Yet another irrelevant CAIR broadcast. This time from Indiana.
An Indiana University student was stabbed seven times in the head as she was leaving a public transportation bus.
Billie R. Davis, 56, of Bloomington, Indiana, confessed to the stabbing, saying she did it because the student looked Chinese. “One less person to blow up our country,” Davis reportedly said.
Although the Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) has nothing to do with this, as the incident had nothing to do with Islam or Muslims, Bloomington TV station WTTV and its sister station WXIN both read CAIR’s statement on the matter right after the mayor’s.
“We condemn this apparently bias-motivated attack, and urge local, state and national elected leaders to do more to address the growing bigotry and violence targeting the Asian-American community.” – Council on American Islamic Relations
This happens a lot.
It is quite common to see CAIR’s statements placed in a news broadcast in between those of a chief of police and a mayor. Sometimes a newscast will pivot immediately from the President of the United States to CAIR.
CAIR’s condemnation of the stabbing was not needed. Everyone assumes that CAIR is against attempted murder. Only someone like the mayor is required to make a statement.
It is fine if CAIR wants to show solidarity with its friends, but that is not its job. Its job should include sometimes “speaking out” and “condemning” violent Muslims as well.
The same day CAIR issued its statement about the Indiana stabbing, we learned of the attempt of a Muslim in the United States, Kevin Iman McCormick, to join the Islamic State (ISIS). CAIR said nothing about this. Which is another thing that also happens quite a bit.
A video compilation of what CAIR called “Islamophobic incidents” during the first half of 2021, including tweets, scary cell phone videos, bacon, outliers, etc., shows what CAIR was looking at during that time period. However, at the same time that those incidents were happening, CAIR ignored news about a Muslim plotting a mass casualty event, an honor killing arrest, Iranian kidnapping plots, several people trying to join ISIS, etc.
CAIR never commented on any of those reports.
CAIR’s statement on the bus stabbing was to tell other people how to do its job. While CAIR is not doing its own.
It is time to start calling CAIR out on this.
OLD GUY says
My guess is that Billie R. Davis suffers from some mental disorder similar to what the Islamic young men who do similar crimes against Jews and Christians have. CAIR would be concerned that the mental defense might get overused and therefore not be as effective in the future as a defense.
