Alas, not an act of a regime in its death throes.
“Iran Issues Warning on Mandatory Headscarf in Cars,” AFP, January 2, 2023 (thanks to The Religion of Peace):
Iranian police have resumed warnings that women must wear mandatory headscarves even in cars, media reported Monday, as unrest continues following the death of Mahsa Amini.
Protests have gripped Iran since the September 16 death of Iranian-Kurdish Amini, 22, after her arrest in Tehran for an alleged breach of the Islamic republic’s strict dress code for women.
Tehran generally calls the protests “riots”.
Fars news agency quoted a senior police officer who said the “new stage” of the Nazer-1 programme — “surveillance” in Persian — was being rolled out “across the country by the police”.
The Nazer programme, launched in 2020, concerns the “removal of hijab in cars”, Fars added.
When it was launched in 2020, car owners would be sent an SMS text message alerting them of a dress code violation in their vehicle and warning of “legal” action if repeated.
But police have seemingly dropped the threat of legal action, according to messages posted on social media platforms.
“The removal of hijab has been observed in your vehicle: It is necessary to respect the norms of the society and make sure this action is not repeated,” read a message reportedly sent by police and posted on social media.
Iran’s morality police –- known as Gasht-e Ershad, or “Guidance Patrol” — have a mandate to enter public areas to check on the implementation of the strict dress code….

Compared to this, the Saudis (during previous regimes) had it right when they didn’t allow women in their jilbabs to drive: at least, they are less likely to cause accidents. Wearing chadors if you’re in the driver’s seat is dangerous
I just hope the riots in Iran continue and escalate until they bring down this regime. Hopefully, there ain’t too many Marxists around to fill up the vacuum. Iran may not become a constitutional republic, but if they simply ban islam, they’ll be off to a good start

Does forcing people to wear something they don’t want or need to wear sound familiar?
Forcing people to do silly things is about POWER and CONTROL, not health or religion.

Absolutely!

Or forcing people to inject an experimental vaccine into their body claiming it will stop them getting a virus (doesn’t), & that it will stop them transmitting a virus (doesn’t). That sounds familiar too. That was all about power & control as well.

The former Zoroastrian nation should simply get rid of Islam – the result of Muslim conquest of Persia by their Arch rivals the Arabs after thousands of years of rivalry.

I agree w/ you that they should return to Zoroastrianism. However, your latter statement that the Arabs brought islam to them is somewhat challenged by Robert’s book “Did Muhammad Exist?” Based on the lack of any evidence of Muhammadan settlements in Mecca or Medina, the tentative conclusion is that islam was designed by committee in the courtrooms of Baghdad and Buqhara, both a part of the Sassanid Empire before the Sassanids were toppled. In other words, this ‘religion’ was more a creation of the Turks and the Abbasid Arabs, rather than anyone from Mecca or Medina or even Damascus

Islam is no creation of the Turks, there are hadiths that contemptuously describe Turks, along with the Jews, as enemies of muslims. Islam is an arab supremacist religion, it’s so called holy texts insults non-arabs especially Turks and the Jews.
Some Turks accepted islam only in the 10th century not before.

That brutal cruel oppressive misogynistic as well as murderous tyrannical Islamic regime of Iran is based on Sharia which denies basic human rights is viciously harsh oppressive to girls and women. For Sharia supports forcing females to wear the hijab because of its misogyny.
So it should be made known that the actual origin of Sharia is revealed in a Time –Life book with the title MESOPOTAMIA: THE MIGHTY KINGS copyright 1995. The point is this what an outright liar Rasis is, for he said that he is “a defender of human rights.” For that future history book about the ancient pagan world of Mesopotamia informs the reader that “many Islamic laws resemble the Babylon and Assyrian forebears.” .page 150.
Therefore Sharia has no value or worth.
