Canada’s Senate has passed the Trudeau government’s groundbreaking and “Stalinesque” Internet censorship bill in third reading along with a dozen useless recommendations. In 2018, the former Ambassador of the Office of Religious Freedom, Dr. Andrew Bennett, stated presciently that “the Trudeau government is displaying ‘totalitarian’ tendencies.” Since then, the Trudeau government has become progressively repressive. Among Trudeau’s actions: his threat about “crushing the Freedom Convoy with tanks,” his gun ban, his historic dealings with China, his appointment of an “Islamophobia” czar, and now this: the passage of Trudeau’s sweeping censorship Bill C-11, which his own appointed Senator David Richards referenced as “Stalinesque” and called “an Orwellian attempt to force individuals to comply with government messaging.”
Bill C-11 was stalled for some time in the Senate due to severe complications about how to apply it. It places Internet content under the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC), the historic sole broadcast regulator, which has often been criticized for being an unnecessary watchdog over Canada’s airwaves. But now, its powers have expanded to include content on social media and the Internet. Bill C-11 affects platforms such as YouTube, Netflix and Spotify, requiring them to contribute “Canadian content” or face steep penalties. One doesn’t need to look far to immediately see how this will affect American podcasters and Internet contributors with a substantial Canadian audience. The bill will also be “scapegoating all those who do not fit into what our bureaucrats think Canada should be,” according to Senator Richards.
During a previous debate in the Canadian Parliament, a Conservative MP, Dr. Leslyn Lewis, captured the essence of what Bill C-11 means. She stated that it will make the government the arbiter of “what Canadians must view.”
Bill C-11, like its predecessor C-10, shows that the government doesn’t trust Canadians with free speech & to make their own internet choices. #cdnpoli pic.twitter.com/vi6ecJROky

Senator David Richards also rightly stated about Bill C-11:
The government should never in “any way” tell Canadians what “Canadian content should or should not be or who should be allowed to bob their heads up out of the new murkiness we have created.”
But that is precisely what Trudeau wants to do. Most dangerously, Trudeau presents his ruthless ambitions as good for Canada. Senator Richards further explains that Trudeau’s bill is really “censorship passing as national inclusion.” Trudeau has repeatedly used “inclusion” and “diversity” to enforce the most repressive agendas upon Canadians. Few deeds are worse than using a pretense of good for nefarious purposes. In Trudeau’s view, it was good to attempt to crush the Freedom Convoy and present concerned citizens as a “fringe minority” who posed a danger to Canada’s security. To Trudeau, it is a good to ban firearms in order to protect Canadians, when everyone knows (or should know) that the greatest danger comes from illegal firearms. And while he bans handgun sales from law-abiding citizens — which in effect boosts the illegal gun market — he is simultaneously reducing sentences for those who commit violent gun crime, citing “racial equity” as his reason. Some provinces are refusing to comply as Trudeau further dismantles Canada’s unity. To Trudeau, it is also a matter of the public good to fight “Islamophobia,” when antisemitism and anti-black racism are bigger problems statistically. In addition, the hateful attitudes of a woke generation toward Christian views is also nothing less than social persecution, so where is the Christian czar to protect the Constitutional rights of Christians?
Bill C-11 is a violation of Canada’s Charter of Rights and Freedoms and makes the Liberal Government of Canada the arbiter of what Canadians can watch and what can be expressed. The Senate has proven itself tone deaf, a failure and an utter disappointment to Canadians, to compound its already established uselessness. The Canadian Senate does not have the same function as its American counterpart. Macleans Magazine summed it up nicely a decade ago:
It now seems ludicrous to imagine the Senate should take up even an hour of serious discussion. Rather than a place for sober second thought or regional balance, the upper chamber has become a repository of political cronies, former media personalities and many other depressingly unserious characters.
The recommendations from the Senate are virtually useless. The amendments are to highlight “the promotion of Indigenous languages and Black content creators,” and according to Canada’s Heritage Minister, Pablo Rodriguez (that same Heritage department from which anti-Islamophobia M-103 emerged , which set the groundwork for Bill C-11):
There are amendments that have zero impact on the bill. And others that do, and those, we will not accept them
Under section 2 of Canada’s Charter, Canadians are guaranteed the fundamental freedoms of conscience, thought, religion, belief, opinion, expression, of the press, communication, and peaceful assembly. It is difficult to accept how a country’s freedoms can be be so easily hijacked by its own public servants. Trudeau even managed to find a loophole in Canada’s parliamentary system by signing a pact with the New Democratic Party (which has socialist roots and ideology) to prop him up until 2025.

No surprise at all that the left wing totalitarian fascists would be into thought control. Only the left wing fascists’ view of the world is acceptable. It is up to the Canadian people to vote these scum out. In a democracy you get the government you deserve. It is the same out here in Australia where the people have voted in a useless left wing Labor Party government full of complete wankers. But, Australians also now have the government they deserve with an absolute fool of a Prime Minister, Anthony Albanese, in charge. For some reason, many people seem to find the idiot acceptable. Lots of Canadians must, for some reason, like this wanker Trudeau, and his other government members. Next election is the chance to kick the bum out.

+1.
And demonstrating again that the ultimate enemy to Western Civilization is not Islam, awful as it is, but the enemy within, i.e., the Western Left. Minus Leftthink the West would be OK, but with it said Leftthink functions as the perfect complement to man’s oldest totalitarian ideology, i.e., Islam.
The destruction of the greatest civilization of all time continues. Right now there appears no real relief in sight. It’s all a total waste, monumentally so, whether in Australia, Canada, the USA, New Zealand or western Europe. We are living through what is arguably the greatest tragedy in man’s history.
And for what—Leftism and Islam? Both total rot.

100% true.
Without “Leftthink”, islam would have continued to be effectively marginalized.

I think that is right, Wellington, about the decline of western civilisation, probably mainly due to some kind of a loss of confidence in and appreciation of the great achievements of that civilisation and the loss of an appreciation for the very pleasant style of life it has provided for the people in western countries. Maybe there will be a turn around. I suppose that the march of the left wingers, the Marxists, through the universities and the schools has brainwashed a lot of the younger people and they have been taught to hate their own culture and have a self loathing type of attitude. I hope that people do wake up and stop the rot and stop this endless beating up on western countries and the supposed terrible horrors they have committed. Most of my family tend to be left wingers and they are pretty pleasant people, nicer than I will ever be in the case of one of my sisters in particular, so I get a good insight into the attitudes of some left wingers (not the really vicious far left loony types), but i get together every month or so with a conservative friend and he say that it is like watching the decline of the Roman Empire these days when it comes to the western world. He studied Ancient History whereas I studied only Modern History, but maybe he is right. So much of the bullshit agenda these days in western countries (the trans nonsense, critical race bullshit, etc) seems like Nero fiddling away (maybe fiddle farting around is the right terminology) while the place falls apart. I agree with you, James. The left are islam’s allies because they both want to destroy western countries. What the left lunatics would come up with would be a thousand times worse, a terrible nightmare of a society, which is what I view islam as being.

That’s what the “global elite” have planned for us in the not-too-distant future. Could this be implanted with something like the Covid “vaccine,” a “vaccine” that is not a “vaccine” but cell and gene therapy?

Weeks ago, I heard Andrew Wilkow, a talk-show host, state that socialism is something you vote your way in, but have to shoot your way out. Canada is probably already there, not much unlike California. I just fear that there are simply not enough Canadians to shoot their way out, and that country might be as lost as Venezuela, Cuba and New Zealand
I just hope that the US, Australia and UK manage to get out of this
tim gallagher says
I’m not sure about the situation with Canada, Infidel. They can vote Trudeau and his government out. I can’t remember the man’s name but they did have a Conservative Prime Minister and a conservative government not so long ago. Was his name Chretien? In Australia, Labor are in power Federally and in all but one state at present. But Labor did not dominate in the last Federal election, which i think was a bit over 6 months ago, they were not all that popular so I think that they might bugger things up as they usually do – wreck the economy, destroying our energy supply to combat climate change, throwing money around like drunken sailors, etc and so get thrown out at the next election. As for New Zealand, well Ardern was heading for a massive defeat in their upcoming election, they were going to cop a hiding, so she retired from the fight and so her party will probably still be hammered in their next election because she was hopeless and delivered almost nothing of the achievements she had promised the New Zealanders and became very unpopular there from what I had heard. I hope you are wrong about Canada. BUt if the people there are so left wing that they like trudeau’s mob, then so be it. That would be like Victoria, the most left wing state in Australia, where they keep voting the Daniel Andrew’s left wing government no matter how corrupt and hopeless that government is. They get what they deserve..
࿗Infidel࿘ says
The last ‘conservative’ government they had was Stephen Harper, who was one of those establishment conservative leaders, like a Boris Johnson or a Rishi Sunak. Nothing remotely close even to a John Howard, who despite his shortcomings vis a vis islam, looks like a gold standard today! But since Harper, Canada has voted for Trudeau twice, and part of the reason is that they’ve managed to import enough Leftist voters
Given their population of just ~30 million, it’s not hard to swing that either, unlike the US
tim gallagher says
Thanks for the information, Infidel. I wrote my comment and went to bed. It’s funny, when I woke up I was thinking, wait a minute, was that Canadian conservative named Harper? Maybe the Canadians are just like the people down in Victoria here in Australia and are so hopelessly left wing that they will keep voting Trudeau in until he decides to move on. What you mention about Harper being a fairly left leaning type of “conservative”, like Johnson, is a bit similar to what has happened to the conservative parties here in Australia. They have plenty of politicians who seem on board with most of the woke, virtue signalling agenda. Perhaps they know that the voters have also moved off to the left. milo, from my memory of what Pierre Trudeau looked like, all those years ago, (you have to be old to remember him) Justine Trudeau looks nothing like him, so maybe someone else, maybe even Castro, might be his father. To me, he seems like the male equivalent of that, now gone and good riddance, Jacinda Ardern, the former queen of wokedom and New Zealand Prime Minister..
milo minderbinder says
Justine (Fidel Castro) Trudeau will be the Prime Minister of Canada until he decides to step down or move on to something bigger and more challenging. Maybe Prime Minister of the New World Order?
https://medium.com/@leibowitt/of-course-fidel-castro-is-justin-trudeaus-dad-nobody-has-debunked-anything-4db6fc8a9042
He will be reelected either legitimately or illegitimately. In the United States, in the 2022 Midterms, an election that was projected to be a “red wave” turned out to be a “red flag.”
There were 28 people in the Senate running for reelection, 15 of whom had a grade of F by the people at the website, Conservative Review – https://www.conservativereview.com/ – all 28 were reelected!
If Justine’s biological father is Fidel Castro, then truly, the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.
