It’s nothing short of a scandal: despite all the pretensions and posturing of woke actors and producers, Hollywood is denying some of the best roles in cinema to non-white actors. And now a Pakistani-American movie star, Kumail Nanjiani, is blowing the whistle. Will his revelation herald an outbreak of sanity in Tinseltown? Or will he never work again on the big screen?
There is more. Read the rest here.

Well, of course, everybody, well every trendy fuckwit, knows that only white people are evil and only western civilisation is evil, so it is probably true that the morons in Hollywood will only give white people roles as villains while this current fad continues to rule the minds of the brain dead.

Well put Tim.

Thanks, Keith O. It does seem like a fad or a fashion that, hopefully, will soon fade away. There seem to be many of these fads that come along and a lot of fools jump on board and then they do die away. I feel that this whole gender fluidity andthe trans lobby will fade away given a bit of time. Then again, I am often wrong, but I do hope that, in this case, I am right.

Remember the Arnie movie, TRUE LIES? The bad guys were demented mudslimes?
Ah, the good old days before everything was politically correct.
Who the hell was it that decided that our thoughts had to follow their f*#ked up version of reality anyway?
tim gallagher says
I didn’t see that movie, Keith O. But the movies do seem to be drowning in politically correct nonsense these days. Probably all the Hollywood types are walking around on egg shells hoping that they won’t offend those groups of people who, these days, are always bound to be offended anyway. This really is the age of the constantly offended and some bunch of people are always going to believe that they are being victimised, and it is often Muslims who are the champions at being offended.

I have watched numerous TV series and movies and I have seen many ME and Asians in villainous roles. So I do not know what he is talking about. i looked him up on IMD and he has had a few roles, perhaps not in as famous movies as he wants. But white actors do not always get the roles they desire either

I’ll stick with my film noir movies from the 1940s and 1950s.

Sounds like a good idea, James. You had a comment a few days back about how NPR is a left wing propaganda radio station. Our left wing equivalent, the ABC, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, quite a few years ago, used to play bits of NPR stuff and I listened occasionally, must be 20 years ago because it is 20 years since I ever went near the ABC bullshit brigade, so I agree about NPR. The only thing I like that they have are those NPR Tiny Desk concerts which i have watched a bit of on youtube. Everybody seems to go on them. I enjoyed the Jackson Browne NPR Tiny Desk concert and also the Rodney Crowell one. Really nice acoustic music in a small setting. I noticed that even huge stars like Taylor Swift was on one -just her playing guitar and singing which I thought was quite a brave thing for a big star like her to do. Didn’t watch much of it though.

tim,
Decades ago, NPR / PBS were reasonably good news sources. I particularly liked the in-depth coverage of “The MacNeil/Lehrer Report” back in the mid-70s.
And I have enjoyed, over the years, a lot of the musical offerings (as long as the Leftist musicians keep their mouth shut).
Unfortunately, the news offerings are mostly garbage now.
tim gallagher says
James, NPR does sound very much like the ABC in Australia, incredibly left wing bias to all of their reporting. The ABC, paid for the taxpayers, is our equivalent of the BBC, so it is huge, and has some kind of charter to provide balanced news coverage, which it continually ignores. As you mention, most of the musicians would probably fit right in with the left wing agenda of NPR. Some of the music I have heard on those Tiny Desk concerts I have enjoyed. Haven’t listened to a lot of it but it is a nice format with pleasant, quiet performances. As you say, it is better when the musicians keep their mouths shut when it comes to their idiotic political opinions.

‘Pakistani-American Actor Can’t Get a Good Villain Role…….’
If I were him, I wouldn’t complain. Obviously, they’re trying to avoid type-casting.
