New in PJ Media:
Old Joe Biden and his sinister handlers are doing just what they threatened to do. On July 5, 2020, Old Joe’s Twitter ghostwriter tweeted: “We’re going to beat Donald Trump. And when we do, we won’t just rebuild this nation — we’ll transform it.” They have done so. They have transformed the nation that was once known as the leader of the free world into a crime-ridden, open-borders free-for-all where opponents of the regime are arrested on bogus charges. Meanwhile, there seems to nothing that Biden’s handlers won’t do in order to torment Americans and fill their lives with petty annoyances: now they are banning incandescent light bulbs. What’s next? FBI agents standing on streetcorners and poking us with sharp sticks?
Fox News reported Saturday that Biden and his henchmen are “preparing to implement a sweeping nationwide ban on commonly used light bulbs as part of its energy efficiency and climate agenda.” Yes, the nation is going to go dark because of a hysterical junk science myth. “No credible scientific body,” wrote energy and environmental researcher Michael Shellenberger in 2019, “has ever said climate change threatens the collapse of civilization, much less the extinction of the human species.” In fact, the whole idea that temperatures are rising to catastrophic levels is based on circular reasoning. But the Biden regime is all in on the climate change myth, and as always, ordinary Americans are the ones who have to pay the price.
You may recall that we have been here before. Barack Obama banned incandescent light bulbs, and the Trump administration rolled back that ban in Sept. 2019. Fox notes that the Department of Energy (DOE) devised the new restrictions to reverse Trump’s action back in April 2022, meanwhile, and adds that Trump himself “was also personally opposed to LED light bulb adoption, remarking in 2019 that they are often more expensive, not good and make him ‘look orange.’” Ah, so that’s it! How can we all properly hate the Left’s Emmanuel Goldstein if we keep seeing him in lighting that doesn’t show him as Bad Orange Man?
The new rules go into effect on Aug. 1, so you still have some time to stock up on the good light bulbs, if you can find any. According to Fox, the DOE “will begin full enforcement of the ban on that date, but it has already urged retailers to begin transitioning away from the light bulb type and, in recent months, begun issuing warning notices to companies.” The way the Biden regime is going, if a store is selling incandescent light bulbs after Aug. 1, watch for ATF or FBI agents to come bursting through the door, armed to the teeth, pointing their guns at dumbfounded, slack-jawed clerks and screaming: “Throw down your light bulb and back away from the cash register!”
There is more. Read the rest here.
Egor Harrowsmyth says
How many democrats does it take to change a light bulb?
None.
They just sit in the dark and clap when the applaud light comes on.

Pathetic America! RS haveyou nothing of substance to offer? Incandescent bulbs are 19th century technology & use 5 or more times the power for the same light output as LEDs. So a significant cost saving is a bad thing?
Every advanced country except dumb-assed America has banned the obsolete bulbs.
somehistory says
Yes, of course in your deluded state, you believe freedom of choice in what a person buys, uses, eats, carries, drives, etc, is a bad thing, a stupid thing.
Freedom , from government intrusion, tyrannical laws and regulations, is your enemy, because you are so “advanced.”
Keith O says
We have the “energy saver and LED bulbs” here in Australia as well as the ancient style.
People have been transitioning to the new ones for about 20 years, mainly because they last longer and run cheaper than the incandescent bulbs.
We didn’t have to ban anything, we are just smart enough to see the hip pocket advantages of them.
somehistory says
Well, Americans like to be able to choose where we spend our money and on what.
There have been led bulbs here too for a long time. and many people have been spending the extra money on them. But, others have stayed with the bulbs that don’t require any special way to get rid of the bulbs when they burn out; and they don’t want to spend the extra money when they need new bulbs.
An American invented the light bulb. And a whole host of other things.
JimJFox says
Yes Keith but apparently Americans aren’t as smart as you?
USA has some of the finest thinkers/scientists/entrepreneurs/business people (Musk is the best example since Einstein IMO) but strangely a population of lesser individuals.
JimJFox says
Deluded? Hmmm…
Free choice is fine but must have limits to ensure society functions. Personal responsibility ought to be part of free choice but seems to be largely ignored in USA.
Americans seem obsessed with the idea that government is the enemy of the people. Unlikely in a democracy. Besides, how could gun ownership defeat armed forces IF said government went feral?
Second Amendment could not foresee anything like the current situation which renders the Amendment obsolete in reality.
gravenimage says
So you believe that society cannot function if you are allowed a choice of light bulbs? What else do you want to ban for the supposed good of society?
commonsense says
Evidently, you oppose the idea of consumers making their own decisions about what items they wish to purchase. To hell with you.
JimJFox says
There’s no Hell, no worries!
You’re correct, Americans have great freedom of choice which is a good thing if they have the wisdom to choose well.
Sadly, many don’t.
The greatest cause of death for young children is now gun violence. Maybe there’s a connection with the choice of an immature teenager to buy 7 guns legally including military assault weapons and killing 6 people? Sandy hook? Many other school massacres?
Never mind, free choice of light bulbs is more important…
E T says
Oh Jim Fox, you are so with it, such an up to date guy who knows anything old cannot be good or useful.
How old are you? Remember when the 12 year old little puppet girl for the NWO peoplekind raved to the world about bad gas and oil, we must have wind and solar power.
Did you go along with the 12 year old who knows more about science than any scientist? Now the little darling has changed her mind, she thinks windmills are bad, their life span is too short, their parts are polluting, they are killing too man animals and birds. Did a light bulb just go off in her head?
I do wish you would tone down your rage, all men make mistakes and only fool repeat them.
Robert Spencer is a hero of mine. If you can define what a woman is, you can now come back with I am a brainwashed she/she if it helps you to vent some of your rage.
You do not seem to appreciate anything dear Robert says, which make me wonder why you put yourself through such agony. Birds of a feather often flock together, it is a survival tactic, so maybe you should do like the other birds and flock off.
JimJFox says
Rage? Not at all. Poking fun at the uninformed & enjoying it. You know, CC deniers.
I admire Robert Spencer but not when he’s off topic bcos he exposes a lack of general knowledge which is surprising & disappointing.
Why would I have a sexist attitude to women? Even at 77 years I like women far more than men, many of whom are victims of testosterone. And I can be good & useful!
E T says
Jim Fox you remind me of the old Beatles song
Oh, I get by with the help of my friends
Mm, I get high with the help of my friends
Oh, I’m gonna try with a little help from my friends.
gravenimage says
“Off-topic”? Now JimJFox is telling Robert Spencer what he may and may not comment on on his own blog. Disturbing.
࿗Infidel࿘ says
It’s fine for people to make that decision for themselves, and they may make the right or wrong decisions. I go for LEDs, but I don’t want governmment forcing anything down my throat
Did you also support forced vaccines when they were mandatory?
somehistory says
That’s how I see it. If I want to stick with the old way of lighting, I should have that as a choice as long as those bulbs exist and I can afford them. In a situation in winter, if the heat goes off, but one still has electricity, the warmer old bulbs would be really nice.
I have both kinds of bulbs; and the choice is mine. Except like bo, biden wants to make me do things his way…guess my gas stove will have to give way, also.
When bo mandated that we go led, it was said if we broke one of those bulbs, we’d need a hazmat crew to come for a cleanup.
The old kind: broom and dustpan. and take it to the trash.
Robert Gismondi says
Yes, LEDs have longer life, and use less electricity. They also cost more. But, a light that is frequently turned on and off might be better as an incandescent; as, such use will shorten the life of an LED. Further, the instructions on the LED lamp note that placing it inside a globe, with no air circulation, is not recommended. LEDs do not create as much heat, but, cannot survive a high heat environment. Incandescents are not a major component of an electric bill. Lastly, although LEDs come in different color temperature specifications, some people do not like the result. So, the best practice is to have a mixture of bulbs, depending on the situation.
somehistory says
Thanks, Robert Gismondi, for that information.
somehistory says
the led usually costs more…making the poor people less likely to be able to afford to light their bathroom, much less their entire home…however small.
Just now, looking at the prices, the led is cheaper. Guess the cost of all of the regulations…all those millions…to the companies have made them realize they can get some of it back by charging a lot for the old bulbs that many will stock up on before it’s too late.
JimJFox says
Lifespan of incandescent is pitifully low. You’re gonna need hundreds!
somehistory says
Ha ha. A lot you don’t know. I’m allergic to light…sun light and artificial light; so bulbs of any kind last me a long, long time as I must limit exposure.
And you have no idea how many bulbs of whatever kind I have on hand. if you are still around when I run low, I’ll let you know, first thing so you can have a guffaw at my expense. However, as you have given your advanced age, you aren’t likely to still be around at that point in time.
Mike says
We’ll have to go back to using candles for light. But they’ve already thought that far ahead too. They’ll make it illegal to use even fire to light our candles. They’ll say something like fire gives off too much smoke and carbon monoxide or something. Be prepared to hurtle back to the stone ages friends.
࿗Infidel࿘ says
Candles use wax, which will emit CO2 when burnt. Won’t work. Ultimately, we’ll all have to have a rich supply of fireflies and glowworms to light up any space around us
JimJFox says
Choose to hurtle to the future with LEDs!
James Lincoln says
Choosing different types of light bulbs should be left to the free markets.
People have a choice:
Regular incandescent lightbulbs cost less up front but use more energy and don’t last as long as LEDs. But they are particularly useful for certain purposes like dimmers, etc.
LEDs cost more up front but use less energy and last longer than incandescent lightbulbs. But they don’t “dim” as well – and the light they give out is not as “warm” looking. But they are improving.
࿗Infidel࿘ says
I have noticed this as well. I have many lamps w/ dimmer switches, but b’cos I get the same brightness w/ much less wattage, I use the LED bulbs. That has of course cost the use of any brightness choices, which I have chosen to live w/
JimJFox says
You can choose the color temperature. Basically ‘daylight’ or ‘warm’ with other value also.
James Lincoln says
JimJFox,
Yes, the LEDs are improving.
We have “warm light” LEDs throughout the house except areas that are coupled with specialized dimmer switches.
Saving $25 per month on electricity.
JimJFox says
My statement is confirmed. “Freedom of choice”. Hilarious! Anyone with a few functional brain cells will conclude that incandescent bulbs cost far more because 1. They burn out faster and 2. They cost 5 times or more to run than LED. They also generate heat & are hopelessly inefficient.
Tell me, do you use incandescents in your cars? Thought not.
Yes you are free to be morons, go for it!
somehistory says
and, you’ve proven beyond all reasonable and unreasonable doubt, that you can’t be forced to be right…even on such a thing as Freedom of thought, choice, etc. You have made your choice to be wrong and you’re sticking with it.
Since you’ve never been in my car, you cant know beans about it. Have you ever looked at photos of some of the old cars? Have you even noticed what they had for headlights?
I would rather be considered a moron than….well, you can finish the sentence….try the word “fox.” Just remember, an American invented the light bulb and another helped with the electricity thingy.
What have you invented?
JimJFox says
At least ‘Infidel’ has a working brain & knows how to use it.
PS – I must be banned from JW. Most informed & informative re Islam & Jihad but otherwise dim as an incandescent bulb!
PPS – someone asked my age, which is 77. Old but apparently smarter than many here?
E T says
What about where you live? Do you live in an institution, a rest home or a madhouse?
࿗Infidel࿘ says
Thanks, but I also support the right of other people to make choices different from mine. Be it incandescent bulbs, fossil fuels, gun ownership and so on. Actually, looking at the political and crime situation in major US cities, the Second Amendment couldn’t have been more prescient than it is today
E T says
There is talk of Nuremberg 2.0, maybe the crooks, rapists, murderers can be shipped to a country where could be Penal colony 2.0..
gravenimage says
You have *not* been banned. What are you babbling about?
OLD GUY says
Why do we need to have the government ban a light bulb. Seems to me the FREE market would take care of the change from the incandescent bulb to better technology and efficiency. I guess there are those who need the Government to tell them what they need and how to live. Poor people.
somehistory says
And the current “government” wants so badly to control….everything.
E T says
And there are millions of useful idiots out there aiding and abetting.
gravenimage says
Agreed, OLD GUY.

Darkness Descending Upon America as Biden Bans Incandescent Light Bulbs
………………………………….
Darkness indeed. We’re also looking at bans on gas stoves and wood burning fireplaces.
somehistory says
Those in control, want us to eat raw bugs, sit in the dark, freeze in the cold and roast in the summer heat….recall a few years ago, a/c was the culprit and we should all just stay hot.
While we are eating raw bugs in the dark, freezing in the winter, roasting in the summer, and walking to wherever we might be able to go, they will be flying to their mansions where they will eat steak, sit by the warm fireside and plan how they will spend their summer vacations on some island of cool breezes.
