The Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) has managed to have a boot removed from Walmart’s online store. The reason for the removal is the letters “KKK” emblazoned on the boot’s tongue.
There is no indication that the hiking boots have any connection to the Ku Klux Klan, or that the proceeds from sale of the boot go to support the Ku Klux Klan.
It would have been responsible for the St. Louis TV station KPLR to investigate the company selling the boot, or maybe get a statement from the company about the matter. But that did not happen.
Instead, KPLR dutifully read the press release from CAIR on the air.
Station management told me during a phone conversation that they have been aware of CAIR for decades and found it comparable to the ACLU.
This is an unfounded assumption, because the ACLU is not using its media access to target people for destruction the way CAIR does. There are over 100 examples of CAIR using its TV appearances to interfere in people’s business, defame them, expose them to danger, and manipulate the media.
For example, KPLR ran a completely synthetic story about the Capitol rioters threatening CAIR, and stated that the FBI was “involved.” However, none of this was true. The FBI does not comment on whether it is conducting investigations, and its statement on the matter was pure boilerplate.
KPLR never showed us the supposed threat from the Capitol rioters, who were no danger to CAIR at all. It was not clear if the station had seen the threat CAIR says it received. This was another example of CAIR manipulating the media.
But management at stations such as KLPR are completely unaware that this manipulation is going on, and that they are its target. And that is a direct result of the public not complaining about CAIR’s portrayal in the media.
