Just hours after the publication on Jihad Watch about the Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) exploiting tragedy to promote itself, we get this story about the burglary of a Minneapolis mosque.
The news anchor for KMSP, Kelcey Carlson, begins her report by saying:
Now the Minnesota chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations is calling on police to investigate whether it was racially motivated.
CAIR knows nothing about the vandalism, and has nothing to contribute to our understanding of what took place at the Karmel Mall mosque. The gratuitous inclusion of CAIR in the KMSP broadcast appears to only benefit the nation’s greatest Muslim organization.
It is still an open question why TV stations across the country keep putting CAIR on the air this way. Because local newscasters are not going to give millions of dollars in advertising away for free. Whether CAIR is giving the stations money for placement in the news, or local newscasters are selling the CAIR broadcasts to Middle Eastern TV stations is unknown.
For whatever reason, CAIR’s simple comments are considered to be important enough to include on the news. But TV stations around the country deem as not newsworthy stories about Tamar Herman, Lori Soraya, the victims of the Days Fraud Scheme, etc., who are suing CAIR.
How hard would it be for CAIR to condemn Mustafa Alowemer, or Omar Alkattoul, or honor killings, or kidnapping plots? Apparently hard enough that its representatives are never going to get on the news in connection with such things.
Just yesterday, the New York Post reported on Shaikh Abdullah Faisal, who is “one of the most influential English-speaking Muslim terrorists of our time,” standing trial in NYC. CAIR will have nothing to do with this story, no matter how many times it breaks in the news.
CAIR would like to leave the impression it is defending the interests of Muslims, when in reality it is just promoting itself on TV.
