Sweden: ‘When police have to deal with a young man whose standards have been radicalized, society has failed’

The once-peaceful country Sweden is now unrecognizable. The transformation happened within the last decade, thanks to suicidal immigration policies.

Sweden has gone from having one of the lowest to one of the highest levels of gun violence in Europe—worse than Italy or eastern Europe…Gangs—whose members are second-generation immigrants, many from Somalia, Eritrea, Morocco, and elsewhere in North Africa—specialize in drug trafficking and the use of explosives.

Muslim migrant gangs continue to terrorize Sweden’s streets with bombings and murders, while the news spotlight is on Sweden over an “Islamophobic” Qur’an burning incident.

In 2016, police in Sweden admitted losing control of 55 no-go zones.

By 2017, Swedish politicians were calling for the army to be deployed to these areas.

Last April, Sweden’s then-Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson stated:

Sweden has failed to integrate the vast numbers of immigrants it has taken in over the past two decades, leading to parallel societies and gang violence….. she launched a series of initiatives to combat organised crime.

So what is Sweden doing about it? Bending to foreign ideologies, namely Islam, even more. The country recently abandoned the freedom of expression and banned Qur’an-burnings.

In 2020, Gothenburg police chief Erik Nord was accused of “racism” for saying that foreign criminals “do not belong in Sweden.” By 2021, the jihad group Hizb ut-Tahrir was recruiting in Stockholm’s No-Go suburbs.

And failed it has. Sweden has been overtaken by unvetted Muslim migrants, and its laxity in serving the interests of and protecting its own people should be an example to every Westerner of what not to do, and what a failed state looks like.

DEBATE. All my adult life I have been a police officer and all the time I have worked with serious organized crime. Throughout my professional life, I have believed that the police alone can reverse the gross violence that befell us.

Now I have come to the realization that it is not true, and last week I resigned.

Just over ten years ago came that violence that we have such a hard time understanding. Which all point to the police to solve. We talk about getting tougher and we get tougher. Yet it just gets worse and worse, and we watch as the violence continues to reach new levels.

As a police officer, I and my colleagues have come to devote our lives to putting people in jail, but I realize that it matters less that we prosecute more people than ever before if there are ten in line for every person we remove.

In interviews with the media, I have said “it will get worse before it gets better,” but lately I have started to think about how long it can get worse before it gets better? How many more will have to die before it turns around?

Received information yesterday from one of my serious crime managers that we suspect a 15-year-old for a shooting. I caught myself not being surprised. Wondered a bit how long that particular 15-year-old had to stand in line.

I have a recurring dream. I’m standing in a flooded room. There is more and more water on the floor. I see me and my colleagues running with buckets. We swab up the water. We swab faster. We miss time with family to wade around in the water. Outside the room I hear voices calling for more mops and more efficient mops.

What I see in the dream, but which we don’t have time to pay attention to in the room, is the faucet on the wall that gushes out water. This has become a national problem. The violence is close to us now.

Now I choose to move on with the experiences I have from my many years in the police. With the experience I have gained, I want to focus completely on handling the crane.

This by working preventively. For people younger than 15, the police’s toolbox for preventive measures is not enough.

But I can’t handle the crane alone. We need to be more, we need to be many. The crane is society’s responsibility.

We talk about that often. But as we are now organized in society, everyone’s responsibility becomes nobody’s responsibility. We need to change that.

We need to coordinate and responsibility needs to be pointed out. A strategy needs to be developed. We get nowhere by blaming each other, waiting for someone else to do it, for time to work out, without at the same time realizing all of our responsibilities.

When the police, far too late, have to deal with a young man whose standards have been radicalized and whose outlook on life is indifferent, society has failed. It has gone too far and it is too late. That boy should have been dealt with much sooner. The boy’s bad conditions in life are the water that splashes onto the floor.

We need a policeman who continues to swab hard, but at the same time we need to reduce the flow of water from the tap.

If we are to succeed, we must, in addition to the investment in the judiciary, make equal investments in parental support, in the school, in the leisure parks, in the sports associations, in the social secretaries, in the field assistants, in all the fantastic people who make efforts in the non-profit and idea-driven sector.

That arduous and often thankless work that never makes headlines – but literally makes the difference between life and death.

You who are reading this also have a responsibility. I have a responsibility. As a society, we share the entire responsibility.

I am so heartily tired of having to accept the unacceptable. The presence of the raw violence that tears a generation apart.

More police officers alone is not enough, more is needed. In my new role, I will work with all the actors who together take power with soft means.
