Iranian protesters have sometimes noted that the mullahs spend more money on foreign jihad terrorists than on their own people. So this may be another regime attempt to calm the protests.
“Iran halts funds to Palestinian terror groups, sparking crisis – report,” by Khaled Abu Toameh, Jerusalem Post, December 11, 2022:
Iran has stopped channeling funds to a number of Palestinian factions, the Palestinian newspaper Al-Quds revealed on Sunday.
The paper quoted unnamed informed sources in Lebanon as saying that the factions are currently suffering from a financial crisis because of the Iranian move, which was taken three months ago.
The sources did not name the factions that have been affected by the move.
However, it’s believed that Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) and Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) are among the factions that depend on funding from Iran.
The sources claimed that the factions used the Iranian money to pay salaries to their leaders and members and cover the costs of their “various activities.”
In the past, Hamas and PIJ officials admitted that Iran has been supplying their groups with financial and military aid.
The sources said the reason for halting the financial aid was unknown, though it may be related to the ongoing protests and violence in Iran….

The present day expression of Jihad often mirrors the relationship Muhammad had with his early followers. If Muhammad had been unable to bribe his first criminal band of social misfits into joining his cult by promising a cut of the loot history might have played out with considerably less bloodshed. Today’s jihadists all expect their respective “governments” and military leaders to pay up. They can see who is living the good life at the expense of their society’s more civilized members and will get restless if they can’t be part of the corruption.
I expect Iran will reverse course in a short time. Right now all the mullahs probably did was lower their oil generated “salaries” from quintrillions of rials to quadrillions. It would take about a million rials to buy a movie ticket in the U.S. The average Iranian, who doesn’t belong to the Supreme Council or it’s police force, is truly suffering under a dysfunctional economy with an inflation rate of at least 60%. Add that on top of their rule by terror and you can see why the mullahs are on good speaking terms with the Communist Party of China and Vladimir Putin while their disregarded subjects are less than unhappy.

How. Very. Odd.
Is it possible that the Mullahs are considering mending fences with Israel?

Would the Israelis ever trust them? they don’t exactly have a good track record.
