EU’s demands, he will face the same punishments, hostility and venom that have silenced many freedom fighters who oppose Islamic supremacism and the Marxist ideology.
Macron also discussed Tesla with Musk, as the two planned the marketing of “electric vehicles and battery gigafactories.” Tesla is in the process of finding a site for its European battery gigafactory, which could place Musk at the mercy of the EU.
“French President Macron Warns Elon Musk That Twitter Must Heed EU Rules Against Lies, Hate,” by Mary Papenfuss, Huffington Post, December 3, 2022:
French President Emmanuel Macron read the riot act to Elon Musk on Friday, warning that the Twitter CEO must follow European Union regulations prohibiting misinformation and terrorist hate speech online if he plans to keep the social media platform operating across the sea.
“Transparent user policies, significant reinforcement of content moderation and protection of freedom of speech: Efforts have to be made by Twitter to comply with European regulations,” Macron said, adding that he informed Musk in a “clear and honest discussion.”
Musk’s dramatic Twitter policy changes allowing misinformation and hate speech are “a big issue,” Macron said Thursday in an interview on “Good Morning America.”
“Free speech and democracy is based on respect and public order. You can demonstrate, you can have free speech, you can write what you want, but there are responsibilities and limits,” Macron added.
Twitter’s already in trouble in Europe following Musk’s decision to allow potentially health- and life-threatening COVID misinformation to be spread on the platform.
European Union Internal Market Commissioner Thierry Breton has warned that Twitter risks serious sanctions if Musk refuses to comply with requirements that the company moderate content and tackle disinformation. “In Europe, the bird will fly by our rules,” he warned in a tweet after Musk took over Twitter…….

If the EU wants to ban Twitter, my first reaction was: go ahead. I dare you. The EU will simply be proving how anti-freedom globalists are. Freedom of speech is already dead in most of these countries, anyway.

Just emailed my MP to suggest that the UK should approach Elon Musk with a view to his siting his new factory here, rather than his having to kow-tow to Macron and his Eurocrats, and toe the line on Twitter in return for the great privilege of being allowed to provide jobs and investment. After all, we are still geographically part of Europe, just not of the EU.

“Free speech and democracy is based on respect and public order.”
The part about respect is not involved in the right to free speech, at least in the U.S. The exemption for public order should be used as infrequently as possible and with considerable caution. Otherwise it becomes an ideological weapon which could easily muddy the clear waters of free speech.

The EU government needs control of its critics while it wheels out its plans for strong-arming the EU national governments. Germany, France, and the WEF seem to be the real players. It makes sense that Macron would fire the first shot at Twitter.
Would the globalists prefer that we all voluntarily hook up to the pipes, wires, crawl into the Matrix tub, and dream a false injected vision while they divide up the world and control everything? That would be too kind.
Instead they are using Global Warming as an excuse to start exterminating 3rd world inhabitants. First it was banning fertilizers in Sri Lanka, then the shutting down of farms in The Netherlands, and now reducing fertilizers in Germany.
Sri Lanka had a year to regress from sufficiency to importing $450 million in grains. The Netherlands farmers are currently fighting their cuckoo government’s farm grab. Maybe Bill Gates will bid for them?
It will be the citizens of poor nations who starve. It has been estimated that 45% of the world’s population is sustained by the additional production due to fertilizers. Non-fertilized farming will only sustain about 3.8 billion people. There is no evidence that the EU government has any concern for the suffering its “green” policy will create.

It’s hard to criticize a prohibition against misinformation and terrorist hate speech on line.

So people who hate the jihadists, like the ones in Israel who forced a Jew to kiss their feet – do you support their rights to participate in social media, Rarely?
For someone who is hung up on Nazis, you sure act like one!

What comprises “misinformation and hate speech” is for another discussion.

BTW It’s easy, very easy, to justify shutting down Alex Jones, QAnon and the like. They don’t even pretend to be relying on the facts.
I suppose you think they should simply be debated. Easy to do at Speaker’s Corner…impossible on social media.

Musk should pull Twitter out of the EU, rather than put up w/ any restrictions. After that, Europeans who want to use free social media should go into VPNs and then go on Twitter, Gettr, Rumble, Truth Social, Gab or whatever else there is out there

Freedom of speech! One is reminded of an incident at speakers’ corner, Hyde Park, London, England, just a few months ago. This Muslim apologist was criticized for his words, e.g. Non-Muslim women to be taken as Sex Slaves, non-Muslim males to be killed, wealth confiscated etc. He simply stated, “Freedom of speech, bro.”
When further questioned about if/when Muslims become the majority in the UK, his reply,
“Your Freedom of Speech goes.”
European Leaders are deliberately setting out to destroy their countries, their citizenry & their Liberties.

Standing on a soap box at Speaker’s Corner and spewing garbage hate speech may (and should) lead to arrest and charges being laid. It’s a totally different matter, enforcement-wise, when doing so on a platform where millions can be reached at once. i,e, it’s easier to shut down hate speech at Speaker’s Corner than on the net. AND it causes a lot less potential damage.

Interesting that the police managed to arrest evangelist Hatun Tash, but not this man. But then, Hatun is an ex-Muslim who is preaching Christianity, and, however wise and gracious she is, her very existence is an affront to Islam.

That enforcement may not always live up to my (or your) expectations does not alter the fact that confronting hate speech at a locale such as Speaker’s Corner is a relatively simple matter than when done on line. Also, the potential damage is miniscule in comparison.
What exactly comprises “hate speech” will be an interesting debate. However, just because it will be difficult to come to agreement doesn’t mean that it should be ignored just because some nut case demands the right to say or print anything he wants wherever he can claiming Freedom of Speech.

Hate speech seems to be a modern concern – if you read the missives that scholars on both sides of the Reformation debate fired off to one other, they said some appalling things to each other – but, if they had been arrested, it would have been on account of wrong doctrine, rather than of hurtful language. Treasonous speech could get you into trouble back then – but, provided that you stuck to your social equals, you could get away with a fair amount of insult and verbal unpleasantness. I’m wondering if we are replacing the notion of treason to a ruler or state with that of treachery to an ideology or peer group – and if this, rather than hurt feelings or denial of service, is the real driver behind the prosecutions of people like Baronelle Stutzman, and the Masterpiece Cake Company.
Or maybe there has been an expansion of the idea of victimhood – because no reasonable person would justify unkindness and thuggery on the grounds of freedom of speech, but in times past behaviour like this had to be directed towards a specific person, and probably a vulnerable one, to be viewed as really reprehensible, whereas it can now be viewed as “hate speech” if it merely targets a movement.

The Left’s Free Speech Movement was nothing more than a movement to legitimize dropping f-bombs in public. Conservatives need to fight like the dickens for a freedom of speech as the US Founders intended–freedom of political speech.
