The Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) regularly, consistently, and increasingly uses its media access to attack people and companies on TV. There are over 120 examples in the last five and a half years of CAIR threatening someone’s livelihood, exposing someone to danger, or defaming a person.
In this latest example of CAIR attacking people and groups during its television appearances, we have Whole Foods market issuing an apology after a security guard falsely accused a Muslim woman of shoplifting. The guard no longer works at the Whole Foods location, and was a third part contract employee who was never part of the Whole Foods team. The Muslim woman is free to come back to the market, or not, as she chooses. And of course the company has apologized.
But all this falls short of what the Council on American-Islamic Relations wants. CAIR wants to see the security camera footage and have an investigation. What the investigators would be looking for is not clear. They might be looking for the guard’s name, so they can have that person fired. After all, CAIR said one of the reasons they went public with this story was to prevent this sort of incident from happening again.
But something similar has already happened in Colorado. When a client of CAIR accused a Pepsi Arena security guard of discrimination, the TV stations were there to cover CAIR’s press conference. However, the subsequently released security cam video showed there was no discrimination, and it was CAIR’s client who was causing trouble. No TV station covered that development.
Like all network affiliates, WTTG is far more interested in promoting CAIR than it is in reporting news about the group.
Here are some recent WTTG broadcasts featuring CAIR: CAIR is trying its case against Customs and Border Protection on this WTTG news segment, “Can The Government Search Your Phone At The Airport.” – see here and here. There is even a poll at the end to judge the effectiveness of CAIR’s presentation.
There really should be a law against falsely claiming on television that someone is an armed public menace. WTTG reports on CAIR firing its Ohio director. But there is no mention of CAIR falsely accusing its former employee of being armed and dangerous. CAIR is abusing its access to the media by attacking an individual again; see “CAIR Reveals New Spying Allegations On Islamic Americans.”
And here is CAIR doing it again right now, with help from WTTG. CAIR’s televised clash with Whole Foods is its ninth such attack this year, for an average of three times a month. It really is remarkable how consistently CAIR uses television appearances to interfere in people’s lives. You can set your watch by it.
We do not know what may come out of CAIR’s investigation. Perhaps the name of the security guard, so they can have him or her fired. And, of course, if the security camera video does not support CAIR’s narrative, WTTG will not do a follow-up report.
“Whole Foods apologizes to Silver Spring woman who says she was discriminated against,” by Josh Rosenthal, Fox 5 Washington,
SILVER SPRING, Md. – Whole Foods Market is apologizing to a Montgomery County woman who believes she was discriminated against because she was wearing a hijab.
“I was so confused and shocked,” Buhite Al-Jabry told FOX 5 on Thursday.
Al-Jabry said she had just finished paying for groceries at her neighborhood Whole Foods in Silver Spring Monday evening when she was singled out by a security guard who accused her of stealing.
“I give him the receipt thinking he’s doing his job, just like if you shop at Costco … What shocked me is that even though he had the receipt in his hand, he keeps insisting that I didn’t scan the items,” Al-Jabry explained. “He kept yelling in front of people. It was so humiliating and so many people turned around.”Al-Jabry said she called for help and another employee confirmed she hadn’t stolen a thing.
“He targeted me because the way I dress,” she said.
Whole Foods Market sent FOX 5 the following statement:
“We’re truly sorry for the experience [Ms. Al-Jabry] had in our store. The individual involved works for a third-party and is not a Whole Foods Market team member. His actions were unacceptable and the store leadership team immediately reported the incident. The individual no longer works in our stores.”
“The response from Whole Foods, it falls short of what we’re looking for,” said Zainab Chaudry, the Maryland director for the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR).
They’re calling for Whole Foods to pull security footage and launch a full, transparent investigation.
“Nobody should ever have to walk into any business and walk out feeling like they’ve been criminalized and humiliated, and communities of color, our communities, American Muslim communities, typically have become used to this kind of treatment, and it’s not okay,” Chaudry added….
CAIR is also calling for Whole Foods to offer cultural competency training for staff.

Of course, it was her “dress” that was the *reason* for the extra scrutiny. Did the guy make her take off her “rape her-not me” rag?
And an apology is “not enough.” “it falls short of what we’re looking for,” means everyone is supposed to
lie down and allow mozlums to walk on their backs and faces and demonstrate the mozlum superiority.
The store’s employees are supposed to bow down and pay tribute…in praise and money…to all of the mozlums everywhere for all of the pretend discrimination and hatred the mozlum community experiences every day of the week and twice on Fridays.
I once worked for a large grocery chain. Employees are taught to take notice of suspicious actions…and a person wearing oversized clothing is one of the things listed as the shopper/lifter, has plenty of space to hide things. Extra clothing…layers of loose-fitting garments are reason for extra attention. Also, if a coat is worn when it’s warm outside, this is something shoplifters do.
Under hats, inside coat pockets, down the pants, inside large purses and bags…
But, mozlums are special…so they make a big stink when they are treated like ordinary people.

something I thought I had included: a shoplifter may get a pass by paying for some items, while having hidden others inside their clothing.
A favorite tactic is to pay for the cheaper things, such as chicken livers, while hiding a t-bone in their pants.
Showing a receipt doesn’t prove that nothing is hidden on the shopper. It only shows that what is in the grocery sack has been scanned an paid for.

“He targeted me because the way I dress,” she said.
My thoughts align with yours. Relatives’ home area had an influx of muslim refugees. My relatives had repeated instances of a swarm of tented women coming to “shop,” they began creating confusion, and the end result was always items stolen. Unless they are simultaneously strip-searched, it’s not evident they didn’t steal. Their men sat around all day; resting, one supposes, from the numerous break-ins that began happening all over the area at night.
It’s not islamophobia, it’s lived experience.

Sounds like the mafia….mobbing easy targets and if something is being done in self-defense, the enforcers step in to put an end to the suppression of crimes;
In this case, the “enforcers” are known by the name c.a.i.r.
In some jurisdictions, the proper way is to allow the perp to go outside with the purloined items and then stop them; take them back inside to an office and confront them with the evidence the owners have. If they refuse to cooperate, or if the owners want to prosecute, then call the cops.
Perhaps your relatives need to look into what laws apply to shoplifting in their area.

Spot on.

I would look to see if the security guard was a CAIR paid plant.

As an extra sidenote. There was a customer who came regularly to the store wearing her long, flowing robes and her head covering…the please don’t rape me rag.
She had a haughty look permanently plastered on her face. She would come to check-out with a cart full of things like French’s mustard, or Heinze ketchup…name brands, even though the store had its own cheaper versions.
And she’d whip out the bag of coupons…dozens for each item and she’d do this on double coupon days, and Sunday mornings….so she’d end up only paying for things like meat or milk, which were single items in her cart.
I surmised that she owned a store…where she sold newspapers…and would steal the coupons from the Sunday papers and use them to stock up, where in her store, she would then charge her usual prices for things she got free.
I recall challenging her on the coupon thingy….she didn’t want me to check for expiration dates or adhere to the “limits” the store had on certain items. Her reaction was anger. I can only imagine what might have happened if c.a.i.r had become involved. But the only thing “mozlum” about it was her.

“a Montgomery County woman who believes she was discriminated against because she was wearing a hijab”
She believes this why?
Did the security guard actually say or do anything that would cause her to believe that?
Or, as is much more likely, because CAIR (whose dear Maryland Rep stated, “the apology falls short of what we’re looking for”) told her what to say?
Yes, I would like to see the guard’s body cam video, too. Of course, as Larry notes, if she concocted this–the television station is quite unlikely to run a correction/apology. Nor, we can imagine, will CAIR or the dear, aggrieved Buhite Al-Jabry .

Poor thing, well of course she was singled out, thats why she wears that garb.
PRCS says
Yes, per Qur’an 33:59
O Prophet! Tell thy wives and daughters, and the believing women, that they should cast their outer garments over their persons (when abroad): that is most convenient, that they should be known (as such) and not molested. And Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
